03/01/2008 Eastern!!

Since some of you are past cruise-mates, I will post to help the post count.
I wish you all a great voyage pixiedust: I will be here in the soggy NW living vicariously through your TR:surfweb:

125, YOU GUYS DID IT..............

I've been off the boards trying to get ready.... So I did not help with the 125 goal, but we did it..... Looking forward to seeing you all.....
Just checking in to say "see you tomorrow:"                   . We are outta here........

Trying to stay from my suitcases today. I have a bad habit of unpacking and repacking in a panic the day before a vacation.

DD was up by 6am!

Looking forward to meeting everyone!

Am I the only one still here...my Dsis just left for the airport in NY. I did some paperwork, polished my toenails--and am staying away from the suitcases.

I'm still here...am I last? I have to wake up in 5 hours to get our ride to the airport. I need to get out of here.

CRUISE HERE WE COME!
:cheer2: :cheer2:

I'm still here...eating breakfast, throw in the make-up bag, that's it. I hadn't planned to leave until 9am, but I think we'll be on the road a little early.

See you all in a bit!

We got home around noon. DD made it to her b'ball game and we are now doing laundry, making a grocery list, unpacking, playing with the cat and listening to the wind howl! Hope all you travelers make it home ok. DSis's flight to LGA just got cancelled. She is really frazzled. Crossing fingers for all.

Our first DCL cruise was awesome and we enjoyed meeting so many DISers. It was great to see friendly, familiar faces almost everywhere we went!

Wow. I feel really good today. Missed my bed although I miss DCL's pillow. Shower was nice - I actually did the hokey pokey in the shower - not outside of it.

What a trip this was! I'm happy with what we did do. We had drinks thrown at us left and right, shipboard credit from prior cruise was nice and the $100.00 was also nice.

I'm disappointed I didn't get to shop more. Had I known we'd miss the shopping on CC I would have shopped more on the other islands. Egg on my face. I'm disappointed we didn't get to CC. I'm even more upset, as Holly says, hearing that the ship may have been mechanically challenged. I don't know that we'll ever hear the real story. It's unfortunate but we met sooo many awesome people. For those who did not seek out your fellow DIS'ers - you missed out on some pretty kewl peeps!

I've never had such horrible weather to come home in. I'll never travel this late again. I will consider traveling mid February if I get back to my Feb. vacations again.

I'll post pictures on my site if I get that far....

Have a great day everyone - miss my buffet already. (I'm on my way back to Weight Watchers today to find out the damage!)

Kim :)

Good Morning Everyone!!!!

I really enjoyed meeting so many of you!!!!!

I know that there is some disappointments out there with some of the missed/delayed ports on our cruise, and I am sorry for that.

Overall we had a great trip, we did have more than a few "magical" moments that helped us to make up for the late St. Marteen arrival, and missed CC opportunity. All the free drinks that I swiped on those days helped a little as well!

I'm downloading photos right now (how did I take 750 since Feb 26?), and will post a few later today.

The drive home was fine, although a wicked winter storm had gone thru Southern Ohio yesterday (12-15 inches?), and roads were sheets of snow covered ice for about 3 hours. DH said that he didn't think that he had more than an occasional tire/road connection for about two hours. We made it home at 4:30 a.m. (5:30 with the time change) We stopped to get two types of ear drops for Grace on the way home (one in case it was swimmers ear, and one for pain). Between that and the ibuprofen every 6 hours we made it with minimal crying.

Many fun experiences to share and relive with all of you, but for now I need to find that darn buffet in my house, because someone seems to have removed all of the food from my fridge!

Feiste/Jennifer

I don't have the time to write all the wonderful things I want to say about this trip right now! In my whole life, I have never been so sad to leave a vacation and come home -- yet I am still wishing I were in the lap of luxery on the ship. I got all my unpacking done and have three loads of laundry done.

Many thanks to everyone I met who made this trip so wonderful.....there's nothing like being somewhere you've never been and hearing your name called out so many times.....

More later folks! Our new countdown calendar says 729 till the cruise!

(Of course, it may be changes as time goes on!)

Always,
Rani

Hi ALL-----

The TINK Family is home safe and sound too. We just got up as I feel I need a week of vacation after vacation. 10:45 and both my BOYS are still sleeping. DD is still walking around saying "shake shake shake, shake shake shake, shake your booty". I think she is just using that as an excuse to say the word.:rotfl:

Suitcases are in the livingroom as they did not make it any furthur. I will unpack today. No, I did not get a chance to wash all of of the clothes. So 2 of our 8 suitcases have dirty clothes......:headache:

Guys I had a blast meeting all of you and hanging out with all of you. I feel I have made true life time friends. I guess as soon as we buy blue jeans, we can head to Nebraska.....:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Holly, thanks for the link, I will go back and read it after this post. It was great to meet you and DS. DD asked about him on the flight home. Thank you for finding me.

Karen, I commented on the bedspreads again as we had another allergic reaction  . After that, we threw it in the hall, so at least I know the next people will have a clean one. :dance3: Great meetring you and your family.

Kim and Kim, great to find you first..... My DH thought your DH were funny.

Brenda, brunch was great. It was great to dine with friends.

Michelle, it was great to connect with you guys. Great conversations.

Jennifer, You are a true hoot. See, I am not a siko and giving your # to me was okay. I guess you still get the queen hat. I LOVED your parents. Tell your mom we have to party on land. Hope DD's ear is okay.

Rani, we had a blast.... Be sure to send me a link to that CAPT. Meltdown moment. As soon as we know our plans of coming that way, I will let you know.

Mike, my dear tablemate and friend...... It was such a blast to eat with you guys. See the girls still loved each other at the end. We do still need to get there to see you.... As soon as DW gets the new kitchen we are there.

Figment and S_Minnie, It was great to meet you.

For everyone else we did not get a chance to meet; I hope you had a great time. We did and the DIS rocks.....:disrocks:

EVERYONE, no internet pictures, I can not end up on "the tube".:rotfl: :rotfl: I have to go back and recall every night to make sure I was not dancing on the tables.....:upsidedow

Despite ALL the problems, I sure hope everyone had a good time and enjoyed the 4 1/2 days at sea. We will keep in touch and hopefully still keep our thread in the first three pages. Come to post events in your lives, so that we all stay connected. DID ANY OF YOU REBOOK WHILE ON THE SHIP?

We will keep up our e-mails to all of you and will still check in at leat onece a day. For the next two weeks, we will still check daily to make sure everyone made it back safe. Talk to you all soon.

Hey, did anyone get the bed turn down for them last night with a little animal on the bed? For some reason we did not...... I think something is wrong....:grouphug:

Hello Everyone !!

We spent ALL day at the airport yesterday due to the winter storms. NC's weather is in the upper 40's. I can tell you that we are the onlt family around here with sunburn !!

I really enjoyed meeting everyone that I meet. My DH explained the Disney cruise to a tee.

" The Disney cruise is a great Disney experience but it is NOT Disney World "

I had expectations and what I experenced was not what I excpected. Did I have a great time, YES !! Will we go again, YES !!

For some dumb reason I expected it to be like Disney World theme parks, I don't know if you guys understand what I mean but then if you meet me maybe it does make sence ?!!

I thought the service was GREAT and DD had a great time.

You guys are a bunch of wonderful people that made this cruise so great. Yes, we did miss CC but what a great excuse to rebook !!

I will miss you guys until we can meet again.

Who rebooked and when do you set the date ??

I'll post pictures as soon as my DH can hear again. Poor Hubby was sick the whole cruise wether it was sea sickness or sinuses and he still wants to rebook !!

Michelle

The ejkj family is home as well!!! We made it home about 11:30 last night...We had a good plane ride home,
Michele and James.... sorry to hear about your airport delays, that would be a MAJOR bummer

What a GREAT week...despite missing "Cast a Way Cay". It was so fun meeting everyone, and hanging out with so many of you!!!!!!

I too am missing all the perks of cruising, like for instance, when everyone woke up this morning and said, "I'm hungry.....there was NO buffet to send them to :sad2:

Then to top it all off..I just walked past our bedroom, and the bed is still NOT
made:scared1:

not to mention.... it is AFTER lunch, and I haven't had anyone offer me the drink if the day!!!!LOL!!!

It really was an awesome week, and it truly did make it a lot more fun for us, because of ALL of you!!!!

We found the entertainment to be over the top, the Disney productions as well as Mike Super, Michael Harrison, Jeff Civicilo and Alfred and Seymore...TOO stinking FUNNY!!!!!!
We laughed SO much esp...the first night, with the unicylce!!!! OMGosh, I can't ever remember laughing so hard in my life, I seriously couldn't breathe!!!!!

Emily and Kaylee didn't take advantage of the clubs again this year, Kaylee went to the digital postcard, and the pool party, but that was it...how about everyone else...did you kids enjoy the clubs???

Kaylee did do a lot of swimming and had fun hanging out with Micday's DD...very seldom would you see one without the other:hug:

I read a post were they said that one of the ship's medic's onboard, said that there was a lot of seasickness...did any of you have trouble with it during the week???
Tink, I know that you and your family did, and also that Micday's DH had problems at the beginning of the week as well...the only problems we had was on Thurs. I woke up a little queasy...but wore my sea bands that morning and was fine....

The suitcases are in the house, but that is it...The girls have rummaged through them getting all there friends gifts out....
but as far as unpacking today....I think I will give the washer and dryer another day off LOL!!!!!

Glad to hear that everyone made it home safely...
Brenda:)

Hello all...made it home today and exhausted. Had a great time, and our friends that went with us as first time Disney cruisers had a blast too.

My DH usually never gets seasick, yet this time he wasn't feeling that great.

We heard from a reliable source that 2 out of the 5 engines were out. :scared1: I guess the 5th is rarely used anyway, but they had guys flown in to take a look. Couldn't be fixed though during our cruise. I hope they got it fixed before they head out again.

I know weather was a huge culprit to the mishaps..but some were also saying that due to not having the 4 engines running, that it might've contributed to us not being able to get into Castaway Cay. Wonder if we'd have made it even with the winds on all engines. Also, with 2 engines, maybe it presented a problem with seasickness?

All in all, we made lemonade out of lemons and I actually love sea days, so I wasn't too upset the last day. I looooove Castaway Cay and was bummed, but these things happen!

Our friends had 8 and 10 yr old boys that didn't really want to be in the clubs either and wanted to hang out with them instead...wonder if this is an age thing (difficult age to entertain? Kind of in between the little kid stage, but not old enough for the teens stuff) or the clubs aren't that fun for these ages? I have 4, 6, and 14...so I am not familiar with that age group. Does anyone have any similar experiences?

Off to unpack...maybe....:surfweb:

Hi, Cruisers! We made it back to VT, despite a few delays (JFK) and lost luggage.
It is definitely still winter here! Next time I think I will stay on the ship until April! :thumbsup2
Much fun and lots of memories! It stings a bit to think about missing CC, but I have to remember a bad day on the Magic is still pretty darn good. In fact, I miss the whole daily vacation routine: eating, sunning, chatting, DOD'ing, repeat. No dinner and a show tonight!

It was great to meet so many new friends! Thanks for making the week even better! It just went by too fast . . :sad1:
Can't wait to see everyone's favorite pics!

Hi again everyone-

I'm very glad to hear that others around DD10's age were not into the kids' activities. I couldn't get to DD to get to but a few activities. She did enjoy the pool party (thanks Brenda for introducing the girls!) and talking to the captain, but other than that...

Tink, I got rid of the bedspread the first day. Sorry you had trouble again. Ugh. I am never a bedspread fan.

SInce I was traveling with so much family, I didn't spend a lot of DIS time, but wow, how nice was everyone! Even DH, who doesn't really "get" the DIS enjoyed Wii bowling with a bunch of DISers. (Congrats Jen!)

As I said on the Magic thread, we enjoyed our cruise, even with the missed port time. Hey, being on a cruise ship is way better than being at home, work or school. We just decided to enjoy it and we did! Seven days of laundry sure is a lot though!!

PS - I made quiche for lunch. DD didn't want it, so I said she could get herself a yogurt. She wanted to know what else there was! Cruise habits die hard!

Hey Everyone-
I am going to start a meets thread for our kids under DS. Maybe they can post back and fourth with each other about cruise stuff. Look for it, I will post it as 3/1/08 Piratemates, okay. :hippie:
