What is everyone's plans for Christmas?????????

Running all over the place. ;) How about you? Oh, and baking a bunch this weekend. (I finally got flour to finish my choc chip cookies) I mean, it's not like I haven't been on a major sugar buzz this week from all the junk at work, and all the sweet things my husband's customers have been giving him. :) I fear that if I go just one day without stuffing my face full of cookies and candy then I will go through severe withdraw. So I feel the need to bake a bunch of stuff this weekend that I don't need and will probably end up throwing away!

Has anyone sent out Christmas cards? This is actually the first year I have not. (I've been spending too much time on the Disboards :rolleyes1 )

Kristin-

Since CT is a little too far to go for your party (although I'd love to go!) I did end up getting told of two other parties from two other hosts. Now mind you, one is someone I just sailed with who lives about 4 hours from me, and the other is about an hour away so I probably won't be able to go to either. Maybe if I could find someone just a little closer. (like next door would be nice. :lmao: Just kidding!!)

Have you had a chance to look into your further and start your invites/planning?

Yes we sent out about 35

That's good! I meant to get some made at Shutters but the picture we would have used was one of our last pictures taken. Fighting the crowd at Shutters that last night got to be too overwhelming. The next time around I know better and will get them made from a picture earlier in the cruise.

The cookies must be really good...
I hate all of the cookies we have sitting on our dining room table right now. I wish they would all go away so I would stop eating them all...I am eating them all of the time and the scale is not going to like it when I get on it...LOL!!!!

I sent out way to many cards and are still getting some that I did not send too so I am sending out more tomorrow. I have sent out 92 thus far....UGH!!!!!!

Sorry, my last post I forgot to tell you wha we were doing for Christmas. Well since I had surgery scheduled and it got cancelled we had no plans just to stay home just us and be quite and calm since I was not going to still up to all of the running. So since I am going the day after we are staying home and hanging out all day just the four of us. Looking soooooo forward to it.. We usually never go anywhere since I am a BIG believer that the kids should get to stay home and play with all of there new stuff. That is what my parents always did for us when we were little and we loved it....So usually people come to visit us but not this year. Need to be rested for surgery the next day....Christmas Eve we go out. My folks will stop before they go to my brother's house and that is it.. The kids have picked the menu for Christmas Day so they will be happy.....

I have set up the website for the party. But no invites out yet..DH is mad he is going to be away for work well coming home that day from California..... Got any ideas for the party that I could use???????

Melissa-

Hey, if I had been given the chance to see them you can bet I would have been there! I had a thing for Jordan Knight. :rotfl:

I have been to 2 New Kids on the Block concerts, I loved Jordan and Joey!! Did anyone notice my DD's name is Jordan. I swear it's a coincidence(sp):rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I also admit to going to NSync- and I was older and made my DH go. I had issues and loved Justin!:goodvibes

My Christmas plans:My DH has a huge extended family and very close- we are getting together at a hall on Saturday for food and opening gifts. There are about 12 kids, and 6 are the same age as my DD. My DH also has alot of cousins his age, so it's alot of fun. I have to work all week except Xmas, so Xmas Eve after work, my family will go to my best friends house to hang out. Then Xmas morning we will open at our house, go to DH's Mom's(less than 5 min away) to open with his sister's and their families(1 lives there with her son), then go back home to wait for my sister and her family to come from being w/their inlaws. My Mom and Dad live next door to me- so we eat w/my sister and family and Mom and Dad and exchange with them. Next day, I'm back to work.:goodvibes

Nikki-

Love the name Jordan! And you have to admit, there is something intriguing about JT!

I guess I'm weird. My first concert was Metallica, then Aerosmith, Tom Petty, and Boyz II Men. I was deprived of concerts when I lived at home, pretty much too broke to go in my independent single days, and married someone who comes from the days (early 80's) when you didn't pay more than $15.00 to go to even a big name concert and he still thinks anything over $15.00 is a rip-off. So if I'd been given the chance, I'd have gone to any of them I put in my original post. (shhhh, that's a secret!)

Oh, and since you brought up names, my DD is named Gwynne. Partly because I love Gwen Stefani! (I just wanted her to have a more unique spelling)

Off to bed now.. ALL worn out from the concert and building Gingerbread houses in with the twin's class today............Good Night All!!!!!!!!!!

That sounds crazy busy but wonderful! I wish I had more family closer. I only live close to my in-laws and there are just 10 of us total in the in-law family. I can only go to my mom's family Christmas Eve celebration (pretty big) every other year. (this is an off year, so we'll go to her house for the day on Christmas day and just visit with my mom and step-dad) We used to do in-laws on Christmas Eve afternoon then drive to my mom's later that night and spend the night. But now we are insistent that our kids at least get to wake up in their own beds on Christmas morning, and it's too late to drive home from my mom's the night before. Forget ever spending it with my dad and his family. They are the biggest of my families but I never see them anymore because I already have to juggle the in-laws and my mom's family. I haven't spent Christmas with them since I was 12. The holidays are so wacky aren't they!

Glad you enjoyed it....

Crash,

You had better get posting here. Look we have already hit 500!!!!!!!!!!

Ever since we got back from that cruise a couple weeks ago we've been running around doin' all kinds of errands and so on. I've been spending some of my free time catching up on the August sailing thread. As you kno... hey put on a lot of "fluff" while I wuz at sea... and it seems a number of entertaining comments were made in reference to me. SO they're sort of egging me on to wander backwards and dig fer it.

At any rate - on what we have planned fer christmas... I bought a Prime Rib to cook for Christmas eve = and we're spending it with friends and family in a modest dinner. One of the families has a parent who is fighting cancer and they're realy close to us... so we're hangin' mostly with them on Christmas eve. Afterwards, we're doing San Diego with the Zoo, animal park and Lego land. Then we have a New Years eve away from home south of Anaheim (Disneyland country) for a few days and meeting up with really close family (Cousins) from Honolulu. They're coming into town fer San Diego and Disneyland. So - in a departure from our usual gig - which is to hit Hawaii to spend the holidays with family we're staying closer to home - mostly because we saw Alicia's Mom and Dad in Boston at Thanksgiving when we were visiting the new baby. Here's a couple pictures of me holding our latest addition to the family - ONE day old Braedon in these photos:

Steely Dan
The 5th Dimension

I guess we've seen a lot of concerts in our days. Living in LA and having a paying job at my parents' business allowed me to go to a few. Plus I used to subscribe at the Greek theater - so we sort of HAD to buy 4-6 concerts every year for a decade plus. Now we do Jazz concerts - and in particular Jazz Trax at Catalina Island every year. Plus an occasional jazz festival elsewhere - plus 2-4 concerts at the Hollywood Bowl every year.
