Here are two examples of the Fish Extenders. Mine is the shorter, wider blue one. We hang them outside our doors for other cruisers in our group to leave us notes

Thoes are sooooo cool. On the pink mickey one how long and wide was it do you think. There is one on ebay that I am watching, but their photo is REALLY bad. I think your blue one is adorable... Where did you get it?

As for the name tags, one thought there is a guy Tom 'intoexcitedtosleep' on the graphics list that makes the DL name tags for door signs... We could all do the tags for the doors maybe? Let me know...oh let me find a link to his stuff...hold on....Ok under the cruise and graphics link post go to page 73 then to post number 1089. I have already asked him to make us some for our door only cause I can't figure out how to make the names that are already on there to come off and add ours. What does everyone think?

Okay...I'm thinking.....I know a real strain...... Do we want to meet after the life boat drill, or try to do it before?
I think it's too rushed (IMO) to do it before. And since we'll be going up for sail-away after the drill, it just seems to make more sense.
The drill is at 4:00 isn't it? Why am I having trouble remembering this stuff?

Anyway....I propose that we all meet on Deck 10 ......overlooking the Goofy pool......immediately after the life boat drill.....Starboard side, so that we'll be on the side near the water and not the terminal.....

All those in favor say "aye".....other ideas are very welcome!!


As far as recognizing eachother.....the largest size sign I can make on my computer is only 8.5 x 11.......can anyone make a larger sign?
I guess I could go get poster board, but my letters are always crooked and I am not too talented. I will do it though, if no one else wants to and if everyone promises not to make fun of my like of artistic abilities!!

I haven't checked boards here in a while and missed a lot. I'm glad I'm not the only one feeling like they are forgetting something! My Mom is dog/housesitting, so at least I have that covered!

Last weekend I got both DS's clothes figured out. Neither of their shorts fit them from last year (that is not the worship smilie, it's me on my knees crying) so that's been my mission this week. Sheesh, I just spent 250.00 on summer clothes just for them. Today, I'm trying on my casual clothes (hope they fit me, unlike my kids ) and am having DH coordinate his dress up clothes to mine. I bought some cute casual disney clothes on ebay over the winter months. They were too tight, but they fit now. DH and I have been going to excersise classes (he didn't need to loose weight, but good for his heart) since Jan. We got measured again yesterday and I found out my total for inches lost in my waist...5 inches!!!! Yipee!!!!

This week, I reserved our canopy tour for PV. We're not going with the disney one. Other one looks more fun and no small boat trip to get there. I emailed company and they said they could have a guide go down with DS if he wants to bail. Might be me who needs the guide...

Also, I have not yet done any door signs. Hoping to work on that today. Boy, the fish extenders are cute. Now, I'm going to have to add that to my today to-do list, ha! Just when I think I'm getting things done I add another thing on.

I'm just curious if anyone could use titles made out of cardstock, like scrapbooking titles. I know some of you have mentioned you do digital scrapbooking so you might not be interested. I have a wishblade machine which cuts out letters and I have a cute disney font. I can make any words I choose and can connect the letters to each other (weld). I would be happy to do some personalized titles for little gifts if we decide to share anything. They are cute for cards, too. If any one is interested, PM me. I don't have a lot of time, it's my busiest time at work right now, I pretty much only have weekends to get things done, but right now there are only ten of us on the list we've been posting.

Whew, I don't post often but when I do, I write a book!

Well, off to check ebay. I need to find a shawl/wrap for my dresses for formal night and Palo. And, I suppose I won't be able to resist checking out fish extenders...

Our door signs are all done, spread on the dining table to dry. I just need to trim some of them, and apply magnets to the backs of ones that I printed on photo paper. I did some on the magnet sheets, but others I wanted the pics on them to be clearer, so that called for the photo paper.

One less thing to do.....other than try to wait patiently!!!

Great idea to use the photo paper for clearer images for your door signs. I hadn't thought of that. Now, I'm glad I haven't printed mine out yet!

Well, I looked on ebay at fish extenders. I couldn't find any that I liked. I'm not into Pooh and prefer brighter colors. I do like the green one you pictured and LOVE the blue one. If I don't find anything I like in next few weeks, I'm going to make one out of paper, like a scrapbook pocket page type thing. I can laminate the paper to make it more durable. I could use cute disney scrapbook accessories to decorate. I guess it only needs to last a week. I suppose the downfall is that only paper could be put in the pockets being they would be more narrow. I could use a little PVC pipe for the dowel and check scrapbook supplies, I think I may have disney ribbon. If it survives the trip, I could take out the dowel and trim it and use it to store little paper sourveniers in my scrapbook...

About how wide is the area where the fish extender hangs?

Michelle, I can't say for sure how wide that area is....as you can see, mine stuck out a little...but it still wasn't in the way of people walking by.
My guess is that it is about 9".

Somewhere on the Boards someone had posted instructions on how to make one. Not being a seamstress, I haven't really checked it out.

Both my friend and I (shown in the pictures) got our FE's on eBay.

I think hers is about 24" long.

They just need to be sturdy enough to hold any small gifts that we might do. You could do any number of other things, like a cloth bag...quilted or otherwise. Something with a handle to hang from the "Fish Mail" thing that's beside the door.
We also learned to take zip-ties to fasten them on the fish to discourage anyone from taking them.

Almost done with the signs now. Whew. Just trimming the edges with the "shaped" scissors, and then to attach stick-on magnets on the ones not on magnet paper.

I say yes to everything! You guys are great to volunteer to help. As you all know I will not be telling my kids until the night before so it would be hard for me to make anything..but I can bring stuff for the sail away party, you know bubbles, streamers ect... Just let me know how many in each party.

Let me know who to send my room number to or if we are going to just post it here. I will be glad to do either.....as soon as i get my room number

Oh my, I haven't even started thinking about door signs yet. I will add them to my "to do" list.

I had a little panic attack yesterday. I work full time so I don't accomplish a whole lot during the week which leaves the weekend to get stuff done. Yesterday I counted the number of weekend days that I have to get ready for the trip. Including yesterday, Memorial Day, and the day before the cruise, there are only 13! I have only 13, well now 12, days to get all of this stuff done!

So, with that being said, I'm not sure if we will do fish extenders. I would love to if I have time but if not, we will have to pass.

Name tags would be good. I would be willing to do them. We can use the label kind and I will them up on the computer.

Do you want to split the job? I'd be happy to do either. Let me know. I know how much fun it can be to create something with the die cut machine (don't we love our toys ), so if you want to do the poster, my feelings will not be hurt. I can do whatever you need.

I have purchased a bunch of stuff already. Most of it is more for kids, or adults who act like kids! Actually it's little "touristy" stuff....some of it is pirate, for pirate night, some is more Mexican-themed, and some is tropical/beach. All very small little items that could be useful, or may be one of those things that you take home and then later say "Why am I keeping this???". But the whole idea is just for fun, something to look forward to....like going to the mailbox around your birthday and finding a card!!

I think I pretty much have something for each day, except the first day on and the last day off. We won't most likely have our fish extenders up the first day, and obviously we'll be all packed up and leaving the last day.
Nothing too big to worry about packing space.... And most of it is one per cabin, except I think I have one or two items where I can put extras in for people with kids.

I also was thinking about giving something one day that is uniquely "Arizona"...or at least says Arizona on it. But that depends on what I can find that's inexpensive enough to buy a minimum of 12.

No one has to participate. It's totally voluntary. We aren't going to be keeping score!!
