OK, Jim just called with a question--most unusual, since he isn't supposed to make outgoing calls from work!

When you rent a tux from Cruiseline Formals are the ties pre-tied? And if not, does anyone here have a clue how to tie one? The last time he wore a tux was in 1975, and the groom in that wedding tied his tie for him! I told him I could tie it in a big clown bow, but he didn't really seem too impressed.;)

Beth

My husband will tie it for him if need be.

OK, it's official! I'm shutting down my computer, turning off all my "gadgets" and heading out the door.

While I'm not going anywhere until Friday, one of the places I'm not going is HERE!

I'll be around later--gotta get home and celebrate! Today is DDIL's birthday, and although we're not celebrating until next week (she chose Boma), I really should at least wish her a Happy Birthday!

Am I the first one to officially start vacation? Do I get a pirate for that?

Beth

Krisann, you need to slow down and take care of yourself! Get some meds and take a nap.:goodvibes

No time! I have been taking meds - mostly at night - kids are homeschooled so I am it. I take my meds at night because they make me go to sleep but I think I have a sinus infection and need to go and get some antibotics. Will try to do that on Thursday and get a Zpack to knock this out.

Things to do before monday:

Print 300 programs for the Home Tour (after the final proof)

hang the rest of the lights outside

finish decorating the living room

fill the new cabinet with dishes - arrange the dining room

put up the big and little tree in the dining room

complete and mail Christmas cards and holiday open house (on december 21st) invitations

wrap all my hubby's gifts that are unwrapped under the tree right now

wrap gifts and mail 6 boxes of stuff to out of town gifts.

for Orlando/WDW/Cruise:

find a car rental to take to shuttle launch

find shirts for hubby and son for formal night

pack for cruise

find beach towels for cruise (they are here in the house)

pick up my formal jacket from seamstress (I had the sleeves shortened)

buy shoes for daughter for formal night

buy son dress pants

fill out cruise documents

find hubby's old disney ticket (I know where mine and the kids are)

find our "hands", lime green t-shirt, pins/lanyards and our disney button up shirts, autograph books,

decide what we are taking for an autograph keepsake

make a pluto stocking for my son (can't seem to buy one online - got daughter a tinkerbell one from Disney.com) unless anyone knows if they have one at Disney - but if I run out of time I will just get him one at WDW

decide on what stockings to bring for hubby and me I think I may bring one for both of us and have the kids just have separate? What is everyone else doing?

Make door signs

Order gift basket from Shirley's

Finish finding Secret Santa items (I may be making everyone something just alike as that might be easier for me!)

oh and I know I have other things do to . . . . I will think of them later . . .

Haven't had a chance to get caught up - been away too many days :rolleyes1

We went to the Very Merry Party last night - it was a quick trip. Left around 1:30 yesterday and got home at 11:30a this morning. The castle was beautiful all lit up. The crowds were not bad at all. QUOTE]

Do you really think the party is worth it? We are trying to decide to do it or not Thursday after the Shuttle - as it would be less crowded than the Saturday after the cruise. I can not seem to make up my mind.

OH AND GREAT NEWS! I had put in for tickets to the Martha Stewart show for the December 19th taping - you have to "apply" for the tickets and wait for an answer (I love Martha!) and I just got the email that we got tickets!!!!!

So now I have to on top of everything else make plane and hotel reservations for a quickie trip to New York (we have free plane tickets for all of us and enough hilton points for the 2 nights we will stay to be free!)

Of course this means we will get home from the cruise on Sunday the 16th, the tile in kitchen is scheduled to be put in on the 17th, we will leave for New York on the 18th, return on the 20th, have our open house on the 21st, Christmas on the 25th and hubby leaves again on the 29th

Soooo my to do list just got longer . . .

Oh but what fun!

It is a neat experience. I agree that it will be less crowded during the week. Do they have one on the Saturday after the cruise? I thought the weekend parties were on Friday and Sunday nights.

As far as it being worth the money...well that depends. The parade is different than the regular night time parade, but I like Spectromagic better than the special parades. The fireworks are incredible (as long as it doesn't rain). There are a few special shows and, of course, all the free cookies and hot chocolate you want. If you plan to watch all the shows, do the parade and fireworks, you probably won't get much ride time in.

My DH would probably say it wasn't worth the money. I tend to agree that it's a stretch to say it is "worth it," but I've been twice now, and you've never been. Our first experience was definitely the most magical.

My kids said they don't want to go to the Very Merry again, they would rather go to the Halloween party next year. We've done all of the special "parties." The kids like Halloween best...I like them all :-)

Okay, so I know this wasn't a very direct answer.:) Like I said at the beginning it really just depends - it's hard to judge whether or not another family will see things the same way we do. We are a little different :dance3:

Last night something was going on with our internet. Not sure but DS had to reset the Cable modem twice :confused3

ALL internet applications were running way too slow :badpc: and then just eventually stopped.. It would give me ar error that I was signed on twice :headache: and would shut me out

I have to work today at 10am and until what time, no one knows :hourglass I spoke with my boss yesterday and he asked me to come in and help with shipment. He found out it's a Biggie :scared:

As of Sunday, we sold 768 Rudolph and 763 Clarice :thumbsup2 We ran out of sounds again and should be getting 1 last box of the Rudolph songs today. We were named on a Conference call as having sold the Most for the Tri State area :thumbsup2

I have off Thursday - Saturday :dance3: unless of course they get busy. I'm always the 1st one they call and ask if I can come in, since I have the most flexable schedule. My boss calls me The Queen of the Call Ins princess: I come in even when Not on call.. :upsidedow

I usually work 3 days a week. My boss asked me what my availablity is for next week and I said anyday but Friday (which I aready put in for). So I am working 9 - 3 m-th, I am like wow..why, you didn't even give me that many hours over the summer when I could have worked longer!! He says they expect to be busy. I am surprised considering how swamped we were with back to school, and I don't see us being as busy as that for the holidays. But what do I know!!

I also found out that the main mgr wasn't happy that I was shopping on Friday, and not working...but oh well... DH works, and I was home before he had to work.

oooohhh just noticed my Ticker for September went down to 9 months  I need to pack ;)

I thought I'd pick your brains a little. I do have some ideas but.... My friend, her hubby & their almost 3 year old daughter would like me to make reservations for them for Meals and things at Disney World for January. Any suggestions?

I said definately the Princess Breakfast in Epcot as a Must Do for their daughter.. For her Mommy's surprise party in October, she changed 5 times into various Princess Dresses.. She was the little mermaid with the red hair no wig needed picture I posted a little ways back :cutie:

They will we staying at our house so they won't qualify for the dinning plan.

They will have a Rental Car because they are visiting friends in Tampa and driving to Disney and staying for 2 nights only. Then flying home from Orlando..

It depends, what characters does she like. There is CP at MK, there is Ohana's for bkfast at Poly, and the wonderful Chef Mikceys. If she likes the Little Einsteins, then there is the buffet rest at MGM.

I need to get a room at Cape Canaveral. How did you choose County Inn and Suites? Have you stayed there before?

We stayed at the Residence Inn in August, and we loved it. They serve free hot breakfast every morning. Nice pool, we didn't get to use it but it was nice.

:confused3  No body's business what you do on your time off I would think. :sad2:

Worth it! :thumbsup2 We went a couple of years ago, and as has been said the first time is very magical! We are going again on the 6th this year since we have lots of family that are first time WDW visitors with us and we want to share that magic with them also.

We have 2 cats. I really want a ferret, but in our 700 sq foot appartment thats all we are allowed to have. Plus it might turn into a zoo here!

DH wanted a ferret too. We had one for a short time, it was a rescue, dh ran a small animal rescure for a few years. They really really smell though! I was very glad when we adopted it out.

We have three cats, three dogs, two guinea pigs, a rabbit, a chinchilla, a hamster and loads of fish. It's a good thing we have a big house!

Beth

We have 1 dog, 2 cats, 2 fish. We lost 1 dog and 1 fish last year :(.

We had as many as 15 or more rabbits at one point. All because of my sil!! She started it all. My neice "won" a rabbit from camp one summer. They knew nothing about them. They were going on vacation, so asked if we could bunny sit. Turns out the rabbit was pregnant. So we took care of mom, kept the babies (i think we lost 2), and gave them back the mom. So, the rescue started. Did we have lots of bunnies!! Dh learned everyehting he could about them. Sil and brother eventually dumped their rabbit at a pet store. He should have given her to us, we would have gotten her a good home. DH was so po'ed!!

I am glad we are down to what we have. Very hard to go on vacation with animals!

Sorry to hear about the loss of your pets. My kitties are getting older and i can't imagine being without them.
My mom is our petsitter. She used to own/run a in home pet sitting company and was glad to move onto other things. So im not sure if she appreciates having to come over twice a day to feed our spoiled cats! Plus, she told us if we got a ferret we would have to find someone else.

We arrive in Florida on Dec 7, at 10:00am. Good ole TED moved our flight up from leaving Chicago at 8:00am to 6:30am! I hate getting up at 3:00 am even to go on vacation. We are staying at the airport Hyatt. Hopefully it will be warm and sunny and we can relax at the pool all day.
Who else is staying at the Hyatt that night?

Enjoy the pool. My kids loved it when we stayed there in August. It is a very nice hotel. The staff was wonderful.
