Well, there was no thread for this that I could find, so I'll start it! Anyone else doing the 3-day Bahamas cruise on the Wonder that departs Port Canaveral on 5/20/2010???

I have added your thread to the cruise meet list :thumbsup2

Thank you! I would love to actually see some other people going on this cruise, LOL

It's my DBF's first cruise too! And my first Disney cruise. We are traveling with another couple (separate staterooms of course, haha)...no kids ;) All four of us are in our late 20s

I've checked for weeks and there was no thread so I am thrilled that one has now been started! My husband and I along with our kids 19 and 20 are on this cruise. Dh and I cruised this same cruise last Halloween and decided to take the kids in May. This is our 4th disney cruise and their 2nd. We are from just north of ATL, GA and are very much looking forward to this cruise. Is anyone doing FE's?

Hey Mary,

I was hoping someone else would do the FE's ;o) I think it would be kind of cool to do them with other adults (your kids included). We live in SC, also...only a couple hours from ATL!

We are on the May 20 cruise, kind of a Bday cruise for me (40). It Is Me and my Wife, with our 3 kids. 2 boys(16 and 12) and 1 girl (5) and a close friend of ours, who we are treating because she watches our kids so many times throughout the year. There are 6 of us total in 2 cabins. We got a great deal on the Florida resident rates.

Nice! This is my DBF's first cruise and a [slightly] early birthday present to him from me! (He will be 30--shhh!--about a week after we cruise)

Hopefully we will get a few people interested in the FE's! Now, I am a big fan of So Carolina, having graduated from Clemson many moons ago. Let's see if we can get a list going of those that want to do FE's. We'll just do one for the four of us. Our sons have the cabin next to us. We are in 6303 and 6305. Our first time ever in an inside cabin!

We live very close to Clemson ;) (I would send you the city in a PM if you want--not sure if I want to post it in a public forum like this)

I will definitely try to get the other couple traveling with us into the FE's. I think they'll be amenable. I'm probably going to order mine this week. We don't have a cabin assignment yet--we did a guarantee with a very tiny hope of getting upgraded :goodvibes The DBF has never been on a cruise, and this is a short one, so I don't think we'll mind an inside...although on my three previous cruises I upgraded myself each time (1st cruise--oceanview but with a TINY porthole window; 2nd cruise--oceanview with a big picture window; 3rd cruise--balcony) so this will be interesting for me, haha.

You don't have to give the name of the town. I don't blame you! I do love that area of South Carolina and loved my years at Clemson.

This will be our first experience together in an inside cabin. When my son graduated high school I went alone with him and his friends and we got an inside cabin on Carnival and it wasn't bad at all! On Disney we have always gotten cabins with balconies, but on our last cruise we really never went out there enough to make it worth the extra $$. We tend to spend alot of time on the decks of the ship and doing other things, so we thought since we were taking the kids this time and had to get them a cabin too, we would just try the inside. I think it will be fine!

Why don't we plan to get a list together by April 15th of those that want to do FE's. If you (speaking to everyone) do want to do it, and have a cabin number, just let me know and I'll compile it! If you don't have a cabin number, just list it as no current cabin assignment. We'll still put you on the list and then update with cabin number once they are assigned.

Do you mind if we push it back to April 24th? I hear that they usually send out cabin assignments about a month out...even if they mean a month out from the return date, doing it the 24th would hopefully get us cabin assignments, and we would still have nearly a month to get things together :cutie:

Fine with me! We can set it to the 24th tentatively and if we need more time, not a problem with me! :cheer2:

Good day to all of you fellow Wonder'ers!!
We'll also be on the May 20th sailing. We're from Central Pennsylvania.
It will be Me, DH, DD(26), DGS(not quite 3yo), DS(28) and his DF(28),(never mind how old I am:goodvibes), DH and I will be celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary about 2 weeks early.
DH and I have been on 2 prior 4-day Wonder cruises, and would have preferred another 4 day, but the "kids" want to do 5 nights at WDW first and time constraints wouldn't allow for a 4 day this time. This is the first cruise for the kids. We booked our rooms when we booked the cruise way back on July 29th. I was able to snag one of the Secret Porthole Rooms for me, DH, DD and DGS, DS and his DF are in a sideways cat 11.
I'll let you all know if we decide to participate in the FE's, haven't done that before, but sounds like fun.

YES!!!!! My wife and I will be on this cruise. We are so excited because this will be our first cruise ever and without kids as well. It will be our first trip without the kids in 10 years. I just hope the 3 day cruise will be enough, after reading some posts about the 3 day vs the 4 day. But oh well everything is booked now and I really dont want to go back and change everything. Any tips for a first time cruiser? What excursions, if any, has everyone booked in Nassau? Oh and what night is the Pirates in the Carribean party?

Tips--even for a 3-day cruise, bring more than one bathing suit! Haha. I could probably give about a million other tips but I wouldn't even know where to start.

We are booked for Discover Atlantis in Nassau, but I think we're going to cancel it and just take a taxi over to check out the resort. We don't have a huge desire to see The Dig or whatever...we just want to check out the hotel itself.

I *think* the Pirates part will be on Friday night.

And yay for more people going without kids! Not that I mind them at all...I have a beautiful niece and an adorable baby nephew who are my heart and soul...but I'm glad to see we won't be the only child-less people aboard!

The kids and I are just doing a bit of a self guided walking tour of Nassau, stopping at some shops and the straw market while DGS spends some time in the kids club, then the "kids" will probably hop into a taxi and head over to Atlantis for a few hours in the afternoon while DH continues to relax at the adult pool and I'll entertain the little guy at the kids pool.
We have reservations for Palo, but other than that we'll just soak in the atmosphere of the ship and Castaway Cay, see the shows, and eating way more than we should. DH usually goes to bed at around 10, so DGS will hopefully be asleep in the room with him while the rest of us enjoy the "nightlife". You'll probably find us at one of the lounges or up on deck 10 enjoying a bit of the rum.;) You can't miss us, I'm 6', dd is 6', DS is 6'5" and his DFiance is only 4'11".
The Pirate's Party is normally on Friday night beginning at around 9:45pm.
I'm a firm believer that if you try to load in too many activities you'll just overwhelm yourself. The Wonder is a beautiful ship, and the shows are great.

I would also be interested in possibly doing a FE, provided I can find the time to get everything together. My DBF and I are graduating from University the end of April, so we're extra busy right now. This trip is sort of a graduation present to ourselves. Currently we're in room 6067.

In Nassau we booked the Sunshine Glass Bottom Boat Tour, something my DBF is really interested in. Has anyone done this before? We're also thinking about renting bikes at CC.

We wil probably do the Fish Extenders as well. I just have to convince my wife.

When we booked the cruise, we were thinking there may not be alot of kids. It is during school time, and the end of the year is soon behind, so alot of people may not take their kids out. We did because we just couldn't pass up the deal. We will make them make up their work before we go. Maybe it will be a good thing, and the kids pool will be less busy.
