Hi Stacy!

I'm kinda here, but I finally got my new computer tonight (!!!) so I'm in and out of other windows setting things up to my liking.

I've gotten so used to living with a computer geek that I'd forgotten how much trouble pre-built systems are. Straight out of the box, the thing had 77 processes running at boot up! I mean...geez. I know the computer makers get paid by all these software companies to pre-load all this junk on here, but seriously, for the pennies per machine they're probably making for it, I'd rather pay them another $20 bucks just to get a clean machine. Geez.

DH was able to illiminate about half of them right off the bat, so that got it running at a more respectable speed. But I'm still tinkering.

That's one of the reasons I switched to a Mac

Oh, Good Morning Everyone! We're up and around earlier than normal. Some video game comes out today and my son wants to get it at Toys R Us with his birthday money. They have a deal - by the game (Super Mario Galaxies) and get a $25 gift card. My boys are great bargain shoppers

The other day at a yard sale my oldest picked up a Madden 08 Xbox 360 game, still shrinkwrapped for $6. He didn't want the game, but he knew he could probably get 30+ for it on trade or sell on ebay. He traded it yesterday at Gamestop for $35 and put the money towards another game he was preordering. Slick, huh?

I guess I won't get to DIS much until later - after we get back from shopping and the boys get started on their schoolwork.

UH oh. That stateroom does not get good reports as apparently it is over the theatre. Reports list it as being noisy.

Don't worry Krisann, the last show is over by 10:15 or so. After that the theatre is empty.

well it looks like we got upgraded from our 10 to an 8! It is down from the kids clubs which since our kids love them and we have agreeded they can stay till 1 am this time if they want this will be great! So we will now know when it is morning and night. Nice surprise but we are just glad to be on the ship!

Oh and did I ever mention that this cruise is also in memory of my mother? Her birthday was December 8th and she died 4.5 years ago at the age of 53 - she was my best friend (aside from my hubby) and I am an only child. She raised me from the time I was 6 when my parents divorced (father lived several states away and only saw him on vacations) so it has been really hard for me the past years. When I was a senior in high school she had planned to take us on a cruise but gave me the money to go to France for 2 weeks with the school instead. She never got to take a cruise. So this means a lot to me to be on it on her birthday.

That's a wonderful story Krisann. My Mom died 17 years ago, and I still miss her. She was only 53 also. She was able to take one cruise though. I've been cruising since I was 19, and I convinced her to take the Big Red Boat out of Port Canaveral. She ana friend did 4 days WDW and 3 nts on the ship, and had a great time!

I only bought my tickets 2 1/2 weeks ago, so...

I do not know what the secret Santa is,

I do not know what it means to get a pirate,

I did read something about lime green lanyards. That is the extent of my knowledge of the dis boards. Except, of course, that tonight I found out and old friend will be cruising too

If you'd like to participate in the Secret Mickey exchange (its not religion specific), just send a PM to Pfishgirl and me with your names, stateroom number, and the ages of the kids. I won't post the kids names on the blog, but folks are using that as a shopping list. Stacy (Pfishgirl) will hand out a list with all the stateroom numbers at the meet on Dec. 8th. Just let us now ASAP if you want to play so we can add you in.

I was going to PM you about the lanyards - I've been getting caught up at work the past few hours. (I'm in Belgium so I'm usually off 6-9 hours from all of you.) Right now we only have 52 people signed up for lanyards. I need to order at least 100, so I'd like to get close to that number. I don't mind having a few extra, but really don't want to have to worry about paying for an extra 50 lanyards, ya know? The lanyards will be lime green (the official color of the DIS) and will have a plastic holder for your room keycard. If you haven't heard, DCL is no longer handing out free lanyards at check in to the Castaway Club members.

If you still have questions about the pirate game, just let us know. It's silly, but really fun!

Stefanie, did that thumbs up mean you need to know about the lanyards too? Please see my answer above, and I'll repost the latest info on them. It got buried in the thread, before I could get caught up!!

We are! Being from the West Coast, we have to fly in the night before. We get in about 6pm. I figure we'll check in and then just grab something quick at the food court for dinner.

Yup, and in QL he leaped into the other person's body. DH said the same thing!!

Please let me know ASAP if you are interested in ordering a lime green lanyard. Cost should be around $3 each, and will include a plastic KTTW holder on the end.

They are sold in units of 100, and so far we are up to 57.

If we don't need 100 between all of us, I'll see if the DISers on one of the other sailings want to buy some. Of course, this would mean we'd need to go with the generic wording. (Stacy do you know how many you'd want if we do the generic wording?)

It looks like the general preference is for wording specific to our cruise, if we make the 100 mark. Suggestions so far are:

"DISing on the Disney Magic Dec 8-15 2007"
"DIS is how we do it on Dec 8th 2007"

I was planning on using the Waltograph font in a dark blue.

Anyone have any other suggestions???

We are late nighters anyway so that is not a big big deal - I was not able to find specific details on our cabin but the one next door had a good review so I am not worried. Can't be any worse than the luggage issue last time. And hey like I have said . . . At least I am on the ship! I would rather have a terrible room than not be on the trip!

Well considering the same people usually post a variant of the same thing over and over whey they are going for a pirate from about post #85/90-101, I did not think it necessary to ask for permission to post updates and frustration about the PALO Brunch. Funny how again the clique mentality takes over and it is okay for certain people to participate in how they see fit and not for others.

Next time I will be sure to post a variant of WE GET IT, YOU ARE GOING FOR A PIRATE! Tired of the play by play and see how those participants like it. Only two people had anything to say, so obviously it was not that big a deal. Just like I was told about my offense to talking about spanx in the context it was used on a family forum.

I must say, that I have been around message boards much longer than you. And not just here at the Dis. You have presumably been a member since September..2 months?? This particular thread is the least cliquish thread I have ever seen. The posters are warm, inviting, friendly all bending over backwards to welcome a new person.

And just because 2 of us said something to you, doesn't mean the others weren't thankful for it and cheering us on. I have the PM's to prove it.

I am the mother of 4 children. There has been absolutly nothing posted on this thread that I would have any problem with any of my 4 kids (ages 6, 11, 23 & 24) reading. It is all in good clean fun. The majority of us posting here are adults..not kids. And a double entendre now and then isn't a bad thing. The younger children wouldn't understand it and the older kids would be laughing. Same as with Disney/Pixar and Dreamworks movies. It is good fun, and the adult jokes are thrown in, that they adults find enjoyable...and the kids don't understand. So the thread is PG, instead of G.

There is no presumably about it. I have been a member since September. What does the amount of time one has been registered on a message board have to do with the cliquish nature of this thread? I have been on message boards since I was 13 and am now 27. So don't assume you have been on message boards longer than me. I post my frustration about the brunch over several posts. However the amount of screen space used is less than that of several posters who have posted multiple pictures or shots of their door signs. Just because it is only one post it sure takes up the same if not more amount of space.

Thank you! Bravo to you for proving my point about the clique on this thread going around PM'ng each other about a poster behind their back. Clique through and through. Yep you proved my point ever so eloquently. A bunch of sitting gossiping behind someone's back in the form of PM. Yep, sounds like a CLIQUE to me.

I'd also like to point out that your complaint about the pirate posts is rather hypocritical, as you seem to have gotten 9 pirates in this thread.

Take some of your own advice, and don't read posts if you don't like them. I seem to recall you posting that in this thread several times.

Nobody is being "clique"y. No one is conspiring against you. I know that everyone here has answered questions you have posted. I think you need to grow up.
