03/01/2008 Eastern!!

Do you think that there is a way to have someone from the Magic Fed Ex me a slice of Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie?

Oh, I've been craving the Triple Berry Napoleon from Topsiders all day! I ate two pieces of that one lunch--the best dessert I have EVER had. That pie was awfully good too. So rich! I made cinnamon rolls today, but they're not quite the same.

I know what everyone's talking about with the sea beds. I have not been able to fall asleep since we got home--even with Ambien! Up past twelve Saturday (waiting for Dsis to get to NY), past one Sunday and until three last night! Poor DD, I'm starting to get cranky.

I picked DD up sick from school after FCAT this morning. She's sneezing out all sorts of green gunk. (Sorry if that's TMI) Started antibiotics this afternoon. Hopefully, she's better tomorrow.

I'm loving all the photos. Makes me miss the cruise and all of you more! I still haven't downloaded mine onto my computer yet. Please keep the stories coming too!

Trying not to eat a cinnamon roll for dinner...

Feiste - That is truly an awesome story, and the very thing that really sets Disney apart from the rest.

I don't have quite that magical of a story, but I did have an experience that I was really happy about:

On the morning of St. Maarten day I was doing some laundry waiting for my shore excursion for that afternoon. :laundy: I started my 3 loads of wash and returned about 30 minutes later to find 2 of my loads done, and the third one stuck with 22 minutes still left.

The other people in there with me said that sometimes the door gets stuck and won't lock and there have been problems with washers and dryers.

I called guest services on the phone and they said they'd send someone right away...I had some confidence that someone would really come, after all, this IS Disney...but, a little worried thinking that I'm all the way on the 7th floor in this tiny laundry room...what are the odds someone will be there "right away?"

Sure enough, within minutes, Sammy (dressed in white...like Christian...not sure what his title is?) came and took a look at the door. He wasn't able to fix it, and my clothes were still sitting in standing water in the washer. I was starting to get antsy, because this now threw me behind schedule and I wanted to be able to have all of the laundry folded and put away before I had to leave for our afternoon bash excursion.

When Sammy realized he wouldn't be able to fix it and there were no other available washers, he and 2 other CM's took all of my dripping wet, half soapy clothes from the washer into a plastic bag and took them to their commercial washers with promises of my clothes being back by that evening! :woohoo:

I was absolutely floored...thrilled that my laundry would be done and I didn't have to worry about another washer mishap! That night, my laundry was folded and hanging in my closet as promised, and as I was getting ready for dinner, the phone rang...it was Sammy to ask if I had received my clothes and if everything was returned alright. I thanked him profusely and told him how much I appreciated the extra service he provided! :thumbsup2

I can't help but wonder what would've happened on another cruise line and how they would've handled the same situation. I doubt the service would've been anywhere near what Disney provided.

Gotta love Disney service!!

I have some great pics of our servers that I'd love to send them via email -- anyone know how to do that?:confused3

Good morning all.

Well, I get bad-mommy pin for the day! DSJosh had such a terrible rash and it's been going away - slowly. He begged to go to see the doctor today so DHNorm took him in.

He's got Cercarial dermatitis! Oh my gosh - it sounds bad. Its write up is even worse. You get it from swimming in the Carribean! Doc gave him Zyrtec and prednisone. It'll clear up very quickly.

If you want to be aware but totally grossed out/freaked out - read on.

Have a good one!

Sorry to hear that Kim! We have had a few bouts with swimmers itch from swimming in Lakes in the summer in Michigan. NO FUN! I have been told that the most important parts to avoiding this is towel drying completely after swimming. I sure that this information is of great help now...

Feiste, much to my dismay, you posted first...Saratoga Springs will not have free internet until "spring."

It was so nice to see all of you. I really need to catch up on the post cruise posts and probably will not get to that until this weekend as I have to catch up on work and homework and laundry (I am trying hard to forget the laundry). :laundy:

On Saturday, we stayed overnight at Saratoga Springs (our home DVC resort) and shopped at Downtown Disney. Outside of the pin stand, I talked with a guy about Feiste's green Mickey head pin. He told me it was part of a four pin fruit series. They were a cast collection. I went to ebay and found tons of them.

Sorry to hear about that Kim! We didn't have that problem, but my DD did step on a sea urchin while were on Coki Beach and that sure was a pain! I actually ended up pulling the thorn out of her foot at the ships Dr. office!!! The nurse there was...well let's just say...the opposite of what you'd expect at Disney!

Kim -- that totally sucks! Anytime you get something like that on vacation - it's worse than just getting it. We honeymooned in Israel and went floating in the Dead Sea. Craig's skin just could not take it and he had to shower almost immediately. The salt and the sulfur from the shower made it unbearable for him -- he never puts anything on his skin (except sunscreen, but that's recent.) so it was as issue for several days!

Teresa -- you guys are back! We were also in downtown Disney on Saturday and touring the DVC location there with Edwin. Sorry we didn't get time to connect on board!

MAD - everytime I saw you guys I was either rushing or dealing with DD4 -- save for the skull discussion -- wish I would have had more time! Your wife's a surgeon?

Anybody heard from Micday? she's missing in action....

Rani

and yes -- I'm post happy -- I actually dreamed of Disney last night --- I think I"m hooked for life!

Rani - I just looked at the photo you took of me pin trading , and that guy is wearing the green mickey head that I was going back to look for. Also in the dessert buffet line, I think that you may have caught my dad in your photo. Is that him in the white shirt on the left hand side?

Glad your home safe and sound! It was so great to meet! I've got my watch button turned on for a few of those ebay auctions!

I tried to add a pic but I don't know if I did it right...it added it to the top of the page and not the bottom? I don't want to add more until I know if I'm doing it right??

Where was the chocolate peanut butter pie?? YUM...As much as I looooved the chocolate buffet, I was disappointed that there wasn't a single item with chocolate and peanut butter together...I even asked! LOL!

What a fun photo! You can add them wherever you want.

The Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie was an item on the dessert menu on Wednesday maybe? It was also available at the buffet on Friday at Topsiders. SOOOOO GOOD!!!!

Not quite the Magical experience that Jennifer had but I will chime in on this one. The 1st night at the welcome aboard show Joshua and I need a snack so we go to the snack bar outside Walt Disney theatre, and there is this girl who looks familiar, and she looks at me then looks at Joshua and remembers him from last years cruise when for all of you that don't know Joshua needed stitches from a head wound, and Joshua was in Mickey's Mates buying something and she noticed the stitches and sent him a get well note to our room. So getting back to my story.. She sees us in line ad says "hi"," "I remember you", We were talking for a bit and she let Joshua get what ever snack he wanted except for soda, Not only did this happen then but everytime he went to the Walt Disney theatre. I believe her name was Mischa.
To this day Joshua has that geet well note hanging in his room somwhere.

Hope all is well..
Norm

Did I tell you all that I ran into someone I went to high school with on the cruise? I hadn't seen him in - literally - 20 years. And so maybe that wouldn't sound werid except that I went to school in a very small town in Washington State! I thought I recognized him in the terminal, but didn't go over to him because it was suggested to me that I would feel ridiculous all cruise whenever I saw him --- because what would be the odds that I would run into someone from my high school?!:!?!

So later in the week, I passed him and asked and he said, "I thought I recognized you -- but I wasn't sure." Weird!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Ok...posted more pics, but one of mine was sideways. I can't figure out how to delete, so I added it again, this time right side up! Sorry for the duplicate..hopefully Feiste can delete it? I am so bad at stuff like this!!

Rani - That is definitely weird! Did he recognize you? That must mean you haven't changed much since high school! :thumbsup2

let's just say i haven't changed much from head to toe! I look pretty much the same -- you know, with some additions.....

he totally recognized me and when i met his wife, she said she'd seen me all around the ship...and then I ran into him a couple times a day....it was kind of weird, actually! :rotfl:

Hello Everyone. We got back late Sunday night. I have been trying to catch up on work. Also, we have been handling two sick kids.

I missed the Pirtate Party on board because I was sea sick. Then Friday, our DD was ill and I got to eat in the room. Our wonderful server, Alicia, had the meal plated up and my DS brought it down to the room.

I had a melt down mid way through the trip. I always seem to have a problem with the fact that at some point, even thought in my head I realize this is a vacation with a tilt toward the kids, I WANT A VACATION TOO. Unfortunately, I also was sea sick, which made me kranky! I guess it was probably lucky I spent Friday night in the room watching over a sick DD.

So, add a need to attend a pirate party AND go to Castaway Cay as reasons to book in the future. I was looking toward March/April 2010. Haven't got the okay from DW yet, but we'll talk. (Especially after - I thing - I vowed never to go on vacation again at some point in my kranky state).

It took me awhile to catch up to the posts. I was consoled to see that others had some difficulty with illness. More dramamine and bonine on the next cruise. Maybe more alcohol as well.

Great to hear from all of you. It was also really great to meet many of you. Good people are hard to come by. It was amazing so many of you were on the same trip at the same time.

John
