I think I get what the "double dip" is, but why would someone choose to do a cruise this way? Especially a 3 then 4 nighter?

Ok, so I have a question. Robby and I are driving down to Disney Thursday night before the cruise. Unless something unforseen happens or we hit a huge amount of traffic somewhere, we should arrive to Disney around 9:00am. What we were thinking of doing is going and spending the morning/early afternoon at DTD and have lunch and then drive over to the port that afternoon and checkin. Here's my question: does anyone know of a reason to get to the port earlier???We are staying at the Country Inn and Suites and taking the shuttle over to the port in the morning. Does anyone know if when you check in there if there are slots that you sign up for on the shuttle and if you get there later you get a later shuttle?? Or is it whoever shows up first the morning of the cruise gets on the first shuttle?? Anyone confused yet? Thanks!!!!!
Ever dined at the Whispering Canyon Cafe?

Let them do the activities they have at AK and just animal watch...We are staying at Animal Kingdom the two nights before the cruise. Do you think it would be really bad if I don't take the kids to the parks? We are driving over to watch the shuttle launch and it will take all of Thursday. Then, maybe we could hangout at the hotel and DTD?
Ok... you guys have really made me hungry. Now I'm thinking I might have to make a McD's run.![]()
