06 dues cannot be paid on line if you bot via resale

I thought I've give everyone a heads-up.
At the present time, if your contract(s) was purchased via the resale market, DVC is saying that you cannot: view/print-off or pay dues via the Member website.

They are working on making this happen, but do not expect it to be in time for this January's dues. All past payment methods are open to you, but if this situation applies to you (as in the past) you'll have to call or use snailmail.

The Annual Dues information is located under the index of "My DVC" on the member site.

Thanks for the info, DVCconvert. When you looked at the Annual Dues page, did you see an "Alert" instructing you to call Member Accounting? I also bought a resale and after reading your message, I went to the members' website and looked at my Annual Dues info. There is a message displayed in red text under an "Alerts" banner:

Contract Number xxxx requires your attention. Please contact Member Accounting at xxxx for assistance.

Thinking there was some problem I called Member Accounting as instructed and was told "There is no problem with your contract. We cannot display your annual dues on the website so that message is displayed in case you want to know how much your 2006 dues are." She also told me the statements are being mailed out as we speak.

A more informative (and less worrisome) message would have been more helpful and probably saved a few calls to Member Accounting!

Same experience for me! I thought I had missed a payment or something! Just what I needed...something else to fret about over the holidays! So i called MS right away and was also told it was just because my contract was a resale. I agree that they should have just said that on the website. Oh well...love the new options online, even if not perfect!

I guess I am missing something here. I also bought resale(like a large percentage of us). Why should that make a difference. Once the deal is done DVC takes over so why can't they display this info???...smjj
