LOL, that's Chicago?? I always thought it was Greek!! :lmao:

Actually I think the owner of the Billy Goat is Greek. John Belushi made the Billy Goat famous on Saturday Night Live. (Cheeseborger, cheeseborger. No Coke, Pepsi. No fries, chips.)

George Wendt and crew's skit on SNL made Da Bearsh famous by poking fun at Da Bearsh Fans.

The original owner of the Billy Goat Tavern tried to take his goat into the ballpark the last time the Cubs were in the World Series, the goat was not allowed, so he put a curse on the Cubs saying they will never win a World Series. Thus the Curse of the Billy Goat. The Cubs still haven't broken the curse. This is a very famous story in Chicago, ask any Cub fan.

Jim has a Brooklyn accent--very strange, since he grew up in Hudson County, New Jersey! I used to have a very pronounced Jersey City accent, but it's not bad now after years of living in South Jersey and now at the Jersey Shore.

I enjoy meeting people from all over, and finding out about where they live. I love to travel, I'll go anywhere!

was looking over the navigators for the eastern cruise last week and realize that I have Palo reservations on Pirate night. At first I thought maybe I should change it BUT here are some things thinking it will be ok to keep it but want some input from others who may have had Palo on Pirate night.

  • We have main seating - so our dinner time with the kids will be early
  • Palo dinner is not till 9 pm
  • We are going on the May Repo cruise so we can do pirate night then
  • Last year on our cruise it was so crowded and we left early
  • The activities listed for the kids club sound great during our Palo time so I think the kids will have just as much fun doing that as they have done the deck party before.

Now here are some questions if anyone might know:

What time are the fireworks?
Can you see the fireworks from Palo?
Depending on the time of the fireworks - the kids will be playing dodge ball on the sports deck from 10 - 11 so will they get to see the fireworks?

Keep in mind the fireworks are not a deal breaker - we will see plenty at the parks before and after.

We do not really dress up for pirate night beyone the scarves they give out and we will have time to go back and change for Palo. And no we do not plan to eat a big meal at dinner - just snack - to save room for our Palo dinner.

Hi All  Checking in.. can't play catch up til later..

I've been having Bad migrains off and on since Wednesday.. I was suppose to work today at 7am.. but my boss called and said call at 11 it is was too slow to have more people in right now.. :woohoo:

I told him about the migrains and he said If he can get someone to cover for me later, he will and I won't need to come in at all :dance3:

DS works 5 - 8 and then has a Birthday party to go to for a friend tonight..

Off I go to bed for a bit..

Hope all is well with you each

We don't dress up either. I don't have room in my suitcase for more stuff! My own opinion is that you should keep the Palo reservation. Pirate night was "OK", but I'd really rather enjoy Palo, especially since you know that you'll be cruising again. I doubt that you can see the fireworks from Palo, although I'm not sure. They're fired from outside the restaurant (in fact that deck will be closed off).

Stacy:

I've been having headaches this week, too. I really think it's the changing weather. Once it settles down we should be fine!

I hope you feel better!

Good morning!

Today is DH birthday. I am about to take him to get a Green Egg. Not sure we'll know what to do with the thing but he wants to try. He already invited 14 people over for dinner. I will be making a backup dish incase the new grill doesn't work. :thumbsup2

Also, I did not get a cake. I may have to bake but I always do a poor job baking. Last two times I made a cake, no one could eat the thing.

I'll be back this afternoon.

Happy birthday to your DH.

Congrats to the Aggies and goodbye Fran.

Wish UGA luck today and hope the Vols lose.

It is a day of football here between the UGA/GATech game and then Mizzou at Kansas for my Foutlaw.

:cheer2: HOW BOUT THEM DAWGS!:cheer2:

We won't get to watch because we still don't have TV. I think DH will go to a bar to see the game while I get to cook.:sad1:

As I am wrapping gifts and packing for the cruise I realized I needed a breakdown of the Secret Santa things so I did an excel spread sheet on people so I could plan correctly. This is what I came up with (I think I got it rigt):

Adults - 58

Baby (ages 0-2)
Boy - 3
Girl - 2

Child (ages 3-7)
Boy - 10
Girl - 6

Tween (ages 8-12)
Boy - 3
Girl - 2

Teenager (13-18)
Boy - 3
Girl - 1(maybe)

I just had to have a breakdown for my planning! This is helping me empty out my little gift items - especially for the kids! I am going to do up one little packet for each person in some cute Christmas bags I found. I will need an extra suitcase just for Secret Santa!:scared1:

Hey thanks for that break-down, that helps! Of course, half of them are mine, so we didn't need it as much as you all! :p

No this will help, I'd rather bring just the right amount of stuff rather than way too much.... of course, that just frees up space on the return for my DW'ss shopping... Hmmm, I'm screwed either way!

My youngest daughter suffers with this problem too. She has to go the hospital sometimes, it is so bad. She has been to several specialist. She is now on some type of nose spray.[/quote]

Is she using Imitrex? That's what I use and it works miracles!

Bless your heart! That's exactly why I just logged on. Now I can finish my shopping! Just be warned, everyone--I'm a very practical person, and all of my gifts are useful!:thumbsup2

OK, I may be very practical, but I'm not too smart! I just counted and re-counted and counted again, and I kept coming up short some gifts. Umm, I didn't get anything for Jim or me! :lmao:So I'm actually in better shape than I thought I was!

Thanks - I figured if I needed it so did at least one other person did too!

I did not break the adults down by women/men because not all of them were listed out - some just said 4 adults - but I can tally the for sures if anyone needs that number.

Oh and if anyone needs to know - the total count - adults and children is 88. I needed to know because I am putting my gifts in little christmas lunch bags with tags as to if it is a girl, boy, adult, baby, etc. to keep myself sane with this many items!

Oh and I need to call Shirley and see if she does stockings filled with snacks for the kids to have when we board and then I will use those for their stockings on the door - oh and I have to go buy the magnetic hooks to hang them from! Oh I really do need to go out shopping this week!

WELL THAT STINKS! I was going to have the room decorated for Christmas using the Disney service BUT they do not start that till December 15th! I would have thought they would offer this ALL of December. :(

Krisann thanks for that breakdown, I really needed that...did it myself a few nights ago but wasn't sure. Good to see the same totals. :thumbsup2

I started to reply to your Palo ? on the main board, then saw it here...we are also booked for Pirate night @8;30, see you there? ;) Actually we really, really want to change it, but it's the ONLY time we've ever managed to get in all my attempts to book Palo. We really want to do the pirate party as a family, and have costumes for all of us. But if we have to, we'll dine lightly with the kids and go to Palo long enough to see it and have maybe appies and dessert. But this is our first cruise, and it's all new to us. :hyper:

Stacy hope you get to rest and hope you're feeling better soon.

Happy birthday to dh! And, um, "Green Egg"? Is that a tribute to Dr. Suess?? :confused3

Happy Saturday everyone. In 2 weeks we'll be ON THE SHIP (or nearly, at any rate.) :cool1:
