Clark and Dave differ on Debit cards. Dave is all for them, Clark calls them piece of trash fake Visas. We use American Express for EVERYTHING and pay it off every month.

Dave would say do the envelope system after you budget and pay cash or use the debit card. He says people spend about 18% less when they pay cash because laying out three $20s has some pain to it, where charging $60 has no emotion attached. We just do not want that kind of cash lying around the house but we are going to try it.

Our first goal is to get a will and life insurance. The people we want DD to go has changed but now that we are traveling without her we know a will is important.

We need a will too. I won't be able to sleep tonight thinking DH brother might fight to get our kids. I thought about letting DD(18) get them if she wants. I don't think DS and DD could make it with out big DD if something happened to myself and DH. But then she is only 18. We have husbands best friend who we supported during the last six years of his medical education. He is stable but has three of his own and two neices already.

They were samples left over from DrHug's Watkins Man "His Store at Your Door" days.

Just checked on rebate for three phones I bought last month. They have the info but must verify or something. I was hoping to get the check before we leave. Why do they not just take the money off the price of the phones?

They hope lots of folks won't bother to send them in.

Who will take care of your children is the hardest decision to make. We had one person designated to care for them and another designated to manage their money. Now they are grown and have no money so no worries about that!

Good idea with two people. Now even more decisions. DD(18) is really good with her own money but spends mine like it grows on trees. I guess we could make a plan for how we want the money spent on the kids.

DGS8 has called us 4 times this evening. He sailed with us last Dec. First call he said he really wants to meet us at Disneyland again, then he said he'd really like to go on the cruise again and see the pirate ship. We have not told him we are sailing again. Dennis wondered if he sensed it is the same time of year. Or maybe his parents said something about us going. They live in Lancaster, CA. This is the first time he has gotten hold of his Daddy's phone and called us on his own. We miss him.

It is cold They are talking maybe snow on the valley floor tomorrow morning, meaning in Portland proper not just in the hills. In the 30s tonight, upper 40's during the day. A bit colder than normal for us. We should be in the 50's with lows in the 40's.
