I lucked out tonight!! DH took DD to dance class. I absolutely despise taking her and having to sit there for 45 minutes with some of the other moms. Some of them are nice to talk to but there are lots of the moms who are very snobby, so I'd rather avoid them altogether. The last two years were fine but some in the group this year are downright scary. :rotfl: My boss's daughter is a first year student at this school on a different night and she said she hates taking her DD more than I hate taking mine! It must be a dance thing because the sports parents are much friendlier overall. So I just finished cleaning up from dinner, vacuuming the whole house, laundry, and now DS is doing homework.

Ouch!!! My DD attended ballet classes in her youth and I hated taking her - as far as I was concerned she went for fun other mamas were just soooo competitive... :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

God, and I thought it was only us, school events, dance class, choir,

I thought it was cause we are older than some of the moms and dads, but it seems like no one ever taught this people any manners. Rude, snobish, if you not part of their circle.

OK it's not just coz you're older - when I had DD and DS, I was younger than most of the other parents and received the same treatment. I think it's because you're different!!! Honestly, I was asked if I was the Nanny/au pair/older sister and, at one school, completely shunned by other parents - hated it!!! :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

No, it's not you Ed. At least in my little town, most people who grew up here stay here. They keep that high school mentality. I'm not from here so I am an outsider, until someone realizes who my husband is, (he grew up here). Then they'll talk to me.

And that's another explanation... :thumbsup2 DH and I grew up in the UK's second largest city (Birmingham) but moved away when he went to Uni in Oxford. We moved further south when he graduated and started his career in the City so have never 'belonged' anywhere... As Bruce might say, "Tramps like us, Baby we were born to run..." :rockband:

I never thought it would happen but we are catching up with my old cruise group, who is cruising again in Oct. 2009. At the rate we are going, we're going to pass them, and they are a very active group!

I've noticed that too... :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

Just got off the treadmill... watching the news here...

Are you training for anything, Harry? I've signed up for a Breast Cancer Care run later in the year - it's just 5k but I figured I've gotta start somewhere...

I started my walking again toady.

So far 7000 steps, Goal is 10,000 or more. I was doing about 13,000 a day before I fell down the stairs.

Every 2000 to 2500 steps is about a mile

Good for you, Ed!!! :thumbsup2 I read that naturally slim folk (and I'm not one of those) do 6000 steps per day to maintain their size and so 10000 steps will help you lose weight/tone up...

I'm watching.. Sorry, just gettin on now.. Our contractor was here tonight... Signed all the papers things are getting going now............!!!!!!!

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: Congrats, Kristin... :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

YOu're all too good working out and all. After five collapased lungs. There is no more working out in my future ever.....Good Luck with the work outs you're all working soo hard!!!!!!!!!!!!

The first one happened the summer of 2004, then Jan 2005, Feb 2005 (three times in that MOnth) and then Mother's Day 2006 ...I missed the twin's third birthday...I was home with a nurse and a chest tube..It has not been easy............

It must be so tough for you, Kristin... Sending you pixiedust: and :grouphug: ...

I love your default song and your pictures!!! I just put together my playlist a few weeks ago. It's very diverse. LOL You can tell the era by the music. I'm trying to add all that to my iPod. Not having much luck yet getting it done.

I haven't done anything with my MySpace account - maybe you guys will push me in that direction... :thumbsup2 :surfweb:

It was.. Telling you I kept my thorasic surgeon in Bus. for years, and paid his mortage for a few years...It was a total spontanous thing.. But in Jan and Feb. the tube when it did come out days later it would collapase. I had to everntually have 20% of my lung removed on that side.................

:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Ok, here is my picture from the drunken scrapbook cruise. Picture 7 scrapbookers, going to a 70's dance party at the "Viking Lounge" on the scrapbook cruise, dancing and drinking for about 3 hours, then going back to the "scrapbook" room (AKA conference center) around 2:30am and scrapbooking until about 4:30am. We were so messed up, when I came home I had to redo the page I did. :rotfl: :rotfl:

That's what I call hardcore crafting!!! :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao:

Karen,

I want to know about your shopping trip.. Let me know when you get back from shopping !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Will do!!! I have high expectations so will probably end up disappointed but never mind... :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Wish I did not volunteer for it. I've learned my lesson and will not be doing i next year. It seems to always need to be out when I have other things going on in my life..... Only, have to do it till the end of the school year then another mother can take it over......

I hated all that stuff! Now we just have to turn up to fundraisers - much easier... :thumbsup2

Hoping it warms up. Need to head off to bed. DH is putting all of the laundry away. I need to get better he does way to much to take care of all of us......He really is the best......:laundy: :laundy: :laundy: :laundy: :laundy: :laundy:

Bless him, he's a good guy... :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes
