07/22/2006 - The Oh-Seven Double-Deuce Double Dip Desperados!

I have a questions for all my fellow cruisers. I have been reading the boards about the on line ressies that people get up at 3 AM to make and was wondering if anyone knows if it is exactly 90, 75, etc days out or do you have to wait for the next business day closest to that mark? Does that question make sense?

It makes perfect sense....

It is 90 or 75 days (or 105 if you have REAS or concierge rooms) from the first day of the cruise. So I basically counted back 90 days for us from July 22. Which put me at making ressies on April 24.
Now I have never gotten up at 3 am to do make them....but I will be online as soon as I get up... :rotfl2:

The first time I called for the ressies, last year I used the internet. The one I reserved for my son, ( a teen sail at Nassau) I received a email from Disney telling me due to lack of interest it had been cancelled.

WooooHooo! Got my "travel kit" today with information about excursions, etc. FYI, the letter says that for concierge the first day for reservations is April 8.

Maybe that means I can book ours on April 23rd then...Figures I would be off by a day.. :rotfl:

You got your travel packet?!

i want mine i can't wait to start booking everything!!

I just got our travel packet in the mail today!!!! :cheer2: :Pinkbounc

We can officially book everything April 23rd since we are Castaway club members!!(ok I WAS a day off, got to change my calendar) :stitch: :woohoo:

my whole family booked our flights today! yay! it's getting so real now. i totally need this vacation and i definitely deserve it after how my work has been going!

Yep, got ours yesterday, too. Amazing how they managed to get out to the whole country on the same day. Well, almost...sorry, jazstar. :confused3

Say, we're flying in the day before and trying to decide between staying at the Hyatt at the Airport or one of the WDW resorts. Anyone have any feedback on either experience?

Rainy today....but thinking about the cruise brightens the mood. Happy Fat Tuesday, everyone!

Don't feel bad Jazstar, the other 3 families we are traveling with haven't gotten theirs either.
Of course Roodoll is in Guam, so it may take hers awhile.

We are driving down ahead of time and staying at the Radisson at the port.

We're staying at the Hyatt Airport. I'm paranoid about flying in the day of departure. One of our neighbors missed the boat because of a flight delay. Our first cruise was shifted because of a hurricane and they put us up in Port Orleans the night before and then a LONG bus ride to Ft. Lauderdale because Canaveral was ripped apart.

I got home and checked and nothing, though it wasn't all bad because i got my disneyland vacation video( not really going but love to recive mail;) ). Maybe tomorrow!

We want to go to disney before the cruise, but my family can't decide what hotel to stay at. i guess out of 22 hotels it is hard to choose.

uhh... i can make the decision for us.

wilderness lodge, akl, or maybe port orleans riverside (i miss dixie landings, what can i say?).

definitely not pop.

Animal Kingdom Lodge was great when we went. If you're just staying one night before the cruise, I would go with Port Orleans.

i want to stay in an modorate and up but yeah it get quite expensive. hmm you have get dad to get him to upgrade, lol

I've been trying to buy my airline tickets through Southwest for what seems like forever now. They just do not want to release the dates that we need. I even have my 10 year old continuously checking for me throughout the day. Hey, he's on my computer during school break, it's the least he can do, right! We were without power here over the weekend. Our house got down to 48 degrees. We REALLY need a vacation! Good for you Bethipooh4 for paying off your cruise already!

SWA has opened up their dates now, you should be able to book, but if you haven't downloaded their "Ding" fares you may want to do that, there are great savings there. I booked my DS home from college for spring break, that would be from Midway, Chicago to BWI in Baltimore for $97.10 roundtrip! :cool1: You can get some cheap fares there, but you may have to wait a bit. I've been doing it for a year now and have had great success.

Oh, I just went to the mailbox, nothing from DCL for me either, :confused3 hopefully soon. :simba: :goofy: :tigger: :donald:

Thanks for the replies. We were looking at staying at Port Orleans, but didn't know if the additional bus ride after the flight was worth saving $50/room. FWIW, DCL says that when you arrange for flight/hotel through them for arrival the day before, they usually put people up at the Hyatt, because the shuttles go to the airport anyway.

Oh well, at least the decision-making will be easier. BIL's side of the family dropped out. So now we're down to 15. :thumbsup2
