04/27/11 DCL's WONDERful LA-VANCOUVER REPO ON THE WAY TO ALAKSA

Anyone interested in chartering a coach from Disneyland to the cruise port? I found a site that charters tour coaches. I have sent them an email to get an idea on cost.

We may be interested when you get the price

We generally use Super Shuttle when we are at DL - we will take one from the airport to hotel at the port - can't remember the price. Looks like we have not made that reservation yet - guess that is why I could not remember the price.

In the meantime I'll check these out

Got back the following response from one of the companies I emailed:

Dear Mary Jane
Thank you for your inquiry.

The transfer Disney land to San Pedro is $425.00 for a $56 seater coach.
There is no additional disount for multiple bus orders.
We would be happy to provide the service for your group and if there is any other question , please do not hesitate to contact us.
Do the client need to get back from San Pedro to Disney land on a seperate date ?
Please elt us know.

Sincerely,
Noonoosh

If we fill the bus, it would work out to less than $8 per person. What does everyone think? Is this something we may want to post on the main page to see if there is interest?

Don't forget about luggage space. There may be room for 56 people, but not 56 people with a couple weeks worth of luggage.

I thought of that, but if we get 40 people on the bus, it works out to just under $11 a person. That isn't bad ... The buses on the website look to have lots of luggage space under the bus too!

I think it is a good idea especially if you can get enough people interested.

Although, even if the coach wasn't full, if there were at least 15 people on it, it still works out cheaper than the $30 Disney charge.

We would be interested. We are planning to spend 3 days at DL before the cruise. Our hotel will be off DL property, any idea where the buss would leave from? Alex

Ken and Lynn, I hadn't heard about the shortage of DVC cabins available. I think it is very misleading as we purchased with the sales pitch that "you can use points for any Disney trip/cruise." Without starting a whole DVC discussion here, it is disappointing that they keep reducing our benefits. I booked this cruise on points, but very soon after the cruises opened. Apparently, they are not renting out as many of the cash rooms when these points are pulled out of the pool to book a cruise.

I think that's great! If we can get all of the luggage on, which I'm sure we can! I'm going to say we would be interested for sure. It just makes it easier for our family to take us down the hill to DL than across town during traffic in LA. I would suggest you get a list together and set a deadline for everyone to send money in advance to your PayPal account - that way everyone would be committed. We could all tip individually when we get there.

OK....we've created our blog page on which we intend to make regular posts during our upcoming Med and WBTA vacation (w/ pics)...any of our DIS friends here who want to follow our adventures can do so by visiting our blog at http://erikandjason2010.blogspot.com (I also put the link in my signature)

Thanks for the link Erik ... if you see Connie and Chuck on the cruise .. say Hi for Mary Jane!!!

Also, if anyone is interested in Afternoon Tea, I've been told this is the place to go! A little pricey, but from what I hear, it is well worth it. They are taking reservations now. Service starts at noon and they have reservations every 45 minutes. We will be there on May 2. Here is the link! Kirstyn and I are booked at 12:45!

Didn't see any link on our page one regarding hotel stuff for LA. I have a friend who is going to a seminar at Loyola near LAX next week and is looking for cheap ($100 or less) accomodations.

Can you LA folks advise regarding Holiday Inn Express on Airport Blvd and/or La Quinta on Century...the two she has checked out price wise. She will have a car, so she won't be out on the streets looking for taxis or walking around.

Thanks for your help!

We are getting ready for our RCCL to Jamaica in October - guess I'll get started planning this one after we get back :) I logged in to work on my docs and found we had been upgraded from ocean view deck 3 to Deluxe Balcony deck 8!:banana::banana: I would like to hope for the same PDpixiedust: for this cruise, but I think we are about full now.
