It's really strange - I can watch the first episode without a problem but not the second!!! I'm a Celeb Apprentice junkie with no chance of a fix!!! :rotfl2: Oh well, maybe someone will upload it onto YouTube eventually... :surfweb:

...on Ed's ticker that today we have exactly 19 months to go until we're sailing to Tortola!!!

Hey, What can you tell me about Vero Beach?????????????????????????//

Vero is one of our home resorts, but we've only been there twice. Each trip was excellent though and a pleasant change from the hustle & bustle of the theme parks. One trip was exclusively Vero (with a day trip to Universal) and the other was after some time at WDW to relax and so forth.

The resort is very nice and, at least when we were there, never seemed overly crowded. It's not that big and easy to find everything, etc. The pool is great and the activities were well-planned and kept our kids happy the whole time. Of course it is a beachfront property, unlike HHI, and my kids absolutely love the beach/ocean. Staff is friendly, restaurants were above-average, and the units were clean and in good shape.

We didn't find all that much to do in the area though, but then again we really didn't seek too much out. We were happy where we were. This was one place we really utilized the kitchen facilities - going shopping and cooking many meals in our unit. When we stay at WDW we generally only use the kitchens for breakfast.

Our fondest memory of Vero was our first trip there. My DS (the one who now excels at swimming) was literally afraid of the water. He'd go into a pool, but wouldn't go under water. They had a group swimming lesson program for kids held each morning at the pool. It was run by an older woman - she was a bit "rough" and had that I've been out in the sun all my life weathered look. She was kind of tough on some of the kids - my son included. When she had the group go under the water (she'd go to) he would stay up. She challenged him on why his hair wasn't wet!! He actually went a couple of mornings even though they did the same thing each time.

She approached us and offered to do a private swimming lesson. We negotiated a price and let her have him for half a day. Let's just say she broke him - he was actually swimming and enjoying it. We did another private lesson with her before we left. The rest is history in our family!

I'll dig up some pics of Vero when I get a chance. DW was 7 months pregnant when we last went and she muttered something about cutting something of mine off if I posted pics of her pregnant on the internet!! :rotfl2:

Happy Sunday everyone! Just wanted to check in and say hi! I won't be around much for the next few months. I am working, taking two classes for my masters and moving to a new apartment next month (cheaper rent=more Disney money :yay: ). I'll try and catch up with you guys when I can!

Harry-

What kinds of allergies does he have? Poor kid! Does he have to get shots or can he take pills to manage?

Seasonal allergies - but severe at time. His primary allergens are grass, trees, weeds, and so forth. Throw in dust as well.

He actually receives sublingual immunotherapy (under the tongue drops) which is considered investigational in the US, but is a common form of treatment elsewhere. The drops are given daily at home. He needs to evaluated annually (hence the appt next week).
