03/01/2008 Eastern!!

Hey all,
MAD wife chiming in. Enjoyed meeting everyone and hope everybody got home safe and sound. Back to work today and wishing I was some place warm and not having to make up a weeks worth of missed work. I do have a reminder of the cruise as I'm still rocking like I'm on the boat still. So makes it hard to perform surgery HAHA!
DD and DS were not too pleased with having to go to school today, but DD did get a good report back from the teacher (at first I thought the note would say she fell asleep in class since she didn't go to sleep until 11 PM last night). So kids are having a hard time adjusting to going to bed on time and mom and dad are having a hard time staying awake til 9 PM. I need some of Rani's insomnia so I can get laundry done.

Rani...I have to say that I agree with a lot of your comments, and it's hard to deal with people that weren't even there making judgements. I did weaken and post a comment over there about the correlation people are making about tragedies in life and missing CC. I don't think tragedies in life and missing a port can be compared! It's about not meeting expectations and the disappointments. And, yes, being there, I agree it was so much more than just "missing a port". Hang tough!! I admire your courage to speak out!!

Rachel, I did not EVEN get a chance to meet you. :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: Did I scare you away???? Oh I forgot, we were late for every meet..........:lmao: :lmao: Thanks to those who brought the meet to us the first day........ I gave you a Tink Family Time warning before we left. That was a "true hoot, not a riot" :lmao: to see this big huge group of people coming towards us. Oh I almost wet my pants. You guys are sooo cool. Even my DH came home and said, they were cool people..... He never says but about 10 words a day, so for him to say that was funny. You got half his daily words out of him.... Michelle, tell James he said they totally identify. Must be a "Michelle" thing...:lmao:

I agree with this post of yours totally. Well said...... Rani quiet....... She would be the one..... Have not read the main boards for about 20 hours, just was making me sick to my stomach.... Have they closed it yet? Rani as you can see, the insomina is back here as well.

Jennifer,

I posted three of my pictures for ya'll to see. Edit them if you'd like - I couldn't figure a way to do that.

25º in CT. I'm not a happy girl today.

Miss you guys.

Looks like they finally closed the thread over on the main page...I will be anxious to hear about this weeks cruise..I truly hope that both the weather and the engines didn't give them fits:)

Great photo's!!!! Jen, thanks for doing that for us...I will TRY to get some posted as well, still haven't even put them on a CD yet:sad2:

So does everyone still have their sea legs???? Last year I had them for about a week..but this year I haven't noticed it ..when we were on land in St.Thomas, I noticed it, but that was it:) I do however keep waking up in the middle of the night, and wonder where I am

LOL!! No, you didn't scare me...LOL!! I wasn't on the ball and got on the boards last minute. I would've loved to have met all of you...you seem like a hilarious group of people!! :dance3:

Have you all rebooked? We haven't, not sure what we're going to do...

I still have sea legs -- but wish I had sea bed.....I never slept better in my life!

As far as rebooking -- we did and I wish the cruise were next month -- I had such a great time and really wish I was still there.

As for getting things put away -- every time we've moved into a new house (this better be the last) Craig has given me a two-week window to get everything put away and have the boxes gone.....at first I thought it was horrible, but now I'm pretty used to it and manage to do it. When we moved into this house -- he also wanted to the pictures up in two weeks! I'm pretty decisive about things and did that too and not much has changed....I do that kind of stuff -- found my wedding dress in the first store on the first day, etc....did not quite acclemate to the ship on the first day or second!

Speaking of Mike Super -- how many times has your family used the word "LAVENOUS?" We have used it so many times for so many things that DS11 wants to put it in an essay for school and see if the teacher questions it!

BTW -- just got back from my Target -- they wondered where I'd been!

I wanted to thank Jennifer for setting up the picture sharing site--great idea!
I posted a couple this am, and believe me, if I can do it (with my limited computer skills) anybody can! :thumbsup2

We are also in cruise withdrawal: missing all you guys and the warm temps, and feeling the need to eat every 3 hours! I've unpacked just enough to find sand at the bottom of the suitcase . . .:lovestruc

Oh - a couple more thoughts --

Thanks everyone for coming to my aid on the now-defunct board we shant mention

I forgot to tell you that I walked away without buying a single photo from shutters. We took pics with our camera of almost all the times they took pics and they came out pretty much the same.....which is why I was able to buy so many pins for them to trade.

We started a loose change jar for the "pin fund." Our goal is to have 12 of the cheapest pins available for each kid to trade by the time we go on the next cruise. We have entered the realm of the "hidden mickey" trading sensation and love it!

Rani

PS - don't forget to update your sigs everyone!

In cruise withdrawal full swing here too...sea legs still going also...whenever I get back from a whiz bang trip like this I swear it takes me at least a week before I am fully back to normal! I am still dragging and getting back into routine has been sloooow. Kids are still on spring break for another week, so we are all taking it easy.

I don't know when 2010 dates are published. I can't wait though! We will probably wait for those before we cruise again.

Rani - Congrats on unpacking and no Shutters!! I did our Cmas cards this year, which feels GREAT because I am usually asking myself around Dec. 10 what to do about cards!

We've used the word "lavenous" a few times around here too! OH..by the way...go to his website and do the online magic trick...it's really cool! http://www.mikesuper.com/index2.htm

Weather is 44 here and lots of YUCK inversion here in Utah...my tan is slowly fading...:sad1:

I have not yet unpacked anything that is not a necessity. It will make me sad when I do because the realization will set in that the trip is really over.

We did rebook while onboard with a Dec 09 date, but we do not really intend on traveling on DCL again until Feb or March 2010. I asked DH Sunday if we cruise in '10 do you think that there is anyway to cruise again in '11, possibly on an inaugural cruise? I didn't get a yes, but I also didn't get a no, which is a positive step in my opinion.

I want to thank everyone who was so kind to all of my family throughout the cruise. Many of you made an extra effort to make my parents feel like part of our group and I really appreciate that!:grouphug: :grouphug:

I am planning on adding a few more pictures to the site today, everyone please feel free to download anything you want! I will talk to my I.T. guy tonight and see if it is possible to make it a restricted site. I can't wait to see more of your photos!

Audrey randomly used the word "Lavenous" last night, and sent us all into a fit of giggles! For those who cruised two years ago do you remember "Pink pajama's, Penguins on the bottom"? It is still sung regularly in this house!

For those who may have heard about my "bubbles" in my window, but did not get a chance to see them, I'm going to post a pic. DCL did eventually give me a 100 credit for the obstructed view.

Hey everyone -- Tink's next post will be number 1000!

Enough with the talk about the missed CC for now... Let's relive some favorite moments. I'll start:

The absolute highlight Disney moment of our trip pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

Grace collected the doilies from our dinner table each night. When we went to Palo on Sunday for dinner I started pulling the doilies from everyone's soup. Our server Sasha looked at me a little strange, and I explained that they were for my daughter, blah, blah, blah. He said that he has three daughters of his own, and so he understood "these things". Later that evening when we arrived back to our room there was an envelope under our door filled with... Doilies and a nice note from Sasha. I thought that it was so nice for him to have gone out of his way for us. Grace was thrilled when she saw this. A few moments later Grace came to me with one of the doilies folded in half and asked me to help her make a invitation to a tea party for two new friends that she had made on board, and their family. It was so sweet, that I promised "Of course, we will have a tea part in the Promenade Lounge tomorrow at 10:30" After which I thought to myself what am I doing, I don't even know if the lounge is open at 10:30 tomorrow, or if there is something else scheduled there! :scared1: :scared1:

The next morning after breakfast I went to the lounge to check out if our plan would be okay. On the way I ran into Christian, who asked me what I was off to do. Why plan a tea party of course! I told him quickly what had happened, and went about my way. The bartender was very nice, and suggested that we bring our own refreshments, to avoid the bar charge. Back to the room, and ordered cookies and a pitcher of lemonade (okay so it was a lemonade party, not a tea party) from room service. When it was brought to the room I tipped the server extra to carry it up to the lounge. While I procured plates, tea cups and spoons from the bar staff Grace busily laid out her prized doilies as place settings for the tea cups and cookies and made place cards on each of the seats for her guests. Christian stopped by the lounge to see how are party planning was coming along. I asked Grace if she would like to invite Christian, to which she replied "I'm sorry there's not enough room". :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 (from the mouths of babes, right):rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

One of the kids that Grace had invited stopped by to say her mother was not going to be able to make the tea party. Grace turned to me and said "Christian can come now. There was a cancellation." To this he laughed and said he had a few things to check on (yeah, like a whole ship of other passengers!) and that he would be back. We finished setting up, cherries for lemonade garnish and all, when Grace's guests (DD, DGD, DGM, DSis, two new friends, and their father) arrived. Just as the drinks and cookies were served here comes Christian. In hands he has a "Princess at Sea" sash, and 10 Tinkerbell invitations with the following printed on the inside:

"You are cordially invited to attend a Tea Party hosted by Miss Grace.
Taking place this morning on this the 4th day of March, 2008 in Paomenade Lounge, deck 3 midship aboard the Disney Magic"

Christian even stood before the tea party and read the invitation like the town crier, in his most regal voice. He then passed out a copy of the invitation to each of the guests, adorned Grace with her sash, and sat down to join us for "tea".

Without prompting Grace held up her cup and said "I would like to thank all of you for coming to my tea party."

Later I heard her tell her Audrey "See what great things can happen when you throw a tea party!"

The number of crew members that went out of their way to make this very small thing so glamorous in my little girl's eyes is truely Disney Magic. They all deserve loads of pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: :love1: :love1: :love1: :love1: :thanks: :thanks: :thanks: :thanks:

Now I want to hear some of your "best moment" stories!!!:surfweb: :surfweb:

Feiste -- that was an amazing story!

I will say -- the crew did go out of their way to make our every day special. DS11 discovered his love and affinity for pin trading. He (we) also discovered that Disney now owned the muppets. We discovered this when DS11 came to us with a "Statler"pin. Now, this is most significant because when Craig was in a fraternity - his pledge name was Statler. So DS11 goes all over the ship - staring at every single pin he can find looking for Waldorf. Well - wouldn't you know it - DD4 goes with Craig and trades a crew member for "Waldorf." And -- when they arrive at the show and DS11 sees this -- she won't trade with HIM! So DS11 goes on a hunt for "Waldorf" to no avail and tells everyone that we're on a hunt for "Waldorf" and gives his stateroom number to anyone who'll take it to alert him if they are able to trade said pin. He goes to the Treasure Ketch and meets Mary-Jo who (did I mention this was a HIdden Mickey cast lanyard pin?) takes his stateroom number and says she'll keep an eye out.

Well - on Thursday, after DS11 had gone to the room for something -- he comes running at me when he finds me at the Mickey Pool with a certificate in hand saying -- "I got and award for pin trading!" The certificate was for becoming an expert pin trader and it was from Mary-Jo and was in the fish next to the door. On the top right hand corner of the certificate was the "Waldorf" pin!

He went down that night to thank her and tell her how much it meant to him (he later completed the collection from that set) and how he just really appreciated it. While we were thanking her, DD4 pointed out the lime green Hidden Mickey pin that resembles the green Mickey head from this board (Feiste know of what I speak) and says she loves it. Mary-Jo pulls it off her lanyard and says, "Since your brother got one, you should, too!" DD4 was ecstatic!

So where was DS9 during all of this -- up playing ping-pong -- all trip!

Rani

OK - so I figured out how to upload some pics to the site. However, I couldn't figure out how to change the description. We were able to go into the Walt Disney Suite while they were cleaning after the cruise and uploaded some pics. The stateroom host also gave us the Bon Voyage sign from the door that they were going to throw out! So that is what the room pics are of on the site. Enjoy!

If you click below the title a bar should come up to type in. A few of the photos are currently showing different titles on the site as to what is on my computer, but the IT guy does not arrive home until after 6:00, so I will question him then...

That is too funny! Josh (norm and Kim's DS) commented on my lucky lime green mickey head pin all week. I had seen a cast member in Treasure Ketch wearing one early in the week, so on Friday I went to trade for it so that I could give it to Josh. Alas it was gone!!! She looked everywhere for another one. Now I know that your little beauty is the one who probably ended up with it. I gave Josh my pin anyway. Later that night when I was back at Treasure Ketch Mary-Jo came over to me and said - "I wasn't able to find you a Green Mickey Head, but I did find this Pineapple Yellow one." I was quite impressed with her for remembering me, and I now am the proud owner of a yellow Mickey Head pin, but I will remain on the lookout for another Alien Green pin!

Do you think that there is a way to have someone from the Magic Fed Ex me a slice of Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie?
