I may not be as organized as Rani, but I too have begun to get ready for the trip. Yes, the all important pre-cruise tanning has begun! Now if I could just motivate myself to start working on a packing list I might be ready to go by the 29th

I'm right there with you...pre-cruise tanning is under way here as well...and hopefully the packing will start here in the next day or two

I'm getting ready too, just bought shoes to go with my formal/semi-formal wear. Packing, nope but I do have the suitcases on the floor in the closet.

On another thread, a few of us were talking about starting a thread for passing items on (sand toys, over the door organizer, extra unopened bottles of water or snacks, etc...) after your cruise. Someone mentioned that if you leave items at Guest Services or with your Room Steward with a cabin number or name, they will put items into someone on the next cruise's cabin.

DCL has put a stop to this. They will no longer accept any items from guests for other guests. It was a great idea, but unfortunately will no longer work.

Just wanted to pass this along for any that signed up for this.

Going to the tanning beds. I figure a little bit of tanning beds is better than a really bad sunburn!

BTW let me know if you'd like me to send a note to your boss. I can just photocopy the one I send to the girls' school, cross out their name and put yours in it's place. Think it will work?

Okay..here's our POD or should I say PON (picture of night) LOL!!!! It is smaller than we wanted, but we were doing good to get this...Emily is the one who actually figured it out...

The picture is of Kaylee and her friend Annie dancing it up at one of the pool parties during our cruise last March.... it was during a port day, so there wasn't a whole lot of people around.

This of course is Kaylee, who is on the bed that folds down from the ceiling. As well as one of the famous towel animals, that.... are you ready for this?
Kaylee made during the "towel folding class" that we took during a at sea day!!!!! (she of course had help from one of the CM ) but was proud of it all the same

Feel free to redirect me if this has been discussed before, but what excursions is everyone taking? If you don't go on an excursion, can you hang out at the beach? Do we dock close enough to a beach that we can just get off the ship and find some sand nearby?

We're currently booked for:
See and Sea Island Tour (St Maarten)
Coral World Marine Park by Land and Sea (St Thomas)
Skyride to Paradise Point (St Thomas)
Glass Bottom Boat Scenic Voyage (Castaway Cay)

I'd really like to rent the floats at Castaway, but the age limit is 5 and Ryan is 4.

Does anyone have experience on these excursions, good or bad? I'm concerned we might be overdoing it and should eliminate one of them.

This trip is really stressing me out

This trip is really stressing me out

We did the Skyriide to Paradise point on our trip in '04. My DD Grace was only 4 back then. I cannot remember if we went thru DCL, or if we just went ourselves. The view was wonderful (I'll look for some pics to post). Very mild activity.

We have always rented the floats at CC. We usually get a couple of the packages that give you floats, snorkel gear and bikes. We rotate the floats, and then add on extra bike rentals.

I am planning to go to Coral world while in St. Thomas, with my mom, dad, and DD Grace (8). We are not booking this thru DCL. DH and DD Audrey (10) are going on the Captain Nautica's snorkeling tour.


My DH is a beach junkie. We will spend the afternoon at the beach in St. Marteens (He and DD are doing the 12-Meter Regatta Race in the a.m.) It seems like the last time we were in St Marteen we walked on and off the boat. DH and DB got back off the boat in the evening and went to see some local culture:



I got paged 10 minuted before all aboard to say that some members of our party were not back yet. . They did make it back with about 2 minuted to spare.

The beach we went to in St Marteen is not far, but it does seem like we took a water taxi back to where the ship was docked.

Feiste - you beat me to the first post!!!!

Wish-mom -- my excursions will be to the pool, the restaurants, the dessert buffets and probably the alka-seltzer lounge! Seriously, four our five and the age gap between the kids, there was just not a lot of stuff for us all to do. DH is still trying to get me to swim with the dolphins.....we'll see!

KB and EK -- I am not doing the tanning thing as I'll catch up the first day in the sun....I'm a rapid tanner. However, I have highlights scheduled and will have a mani/pedi the week before which will promptly chip and break about 10 minutes before I get on the ship.

Heads Up -- On the issue of storage of luggage in the rooms. I went to Target (walking distance -- requirement for my houses!) (YET I don't walk because then I have to carry the bags home -- so must drive) and picked up a four peice nesting luggage set from American Tourister for $32 down from $130! I had a ton of luggage in the basement, but it was either very old and wouldn't make it or were of odd shapes and would take the whole room. So I'm just bringing two sets of nesting luggage to shove under the bed.

Still looking for a cooler to bring so I can take my room service onto the islands for lunch!
