I did not mean to congratulate myself on the pirate: . I just assumed that since I had no pirates, I would still have no pirates. Oh well, the congratulating myself is perfect since I have been talking to myself so much lately.

I am starting to get worried about Brack. He hasn't been around in some time.

I wonder where Beth is right now? I have never traveled on a train but we do have one that runs in front of our house once a day and it is very loud. Is it loud when you are in the train?
:cool1: We are one day closer!:cool1:

I just got an email from Heath Song with a list of the toys they sell which are made in America. They also have free shipping. DS wants a Flying Turtle and I will order it tonight. No sales tax and free shipping. What a deal.

I think he said he was going away for a few days.. :confused3 I'd have to look way back in posts..

They are not that loud inside. The kids and I rode AMTRAK from LA to Portland when we moved here. 27 hour trip. It was a very cool trip. Dennis had driven up here a month before we came. My grandpa used to be a station master, so I grew up loving trains. :goodvibes

I am thinking of taking a train trip with my kids this spring. What would be a good length for our first trip? I don't want us to hate it and be stuck. We did a 3 night for our first cruise. I can't believe I said "Well, if we hate it we are only on the ship four days." We booked another while we were on the first cruise, it was Disney of coarse. I am scared to try anything else.

Where do you live? I think your first trip should be where there is great scenery, and long enough that you really get the experience including meals. The LA to San Francisco trip is right up the coast and beautiful. I have also taken the train from Portland to southern Oregon, which is about a 4 hour ride and although the scenery thru the mountains is wonderful it is not long enough to have a meal in the dining car.
