I couldn't stand it any longer! Everyone else is going to Disney, I need to go too!

So I just booked 2 nights at the Disneyland Hotel in Paris over Thanksgiving. We'll go to the parks Wed afternoon, Thurs and Fri and hopefully avoid the crowds. And the park will be decorated for Christmas as of Nov 10th. :yay:

Of course I used DVC, so the park tickets are included. And if we stay 3 nights in Tokyo in April, I'll still have 3 points to bank for next year! (Thanks to my 160 incentive points). I would've spent almost $3500 to pay out of pocket for everything I've booked/planning to book. Lovin' DVC!
:woohoo:

Oh how great! Thanksgiving trip. Going to Disney Paris. Lucky Jasmine and mom.

The only "Disney fix" that I'm going to get until Dec. 1 is a trip to the Disney Store in the Monmouth Mall:rolleyes:. Maybe, if I really want an adventure, I'll go to the one in the Freehold Mall instead!

Brack, and any other photography lovers...

I was just shown this site by a friend... http://www.flickr.com/groups/technique/discuss/36406/

It's a way to use a prime lens as a magnification lens by holding it in reverse to another lens. I used my thrifty fifty in reverse of my 28-135mm, and it's amazing.

Here's a before and after of some screws about 3/16" of an inch long that I had on my desk...

That.....Is.......AWESOME!!!!!! :woohoo: I just bought a new SLR camera and I LOVE finding different things to do with it!!!

Julie, is that at San Diego Zoo? My daughter loved seeing them when we were there when she was younger. The zookeeper carried the koalas out and put them in the tree. How are the animals there doing in relation to the fires?

No, it's actually the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary right outside Brisbane, Australia. http://www.koala.net/

I have no idea how the animals at the San Diego Zoo are doing, but I hope they have a really good evacuation plan in place. :sad1: At the very least, the smoke is bad enough now that I would think they're having trouble. :sad1:

ETA: I just found this website http://sandiegozoo.org/wpmu/fire/ that says the zoo has some fire damage, but the animals are okay as of now. It's getting close though.

I don't think she has any idea how non-DIS kids live. :lmao:

I was going to try to keep the trip a secret from her - I lasted 2 whole hours before I caved. :rotfl2:

I heard that they moved some of the animals in the Wild Animal Park, but that zoo was okay. Even as they were talking about the fires in the news, they took the time to refer to the zoo as the "World Famous San Diego Zoo."

There's website that shows addresses of some of the homes and businesses that've been lost. So far I don't see any in my old zip code, but there are some that are within a few miles.

Yes, when we had the fires back in 2004, the air was black for days. Everyone was off of school work for most of the week, and we had to just stay inside. I didn't think about those poor animals!

That is really cool. :thumbsup2 As soon as I get home I'll have to try it out.

The first thing that struck me was how shallow the depth of field is with this method. The head of the screw is sharp but the threads blur towards the end. It's a cool effect.

Thanks for sharing.

For those keeping score, there are still not Brunch reservations. Nor did I find any of the new cars I am missing.

Are we going to put any information on the back of our hometown postcards? DISnames? Email addresses? Leave them blank?:scratchin :scratchin
