03/01/2008 Eastern!!

Thank you Rainy. I got lucky and guessed the right pronounciation due to the "dayz". Nice to know I can guess right upon occassion.

I wasn't so lucky while I was reading the Harry Potter books out loud to my son. I was book 4 before I realized I had been mispronouncing Hermione. It took us a few chapters for my son to stop questioning the way I said the names after that. He did like my Hagrid impersonations though.

And, no I don't drink all the time. I'm just looking forward to a week of sitting by water and relaxing.

Hello everyone. Yes, I'm one of the newbies on the thread. Everyone seems like they've been friends forever. How long has everyone been on this thread....I feel so out of the loop :confused3

Right on Figment!!!!

I pronounced Hermoine wrong as well and I think I pronounced Snapes first name wrong and the godfathers first name for so long that I couldn't ever get it right afterwards.... See, people like my DH Craig don't have the same issues (our last name is a kicker -- but you'll have to wait till the cruise for that one (it's the internet, remember) -- because everyone pronounces that right -- but I went through a whole life dealing with this hippie-crazy name and I've still got people who've known me for years calling me REnee......

Chocolate -- I don't begrudge the evolved person who can appreciate the deep rich flavonol of dark chocolate. I am not that evolved - though not for lack of trying and trying. Give me the sweet, gooey chocolate anytime!

Shellfish -- my goodness - man, if you like shellfish -- order four lobster tails for dinner in one night!!!!During my third pregnancy, I wanted king crab legs so bad. So when Craig would eat those tiny little blue crabs from Maryland - I'd sit on the edge of my chair and watch ever move while he ate vicariously for me!

Cheesecake -- you have the right idea -- let's try every single flavor WITH every single type of dipping sauce!!!

Wonderful idea!

don't feel out of the loop!:cloud9:

I joined back on what page --- prior to 34 according to feiste --- and a lot of the folks have already traveled together and apparently ended up on youtube together ;)

just post, question, tell us about yourself, laugh a little at the bizarro things everyone says and then add some of your own.....this board has seriously increased my excitement for this cruise a billion-fold --- I can't imagine having prepared for it without these people:sad1:

Let's see.......I'm seriously stressed over packing. I have so many different lists that I can't remember what I still need. I've spent so much money (dead presidents?) getting ready for the cruise & I'm not even done yet :scared1: I swore to my husband that I wouldn't overpack again...but I just can't seem to help myself :rolleyes1

I'm thinking of maybe just drinking my way the cruise....than I won't care what I look like for dinner

Oh & Downy Wrinkle Release is the way to go :thumbsup2

Needacruz, definitely don't feel out of the loop. I only joined a couple of "dayz" ago.

By the way, I've never met a fish I haven't eaten. I was just tryin' to give ya'll a fightin' chance. As for cheesecake, I can't get enough.

As to bizarro things being said, I can say some really stupid things upon occassion. NEVER mean to offend, but can be pretty socially inept at times. Always going for the laugh. (Or at least trying too.) I used to have the whole "Whose on First" routine memorized.

packing - make a calendar for each person for each day; divide into morning/day-excursion/and dinner. then put the days across the top -- write in each outfit. pack those outfits plus one extra for either choice change or spills......:cutie:

meds -- take everything you need and everything you may anticipate needing because as I understand - you have to give up an organ to pay for onboard doctor services:sick:

Personally, once I have everything assembled for everyone -- I then split it up between suitcases in case any case gets lost.....

I think anyone on the boards longer than me (especially Tink -- who has watched the evolution) has seen me go from extremely jittery and stressed to majorly excited and a little nuts or

and---- apparently - I seem to be missing all the regulars tonight --- where are you guys?

Okay, question on the wrinkle release thing, I can't stand ironing and the DW can't stand that I can't stand it. I prefer wash and wear. I have to wear suits everyday to work, so nobody ever really sees any part of my shirts other than the collar.
Is the wrinkle release a spray or a dryer cloth?

Just had mahi mahi for dinner -- but I'm fromthe Pacific Northwest -- it's all about salmon for me -- preferably smoked! And I definatley can' turn away ahi!

here's the secret:

Use a garment bag for all things that shouldn't be wrinkles. Put items in cleaners' plastic bags so the wrinkles will be minimized. the day you are going to wear the items that should not be wrinkles -- put them on hangers and put them in the bathroom and use the shower steam to get out the wrinkles.....voila!

It's a spray. They have the large bottles and travel size. I hate ironing too, so I will do anything I can to avoid doing it!

Hey, any other Muggles - or perchance, Wizards - on this cruise? After all, we are sailing on the "Magic".

Thanks, I was hoping it was a spray. Maybe I can test it for day to day use. I hate wearing the suits, but you do what you must. I always feel the tie is a ready made noose when somebody doesn't like what you're doing, they just grab it a pull.
Can't wait to change from dress suit to bathing suit.

Figment,
What is your job that you have to wear suits every day?

Hello everyone!!! You guys have been busy since I last checked in!!!!!
I'm going to go catch up on all the post I missed:thumbsup2

Okay...Rani, do you roll up your garments in the plastic dry cleaner bags..or do you lay them in the suitcase flat on the top :confused3 ???

You can do either depending on the garments. You should not hang bathing suits -- that's just silly:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Dresses, suits, fancy slacks - they can be hung with plastic around them or between them. Shirts can be layered with plastic and then placed onthe bottom of the suitcase and have rolled things on top (tshirts, swim stuff, etc) so that you can wrap the tails and sleeves over the stuff in the center to create the staightest situation.

don't forget to put your shoes in shower caps to protect the clothes around them....

i definately need my own travel show.....when I grow up.

Doin' my best to help the page cause. I forgot, who increased the challenge to 150?
Anyway, when the responses come in on food and drink, I would also like to know, what is everyone looking forward to the most on the cruise?

Personally, I can't wait to show the kids a moonglade.

No...what you definately need to do... is COME PACK for me...please:lovestruc

As far as wrinkle spray goes...I think I will just send my wrinkles out to you girls to fix for me LOL!!!!
