Ok, so maybe this is sacrilege...but I was just reading a Palo thread, and people here have mentioned rolling out of there...I don't find being stuffed romantic, you know? And I thought the Palo experience was, for couples at least, romantic. I know dh, and he's already plotting the duplicate courses...but I don't want us to eat ourselves into a tummy ache. I love white-glove-fine-linen service and find that sort of setting romantic, to be sure, but nothing's romantic if I'm too full.

I don't much like wasting food, and if I order something then chances are good most of it will get eaten. Is it possible to get smaller portions at least? Or is everything pre-plated? :confused3

Maybe we could focus on gluttony at brunch and lust at dinner. (I'm figuring most of the 7 Deadlies can get a workout before we come home. Sloth, yep. Greed, yep. Avarice and greed the same? What about covetousness and envy?? Don't see much need for those at least...Oh, anger, hope we can leave that at home--unless there are no Palo ressies to be had--but then I'd be swapping one for two if I don't get to go...)

We actually split some of the appetizers and saw some guests leave with to-go boxes that they put in the fridge in their room. Makes for a nice midnight snack. popcorn::

...So, my question is, are we stopping the pirate hunt at 10,000? Cause if we are, I figure it's going to be a busy night!!

Does anyone know, is there any point in trying to book a private table for tea this late? And how does that work? I counted 5 of us so far...total newbie at this but willing to take it on. Can one of us just take the others' numbers and try to book on arrival? After hours with a drink sounds nice, but I'm much more likely to be able to find leisurely kid-free time in the afternoon. (Especially as dh has said he doesn't "need" tea!)

What is a pirate and how do I get one? Also, what is tohe 40 second rule? Thanks!:yay:

Empty? :lmao: There has to be a few more people onboard because they raised the price for the lower cabins.

Still it will be nice to not be too crowded. :dance3:

If they are still not even close to capacity they could wait until the last minute to assign cabins in hopes that they will sell.

Why do they wait to assign cabins?

Problem is we are never IN our room. :confused3 Last cruise we did order cereal, toast, juice and such for breakfast on port days. Helped save us some time for those early excursions.

We ordered room service every night on the 3 nite cruise. We had early dinner, got back to the room around midnite. The kids were hungry. They wanted the famed milk and cookies, we ordered the infamous cheese plate, DS wanted a hot dog, we ordred salads and cheese steak. DS and DD inhaled the crackers and the grapes, DH ate the cheese. Both nites DS ate his entire hotdog and the fries. THe cheese steak was awesome. They never finished the cookies though..they ate the real food. We did this all three nites. Room service is YUMMY!!

I missed Heroes last night and the DVR ate the show. Should I go to the trouble of watching it online?

I would. It was REALLY good. Unless you want me or someone to tell you what happened, but that loses a lot of the effects. :thumbsup2

Well, the way I see it is, we HAVE to have the chocolate souffle (sp?) at Palo's. That's just a given. And then we can go to main dining and get something light, like an appetizer or desert, then on to pirate night and IF there's any reason that we get the munchies or something late, grab a turkey leg. Then again, we will be in the parks a few days later and we can get our turkey leg fix then! :thumbsup2 :lmao:

On the 3 nite, I didn't want to miss any of the rotations. Our head server was able to get us into Palo's for just dessert, and OMG, was the souffle devine!! It was wonderful and the staff, I can't say enough. The only thing DH wanted from pirate nite was a turkey leg, and they disappeared very quickly, so if you want one, grab it first!!

I was thinking that too, Brack. Considering how many cabins just sold recently because of the deal, we might not actually get our assignments at 30 days. :sad1:

As long as it keeps showing me as booked, I'm fine though :cheer2:

Heck, the only reason I am even on this cruise is because of the cut rate deal on Cat 12. I will take the 12 and be happy. Or, anything else and be happy. A real vacation...just me and DH for 7 nites... .

Grab it first, and give nothing back! Argh!

Why do they wait to assign cabins?

You get a pirate if your post is a "100", i.e., more recently, 9100, 9200, etc. That's why things go a little crazy when the counts get to, say, 60 or 70. ;) There are bonuses for "round" numbers, 500 and 1000. The forty second rule kicks in if you try to post, then post again right away. You can only post every 40 seconds. If you try to post before the 40 seconds is up you'll get a little :sad2: error message telling you to try again when your 40 seconds is up.

Those of us with guarantee/GTY cabins get the booking when the rooms are unassigned, and often they will oversell a category if say, the 12 is selling faster than the 11...then they wait to assign cabins until they have a better idea of how many are coming and who's paying for what. The "lore" is, with a gty you're giving them flexibility with the hope you'll be rewarded with an upgrade. :shamrock: Hope that makes sense...:goodvibes

Ok, my 7 yo ds was just listening to me telling dh about the desirability of the turkey legs and the necessity to snag em fast...dh was confused about when that food appears, is it at your dinner seating, etc. Ds says "on pirate night some people get an arrrrrgly seating". :lmao: :rotfl2: That's my boy. :goodvibes

I went and did my Costco liquor comparison today. It looks like Disney prices are beating Costco. And I remember seeing stuff cheaper in St Maarten than on the ship as well.

More interesting though is that today was the day the mailbox get stuffed full of junk mail flyers from the grocery stores. In CA, grocery stores sell liquor. So I was looking at their specials this week and they're better on some things than Disney. It's kinda weird, but things like vodka and rum can be gotten much cheaper here when it's on special, but things like Bailey's are always much more. Von's is having a really good deal on Malibu Rum this week.

In any case, I think I've determined that it's not worth saving a couple bucks here and there for the trouble of packing bottles in the luggage. Especially since DH and I really don't drink that much. Not that you'd know it by the novel I just wrote about liquor. :lmao: It's all about getting the best deal. :thumbsup2

We had issues with our server on the first nite, and spoke to the head server. He apologized and fizxed it. And the server apologized. The second nite everything was perfect and the dessert was creme brulee cheesecake. I love cremebrulee and mentioned it. DD wasn't with us for dinner that nite, she stayed in the clubs. I wanted a peice of cheesecake for her. I took DS to the clubs, and was gonna meet DH back at the room. OMG, our server send dh with like 4 slices of cheesecake and 4 orders of creme brulee (the dessert for tmorrow ntie). We never did get to eat it all, it was too much. But it was sooo yummy!

Wow you are all a Jabber Jaws today :surfweb:

I didn't go to work but I did do some shopping.. Bought some groceries and items I needed for the house... DH & I needed new pillows.. :cloud9:

I am going out for a few hours to a friend's house for Pizza & Cake to celebrate her Birthday..

I see I missed another pirate: and I see that You know who got the pirate: AGAIN!! She is becoming a Pirate hog.. :rotfl2: Congrats!! :cheer2:

Ya know what...this is really a fun group of people. I am so looking forward to the cruise and meeting you guys. Well almost all of you..:rotfl: . :rotfl:
