04/27/11 DCL's WONDERful LA-VANCOUVER REPO ON THE WAY TO ALAKSA

We had booked Muir Woods on Friday and Alcatraz Saturday, but then we decided to do a private tour group thing all day Saturday so we cancelled Alcatraz....hoping we could do an evening one on Friday....but the Muir tour gets back too late to do both...so we're considering not doing any DCL excursions in San Fran and trying to do it on our own and just do an independant morning Muir tour and afternoon/evening Alcatraz---and maybe if there's a bus-type tour of San Fran sights between then that would be cool. Any suggestions?
we booked muir woods, alcatraz and sausalito on one day through viator.

Ugh...then maybe that means there are no shows on Monday the 25th of Fantasmic. We're doing Club 33 on Sunday the 24th and don't really want to have to rush that to go do Fantasmic....and we're doing WOC with the Ariel's Dinner package on Saturday the 23rd. So if we call tomorrow and there are no shows on the 25th then maybe we'll have to do Fantasmic on either the 26th or the 22nd :confused3
Enjoy Club 33 - I loved it....took about 200 photos! Make sure to take an empty card if you haven't been before this...

our repo docs arrived! :yay:

Only negative is we're booked on DCL transfers and they don't even pick us up at the Grand Californian until 12:20pm!:headache:
I was booked using DCL transfers for my first cruise (Gr Ca to port) and after I found out the pick up time - I canceled...for 5 dollars more - I booked through a private company and I set the pick up time. Do a google search - there are a couple of companies that will do pickups. When you pick the time, remember that they think you have to be where ever 2 hrs before (based on flying I guess). I have an 8am pick up for 10am delivery to the port. Prepaid, tips included...I will see if I can find the phone number. If you can get a group - (about 6 people) the cost will be even less.

PrimeTime Shuttle - 58.00 with tip.

no cruise docs for repo as of yet.....

BUT....got the Alaskan DOCS...."alright!" :cool1:

Robin & Angel "D" :thumbsup2

We are actually flying in the day before, staying at the holidy inn by the airporot and using dcl tanagers. They did not tell us a pick up time in our docs...just to meet them at baggage claim on embarkation day-where we will be provided with more info.

I'm tnking about calling for more specific instructions...what do you think? Unless...I'm assuming it works like it does at Orlando airport.

My repo docs showed up a couple of days ago...I am not really worried about any of the docs, since I am B2B2B...I will not need the luggage tags, and online stuff is fine! I do like the book, I was glad when they switched to them - I think it was about 18 months ago....

No, it doesn't. You meet the agent at baggage claim, with your bags, they direct you to the bus, you haul your bags and make sure they go on the bus and then you make sure they get to the porter at the pier. It is nothing like FL. THat is basically what it says in the document booklet.

I have been told by my friends who work in SF that the hopon hopoff bus does not go to the WDM. You may want to check a map though because if it goes to the Persidio where the museum is you can hook up with a shuttle at the Persidio to the museum.

I know this has been asked and answered, but once again, because now I'm figuring this out - what would a cab to the Disney Museum cost approx?

Good Morning everyone.
It won't be long now.

Did another update to the ROSTER.

Sorry for the delay in any changes that needed to be made.
Life has been pretty busy here.

Looking forward to seeing everyone real soon.

Thank you! My husband is going to call dcl for a time to meet in baggage claim because our flight comes in the nightbefore.

I doubt they will give him a good answer. I would not get there much before 8 because the port won't be open to PAX boarding until about 10am. Don't set your expectations to be like PC, it is totally different. You drop your bags with the porters and go through a single door, you will have to show your ID and contract. Then you go upstairs to the check in area to get your room key and your boarding number. If you have to wait, you go to the next room and do the security scans of bags and bodys, then you can wait in the big room, plenty of seat, till they call you. There isn't anything to see in the terminal as it is shared with other cruise lines. They have some characters at times for pictures, we got there at about 1:45 in January and pretty much just walked from check in onto the ship. Although we drove and did not have to check our bags as it was only 2 nights, but that is how it works. If you don't want to rush, have breakfast at the hotel and take your time. And getting on at 2pm, we still were offered to have lunch at Parrot Cay.

We got a room!!! We are going to be in #2637. And its a small upgrade. We booked a Cat.11 and got a Cat.10, its a split bath so easier to get ready. We will be changing rooms for the Alaska as we will have a window for that cruise.

:cool1: on getting the room, and the upgrade!!!! You will enjoy that split bath - we are almost there!:yay:

My San Francisco sources tell me at $15 each way. Sue

Thanks Sue! I talked with my friend in the area today, and she wants to go with us after all - so she'll bring her car to the pier and pick us up, then park somewhere at her DBF's work near the pier. It's all coming together!:woohoo:

Thank you thank you! We will probably just enjoy breakfast at the hotel then head out. Thank you for the 'warning' about the terminal as well! That would have been a surprise for me.

Things are looking a bit better for us to cruise. But there is always a last minute things that may happen that we would have to cancel.

WE are a bit behind in planning!!

I never did put in my request to change to early dining for this and the Alaskan. Hoping that we can change at the port.

Hoping for my Docs this week!

Debbie
