Thank you everyone for the warm welcome! Iggbees, my daughter will be thrilled to "know" someone her own age on the ship. She loves Disney and esp loves Disney cruises (this will be our 4th, her 3rd- they ARE addictive!) The last cruise (we came "home" (to BCV!) with Hurricane CHARLEY) she had the good fortune to meet a nice group of young people her age on board the ship; she is hoping to do the same this trip. It is so nice to talk with other people who understand our disney fixation. Even my third graders know how much I love Disney (do you think maybe the Dumbo stapler, castle pencil holder, Peter Pan tape dispenser, Tinkerbell noteholder, and teacup paperclip holder on my desk MIGHT have given them a clue? lol

oh, i definitely understand about the people your own age thing. our last disney cruise i was too old to hang out with my sister, who was allowed into the teen clubs and too young to really do anything with the "grownups". it was kind of a bummer. i didn't really get to meet anyone on board who were my age.

ps. you guys live pretty close to me, i'm up in mass (western - springfield/amherst area). my boyfriend's family is from ct, where abouts are you?

yeah, too bad i had to go to work today. (i work at umass). it would have been nice to have the day off (like most of the university did) but i had to go to work because my experiments couldn't wait. i stood out waiting for the bus for a half an hour while it was snowing really hard!

Bethipooh4, it will be great to be under the 200 mark. We can't wait! Iggbees, poor you having to go in to work in this awful weather. I was happy to see we didn't as our driveway is steep and we live on a busy street (always a worry on icy mornings). I have a couple weeks until my grad class starts, so I didn't need to think about going there either(but I still have plenty of work to do since I am at the end of my master's program!) Here's wishing all our friends safe travel in this wintery weather!

We got the storm here in NC before you did, we got rain, hail and thunderstorms. Its beautiful and almost 60 here today, doesn't feel like Jan. though.

I remember upstate NY winters all too well, we lived in Poughkeepsie for 2 years...I have to admit we are spoiled this winter, I was in shorts over the weekend.
I bet when we are all sweating in Mexico this July we may wish it was winter..

Due to job situation and finances...we have had to cancel going on the cruise with you all. Have a great time...we know you will. Wish we could go but can't financially afford it ...have to use the money to pay our real estate taxes and orthodonture bill and others.

Today it was nice out though a bit of wind, though it has been a nice winter for us so far, not much snow. My school was closed only two days, i know i should not jinx it. I want to get out of school so i only have to think of the nice cruise

Wow, your group makes our group of 12 look small....

Have you given any thought to how you book excursions as a group, or Palo(if you are going).
I am looking for ideas on how to plan for ours. Only 2 of the 4 families are castaway members and can book at 90 days out.

We're also working on tshirt designs...Lord help me...I am in charge. LOL

With reservations for excursions and Palo - you _might_ be able to book everyone if you have their cruise reservation number. I don't know for sure - this is the first cruise on which I'll be a Castaway Club member. The easiest thing to do is to call - that's what I did when I was booking our excursions for the Mexico cruise last summer. The web site doesn't seem to be able to handle making reservations across different groups at the same time.

As for the T-Shirts, we're looking into creating something from here:
Customized Disney Shirts They even have T-Shirts in Dis green, I think.

Best of luck with your planning. Fortunately, for our group, I don't think anyone wants to do anything with _everyone_ at the same time, except dinner. How they're going to put 23 of us together, I have no idea. They seemed to have a semi-difficult time with 13 of us last summer.

According to our DU agent, if all of our reservations are linked(ours are) we will probably get a table together since we are only a group of 12.

Since 2 of us are CC members, we can book Palo for our group and split it up, 6 and 6, or however we want to divide it. Each member can book reservations for up to 6.

Only thing we can't do is book excursions for everyone.

I saw a few of you posted on the regular boards about predictions for our pirates nights, etc. So how are we going to pick palo nights? Are you just going to guess and change it on board if you are missing formal night or pirate ect??????????
Also, I know there is a website where you can put in your date to be at WDW and it will calculate the day to call for PS....is there one for Palo/spa etc???
