07/22/2006 - The Oh-Seven Double-Deuce Double Dip Desperados!

Yep, I'm going on the Ruins tour w/ Disney, too, Beth.

Joan, you sound like my FIL. He was an ASM programmer for years, though recently retired. He said the same thing about PC's - he was much more comfortable with a terminal. :surfweb:

So, just to recap the bag thing - we're making bags for everyone else who's making bags, or do we only make bags for a certain person and/or people?

Make just one bag (you could make more than one, but, holy cow, that could be a lot bags)...anyway, here is how another group did it, at the DIS meet (or another time if we want) everyone brings their bag to the location....we do some type of drawing (I was thinking we could put the buttons (that iggbees is making) of everyone present into a hat)...anyway, each person draws a DISer name and gets that person's bag...
Does that sound OK????

This way, each family gets to meet one other family a little closer and then we can open the bags and have a few laughs at the great things included. AND at least one person from each group is motivated to attend the DIS meet to give away their bag....

I hope I wasn't too unclear...

Ok my DS (4) watches me DIS and always wants me to add all those "smilely faces". He's sitting here now add he's going to post a few. Bare with us DD (4) just arrived. She has to do some too. He we go. yttttttttttrrr :hourglass :dance3: :laundy: :beach: party: :mickeyjum

here are hers mmmmmmmmmmmm  . princess: :moped: :dance3: :mickeybar :flower1:

thanks for putting up with their first post :)

Never too early especially with a computer geek for a Dad. They are so excited. Last cruise I didn't know you could call room service for Mickey bars. So I ran around to whatever restaurant was open and got them and brought them to our room. What a mother will do for her kids :rotfl2:
Now the kids know they can pick up the phone and order them. DD tells people "When I go on the Mickey Boat, They will bring Mickey Bar ice cream to my room whenever I want" "and I get to try lobster one night too"
Notice she posted the Mickey Bar.

I hope whoever gets my bag like the Maryland Terrepins, that is my alma mater.

I think the Terp is the cutest mascot I have ever seen.... They played here at UNC and I saw the turtle for the first time ever and fell in love with him. You should see me on the highway if I spot one on a car..lol My kids think I am nuts.

OK, back to the bags....LOL
It seems like the exchange we have at Christmas, if you bring a bag, you get a bag, right??
Do you have a count on how many want to participate?

LOOK EVERYONE........39 DAYS!!!!!!!! We are in the 30's :dance3:

okie, now that everyone has had the chance to look at the navigators if they want to... what kinds of things are you all planning on going to on the ship?

the last disney cruise we went on we didn't even think to read the navigators and missed out on so many fun things.

i really want to go to that disney trivia game to see it played. i also want to see pirates in the theater (or on deck, wherever they show it). i think i'm also going to take advantage of spa things (especially the rainforest room, i've done spa treatments on the last 2 cruises i've been on and i hate when they ask you to buy their products in the end.) i also want to see some of the shows in beatstreet. they look like a lot of fun, but i think they'd be way more fun with a larger group (there were only 4 of us from my family on the last disney cruise)!

i still have some checking to do on what i'm really interested in seeing though.

ps. i've gotten a request from joan so far for some extra name pins. if anyone else wants some extra names, just pm me with them!

I was on a four day wonder and when I left the cruise I thought, the one big thing missing was comedy - so that is high on my list. I am single parent so I will be venturing it alone and looking for those green buttons!!!

Other things on my list - beer and wine tasting and the galley tour

i'm totally looking forward to the beer and wine tasting too and i think my dad is as well. maybe we'll see you on that tour! although, i read that they're having martini tasting, which i might just have to do instead...

I have to admit, our last 2 cruises have been just DH and I , so we really didn't do to much at night except the shows, now since we are traveling with a group(and DIS'ers), we are trying to do the adult shows this time. Along with the martini and tequila tasting, high tea at Palo, I would love to see some of the cooking demo's and maybe a art auction.

Our last cruise was a 4 night and with late seating we usually went to pick up the kids from the club and went to bed. I'm hoping to get the 8:00 pm dinner. That should gets us out 1/2 an hour earlier so we can do some more fun things like the clubs.

DH and I went to do the beer tasting on the wonder last year. We ended up not doing it because we had tasted all the beers the were offering. Remember my screenname is roysbrew (stolen from DH). In college we drank our way around the world (150 beers from over 30 countries) at one of our favorite bars. (Not all in one night). I'm hoping to go to the wine and/or martini tasting. I also want to do some (well all) the art of entertaining classes.

Definitely see POC II.

Last cruise we did the rasual and had a great time. But we scheduled it on CC day. Huge pain to get kids over to the club on CC and get back up to the spa first thing in the morning. If you go bring LOTS of towels. Everything is wet and slippery. This time we're skipping, we'll do the rainforest and some r&r in our room instead.

I wanted to do Palo tea, but that would be 3 times in a week. I thought it might be too much. Plus since we plan to eat dinner w/o the kids 3 or 4 nights, it adds up to alot of club time.

No matter what we do we will have a great trip I'm sure :thumbsup2

We'll definitely get to all the shows at night - that was a family favorite. With the kids, we'll also be sure to get pics with some of the characters. I'm not too sure about POC II - the boys still haven't seen the first one. I'll have to do the proper dad thing and watch the first one again to see if it's OK for them or not. :thumbsup2 I'm sure Cars will be playing when we're onboard - we'll probably catch that one afternoon.

With the spa, Palo, and different excursions, I'm not sure how much more we'll do. Maybe hit one of the theme nights or comedy nights. I'd love to hit a beer tasting or martini tasting, but I'm the only one in our party who would be interested in that, so I probably won't get to it.

Interestingly, I think I noticed that the beer tasting and the martini tasting conflict so you can't do both (since they are offered on sea days you could do one one day and one the other) but I laughed and thought, well, Disney is separating the two types of people....
I am a beer and wine person at heart (went to college in Milwaukee and understand Roysbrew's comment about drinking through college....ah, the drinking age was 18 and drafts were 5 cents, eventually 25 cents by graduation)

Did anyone else panic a little when we went into the 30's for countdown....I am desperate to go but not ready yet!!! Shopping list is too long and several business trips in between....ah, vacation....

Oh how well I remember those days......nickle beer, then once a month in Atlanta they had penny draft beer night....Oh my, I think I drank enough beer to last a lifetime...no wonder why I don't touch the stuff now.... :rotfl2:

We are in full panic mode here.....still have to get my dress for formal night altered, and find shoes. DS 9 has no clothes at all, so nice of him to out grow everything, and DS 16 informed me he needs a bathing suit. Plus finish up our shirts, and work on door signs . Time is running out :hourglass

Definitely doing the dessert thing and the Cake and Plate decorating! watching those wedding and food network specials it is amazing how disney does it. Plus who doesn't like desserts
