Oh, dh is talking to his mom right now, he needs me to help him with the details! We'll be visiting his family on the way home.

The luggage tags used to be completely different. They were some yellow contraption that you had to wrap around and back through itself. I always thought they'd get ripped off, but they always stayed on.

These new ones look a lot more like actual airline luggage tag things.

Congrats!

:lmao: I'd probably be so out of it from being woken from a dead sleep, I'd still run outside buck naked. :scared:

Speaking of mothers-in-law, I actually have a funny story about waking from a dead sleep and running out buck naked...but that'll wait til I've had a few drinks of the day and know you better! ;)

 Thanks!

I actually thought we'd have longer since JoAnne was mostly talking to herself. :lmao:

Then someone showed up like a true pirate: !! :rotfl: pirate: radar!

:scared:

I have a funny story involving my sister-in-law. I'll tell it at the same time! :lmao:

Okay, now that the pressure's off :rotfl: I promised the kids we'd watch one Magic School Bus before bedtime...see you later!

ok I know what I am going to ask can be debated very much but I wanted to ask here on our group instead of on the main board for that very reason.

I have read that jeans are allowed for dinner on causal nights in the dining room. I have read all the issues people have for and against this and on our last cruise we did not wear jeans at all to dinner BUT this time I am considering it.

Here is why - we all have coordinating Christmas sweaters that I want us to wear one night and really want pictures taken in them BUT the only bottoms that we all have the same are jeans - nice jeans - no holes, tears, etc. - and I always have a picture like that taken each year.

So will I ask here do you all think we will feel totally out of place wearing nice jeans and Christmas sweaters to one of the casual night dinners?

Thanks

DH and I wear jeans to dinner on casual nights. We don't feel out of place at all. I don't understand why people on the main board get so uptight about this.:confused3 DCL says that jeans are acceptable so wear them and don't worry about what others think.:goodvibes

Hi Krisann. I have no experience for you so can't help with your question, though personally I can't imagine objecting to a cute matching family!!

I have a question too. I'm wondering how cosy the staterooms are...I'm guessing they might be stuffy so we'd want to carry summer-weight jammies. OTOH, maye it's a situation where the AC makes it cool? :confused3

I am always cold at night so I bring very light weight winter pajamas.

I sleep in summer pj's all year long so I have no idea - I just have extra blankets and I do not remember it being an issue last time.

JoAnne,

On the same subject... does anyone else refuse to sleep in the buff on the cruise just caues there "might" be a situation where you'd be called out to your muster station? :rotfl:

With the kids in the room we do not at night but last cruise while the kids were in the clubs (they could not sign themselves out) I took a shower and laid down on the bed under the sheet with nothing on. But it was a good thing I had a sheet on me as I saw someone outside my window when i woke up! They were washing the windows! (I think we were in port - as we did not get off the ship except for CC).

Of course then we did the Couples Spa Villa where you get the hottub on the balcony for 30 minutes or so in private and everyone said it was ok to not wear a suit in the hot tub (we were having massages afterwards) and we were at sea and it was so cool just relaxing there - but only for the first 5 minutes when I realized not only was there a guy on the next balcony over peeping around at us popcorn:: but you could see people up on the deck too! :scared1: So never doing that again - I have been exposed or almost exposed on that trip more than ever before! Needless to say I will have my PJ's on all the time on the cruise.

OTOH, I wonder how my new neighbours feel about the flood light on the manger scene and the inflatable snowmen in their full glory tonight on our lawn?? It's not even Dec yet, but I think we'll actually take in those two pieces when we go away, as it'd break our hearts to come back and find them stolen. So they'll only have a week or two to get used to them!

We purchased a cool merry-go-round last year and someone stole it out of the yard during the daytime we think. We went to plug it up and it was not there. :sad2: The kids were so disapointed - now we only do things TIED to the house, trees, etc. so it will be harder for them to steel things.

Robby has a similar story with my dad, his DFIL, that he'll have to share after a few drinks as well. Needless to say, it sounds like we've all had a few "Kodak Moments".

I sleep in my "drawers" year round. I'll do the same on the cruise. :lmao:

I just got an email from the lens rental place, I should be receiving my reserved lenses on Thursday or Friday. I can't wait to play with the new glass. I've got a 10-22mm and a 300 f/4 prime for my Rebel XT. I plan on spending a couple of days learning them both.

Hi Everyone !!
Hope all is well with each of you.. Hope your Thanksgiving went well..
My migrains finally went away.. :woohoo:

I can't believe in less then 2 weeks we will be on the cruise !! :yay:

DH came home a day early and he brought home Gingerbread People :goodvibes They were yummy with tea.. and PINS!!!

I got all of our Christmas cards signed, sealed and postage stamped.. Ready for the mailbox when we get back from the cruise... Maybe I will mail them the day we leave..

I am still working on my Dis DCL Scrapbook  But I will definately have it done before we leave and ready for all of you to sign..

I have a few things to do and may be back in a bit

Too Funny! :lmao:

We were on the cruise that the Magic actually did have a fire in the smoke stack and we were called to our muster station at 4AM.

We were invited to 3 different places for Thanksgiving.. 4 counting Angie's invite ;)

Where were you?? We had the places set for you and everything!! :rotfl:

Hi! Cooking two turkeys, stuffing, mashed potatoes, a whipped sweet potato dish, wonton sausage appetizers, gravy, and rolls for about 30 people. We're eating early because the Packers play at 12:30 and I am going to watch them, and NOT be cooking. :)

So, Jason...YOU do the Thanksgiving cooking at your house??? Gravy, whipped potatoes and all?

Good Evening!

This cooking thing is for the birds. I have never made Thanksgiving before and WOW is it a lot of WORK.

I think I am doing okay. I did drop the Turkey though.:rotfl2:

Going to try to catch up.

:rotfl: Last year I caught the oven on fire! Decided the turkey was done enough at that point! :rotfl:

We are watching the Jets and Cowboys game. We ate and had the kitchen cleaned up and in the dishwasher within an hour and 15 minutes.

I did 6 dishwasher loads. My clean up help did not come through like usual. :confused3 THe last two loads I did on Friday morning.

We went to Best Buy after lunch. It was not as bad as I expected.

I was looking at a small Canon camera for DW but came away with a Fugi digital camera instead. It is 12megapixel  That is more than my Canon XTi and it is only about the size of my palm. :confused3 I hope it helps her take more pictures.

Brack, Dennis bought his Canon 40D. :rolleyes1

Oh and if anyone needs to know - the total count - adults and children is 88. I needed to know because I am putting my gifts in little christmas lunch bags with tags as to if it is a girl, boy, adult, baby, etc. to keep myself sane with this many items!
oh and I have to go buy the magnetic hooks to hang them from! Oh I really do need to go out shopping this week!

Our gift are generic...for the family stuff.

The stockings will hang from the hook on the fish by the door. No magnet needed for them. :)

Angie, I think you mentioned a reading of 'Twas The Night Before Christmas, is it the same night as the tree lighting? I don't want to miss either. Any chance they also read Polar Express?

They are not the same night. Tree lighting is early in the cruise. Maybe first night. Mrs Clause reads late in the cruise. Just check the navigators.

I have read that jeans are allowed for dinner on causal nights in the dining room. I have read all the issues people have for and against this and on our last cruise we did not wear jeans at all to dinner BUT this time I am considering it.

You host (DCL) says jeans are fine. You will not feel out of place. We do not take or wear jeans simply because we are in the Caribbean and it is quite warm and jeans are heavy to pack. DrHug wears khakis because they are cooler and lighter to pack. 50 lbs is not very much if I put in 4 or 5 pair of adult (ok LARGE adult! :rotfl: ) jeans.

I have a question too. I'm wondering how cosy the staterooms are...I'm guessing they might be stuffy so we'd want to carry summer-weight jammies. OTOH, maye it's a situation where the AC makes it cool? :confused3
We hve never found them stuffy. But as someone else said, just tell your stateroom host if you are not comfortable.

LOL Julie. Here's reason # 231: with little ones it's dicey to sleep in the buff anytime! Dh is still grumbling about that particular aspect of parenthood. (TMI?? )

When oldest DD (that would be Sweetpea who is sailing with us) was 2 she told a waitress in a very crowded restaurant that "Mommy does not wear jammies" :rotfl: :rotfl: :scared1: Who would have thought at 2!!! Mommy started wearing jammies! :rotfl:

Robby has a similar story with my dad, his DFIL, that he'll have to share after a few drinks as well. Needless to say, it sounds like we've all had a few "Kodak Moments".

DrHug has a great FIL one also! :rotfl:  We will have to get together and share these stories!

All caught up. Now I need to go put all the chairs back in the garage and get DrHug to help me with the tables. Then I'll have Thanksgiving all undone! Niece and Nephew could not take the Thanksgiving stuff home since they had an extra kid (my brother brought one with him who wanted to stay thru the weekend with the rest of us rather than going home Thursday evening) AND she did too much Black Friday shopping so they were out of room. They will make a special trip over to pick it up, so I had to pack it all away one more time. :sad2:
