We can finally post that we are sailing definitely on this cruise. We are booking independent tours on St. Maarten and a sailing 1/2 day adventure in St. Thomas.

We are a 30-something couple with a 4.5 year old daughter. For privacy reasons, we are hesitant to give our exact details or our cabin.

We are thinking asking another couple with a child of similar age if they want to book a 1/2 sailing charter with us. We do not think our daughter will be into snorkeling (she's afraid the fish will bite), so we are looking to be flexible and do a sail swim. We have them down to two. The Ike Witt or the Jolly Mon. I have a thread in the main forum with pros and cons of each. If no one comes, we will just charter it privately. The boats only take six.

Ok so Now I have a question....

We are leaving on Thursday for DCL Wonder.. but I only JUST now noticed that DH & I have 2 seperate cards and the other couple we are with are listed Together on 1 card.. Does this mean anything?

Let me try and explain this better.. DH and I received 2 seperate booklets of papers where they received 1 booklet with both their names on it...

Welcome aboard, Amber! We have 3 couples in the group sailing with DH and I that are 30 somethings. DH is 60 something and I am late 50 something. My Dsis is also going (she's just a bit older than me) and my 82 yo DMom. Lots of other nice folks in this group. I know you will have a great time. Feel free to join in.

I LOVE the story about passing on the boarding passes. I'll be sure to have DB and DSis get some cards for their cabin when we enter the terminal. Maybe we can help some Dissers out too!

I know other DISers will appreciate getting on board 10 minutes sooner! DISers are always the group chomping at the bits to get on board. Including DrHug and I.

Ok so Now I have a question....

We are leaving on Thursday for DCL Wonder.. but I only JUST now noticed that DH & I have 2 seperate cards and the other couple we are with are listed Together on 1 card.. Does this mean anything?

I don't know why that would be, but as long as my name is associated with a stateroom and I have confirmation that I am on that ship, I am happy!

oh yea and... Has anyone ever requested.. when you just board the ship after the pictures and they announce your name... Can you ask them to say Happy Birthday?? The couple we are going with, well it is His birthday on the 20th, the day we board...

DH & I soooooooooo need to embarass him ALL weekend..

I don't know why that would be, but as long as my name is associated with a stateroom and I have confirmation that I am on that ship, I am happy!

That was the 1st thing I checked.. We are ALL listed as in our Cabin..

There are 7 of us traveling together for a long overdue family reunion. My DD is 9, but I'm sure she'll love meeting your little girl!

We have a meet scheduled at 3pm on embarkation day - Deck 10 starboard. Hope to see you there!

Very strange. I love sailing DCL, but they do some wacky stuff sometimes. I hope they really beef up their landbased operations before the new ships come out.

As long as you are all showing up online then you should be fine.

Oh, I'll bet they'll do it. You could slip little pieces of paper to each CM you encounter asking them to say Happy Birthday to your friend. If you could manage without him seeing it, it'll really freak him out.

Welcome aboard Amber and family! We're not traveling with kids, just two "50+" adults. Next year it's "cruise with the family" time again.

For those who asked me to print the T shirt logo--whatever you asked for will be on the way by the end of the week. I'll send you a PM after I drop them at the post office.

In one week, we finally get to book PALO.

We want Sunday for Brunch and Thursday for dinner. Crossing Fingers.

We have confirmed the half day charter with the Jolly Mon, leaving at 9AM when we are at St. Thomas. We are just doing a sail and swim because our daughter is a bit iffy right now about swimming with the fish. She is afraid she will be bitten by a shark. In 2.5 months she could be just fine.

We are doing an all day private tour on St. Maarten. We rented a car last time we were there and we spent so much time in traffic, we said nexwt time someone else is gonna do the driving!!!

Oh, I'll bet they'll do it. You could slip little pieces of paper to each CM you encounter asking them to say Happy Birthday to your friend. If you could manage without him seeing it, it'll really freak him out.

You also may want to have them wear the Disney "Happy Birthday" pin as they will receive alot of attention for this. Jennifer and I wore the Anniversary ones for our 10th last year and every Cast Member to a tee mentioned "Happy Anniversary" to us. It was amazing how every person noticed it and said something. That should do the embarassment trick.

I'd ask. Disney seems to want to make you happy and feel special. They just might do it.

We decided to drive, so we are going to stock up at St. Thomas. No worries about weight limits flying back with a bunch of bottles of cheap booze.

We have found that Costco in California is almost as cheap for booze as the Caribbean! We stopped buying on our cruises and purchase at Redding, CA Costco on our roadtrips to Disneyland! One trip I had an entire basket filled to the brim and when I got to the checkout the clerk said, "Washington or Oregon?" Um, that would be Oregon!

Has anyone been upgraded or visited by the fairy. We are in a Cat 7 and called about a 3. There were some available, but now there are not. We expect it might change after final payment is due.

We are thinking of upgrading from a 7 to a 4 at the port if available just for the spot of extra room. It would not make sense for us to go to a 6 or 5 just for a more open verandah.

Yes, I did think of this.. I was planning on getting him the button.. Now I need to find a way to make sure he wears it..
