Thanks for the compliment! JsMom2 gave the logo a great start. I'm not very good at coming up with an idea, but once someone gets it started I can run with it.

I can print some transfer sheets in color for anyone who needs them, but I won't get too it until the end of August. I've got a big project just started, and then I'm going to a Teddy Bear Artists convention in the middle of the month. I have a friend who has recently published a wonderful book of aboriginal Australian folk tales involving koalas, and she invited me to help her sell the book at this event. We're also in the process of working on a book together, she will be writing and I will be illustrating! That one doesn't involve teddy bears, but involves a humorous look at being an older woman.

Once I get back from that trip I will be getting into "moderate vacation planning" mode, and I'll be doing my own shirts (and a tote bag) and will gladly print some transfers for any of you. They'll be done before the end of September, because I have two business trips coming up--one in October and one in November. At least the time will go quickly!

BTW, we finalized the last part of our vacation. Instead of going to the Wilderness Lodge for two nights after the cruise, we decided on Port Orleans Riverside for three nights! We thought we might be a bit tired of the whole wilderness theme after a week at the campground, and Port Orleans Riverside really is our current favorite resort, and we can add an extra night.

Beth

You are so welcome!! That would be awesome if you could do that thing with the transfer! Let me know if you need me to pay you!!!!
THANK YOU!
Ang

Once I get back from the Teddy Bear event I'll figure out how much it will cost to print them and get them mailed. It shouldn't be outrageous.

Beth you are wonderful! And as an older woman  it can be quite humerous being me! ;) The book should be fun to illustrate! :thumbsup2

Speaking of older women.....here is the news from our group. DBIL is out, not going. Now the reason is almost unspeakable, but I will give it a try. He,....he...oh folks this is so hard for me to admit much less put in writing. Ok, I'll just say it right out. He does not like Disney, never did, never will. :scared: :sad2: Oh my. The rest of us cannot even begin to comprehend, but he said he's not going and that is that. That would be Larry in the room with Larry and Pat. So, instead we have put our sweet, sweet mother in his place. She is our older lady. She will be 82 in a few weeks. Her first cruise, first trip to WDW. She was a bit leary, but we assured her that the stateroom is right there and she can rest whenever she wants, can party whenever she wants and at 82 we will allow her to do whatever she wants! :flower3: :thumbsup2

Your mother will have a wonderful time! We took my FIL on his first-ever vacation when he was 78. He had always dreamed of a cruise, and it was everything he had hoped for.

Being an older woman is certainly quite an interesting phenomenon. We plan to touch on the more "comical" aspects of all the changes a woman goes through as she approaches "senior citizenhood". We have a super-heroine, and a "super-heroine in training". I've known my co-author for 50 years--we met in first grade, but didn't see each other for 35 years after we started college! I found her again by accident doing some research for my son, but she uses a pseudonym in some of her writing, and I had no idea it was her until we had exchanged a couple of emails! I tried to convince her that she should cruise with us, but it didn't fit into her schedule this time.

Beth,
I vote for "done"on the logo. Thank you so much for working on it. I also would appreciate it if you could print out our transfers for Jasmine and me. I've got a color inkjet, but it's an older one and I'm not sure how well the design would print out. I will be happy to pay whatever you want!!

I'll definitely buy the book as soon as it comes out. I'm in the "pre" stages right now, and have been quite moody all week. One more thing to put on my pre-trip list "see Doc about more drugs..."

Just please no tearjerker movies on the ship!

Has anyone seen the website cruisebruise.com? It's run by some folks who are out to prove how dangerous cruising can be to your health. But the writeups regarding all the incidents at sea sure do make for some interesting reading. Of course most of them seem to be alcohol related "imagine that?"

There's also a great thread on the main cruise forum with tons of artwork for magnets.

Don't be ashamed, every family has "one". For us, it is our son. Where did we go wrong?:confused3

Speaking of older women. I would rather be an older woman than dead. I hope to some day be a much older woman.

I have plans to become a much older woman, too. Unfortunately, it isn't going to take me long enough to get there!

My husband was the one in our family who wasn't into the whole Disney thing. That explains the fact that we didn't revisit WDW from 1982 - 2001. When I came into a bit of money, I offered him two choices--either come with me or to WDW or stay home. We compromised on a land/sea package because I didn't really want to cruise and he didn't really want to go to the parks. Now, in 128 days we'll be doing both for the the seventh time and making our 12th visit to WDW since 2001. See? There's always hope that people will come to their Disney senses!

The only thing that will get me thru this is knowing he is an inlaw, not a blood relative. However, Spoiledbrats3 cannot say that as it is her father! :rotfl2: How he raised 2 such great kids is the  . :lmao: :rotfl2:

 Yes, our family has "one" too. My Dad is "Anti-Rat" as he calls Mickey Mouse.::MickeyMo I never went to WDW as a child. Maybe, I am rebelling now that I have my own kids. I love seeing their faces light up when we walk into the parks. :dance3: It is priceless! :goodvibes

checking in.... any new news?

updates?

room numbers?

changes?

upgrades?

:flower3:

If any of you in the "DIS section" on Deck 6 need to get away, you can always visit us in "steerage" on Deck 2:rotfl2:.

Actually, we love Deck 2. We were there on our B2B in Nov. of 2005. We wanted the same location, but it was already booked, but we're as close as we could get.

We've never been upgraded in six cruises, but that's fine with us. We like the inside cabins!

Beth

We have never been upgraded either, but we are CAT12 GTY this time so we will have to wait and see where we land. We have been on deck 5, 6, 7 and 2. All are fine spots! Actually my least favorite was SPH on deck 5. I kept forgetting to close the drapes and the workers would show up outside our window! Not something I expected in the middle of the ocean. DrHug had to keep reminding me that I was probably going to damage those young men for life if I did not shut the drapes! :lmao: :rotfl:

no upgrades for us ever either.. we normally book cat 6... weve been on like 7 cruises i think now with DCL and we never get upgrades..

some ppl are so lucky.. but not me.. :sad2:

oh well..

We've actually been pretty lucky w/ upgrades. Our first cruise we booked a Cat 9, and were upgraded to a handicapped Cat 5 on deck 7. The room was huge...even had a walkin closet!

Second cruise we booked a cat 7, and no upgrade.

Third cruise (Med) we booked a cat 11. Then changed to a cat 12 gty when the prices dropped. We ended up in a cat 11 midship on deck 6!

This cruise I booked a cat 7 and found out it's one of the secret verandah rooms!:yay:

So there is hope for all of us!pirate:
