03/01/2008 Eastern!!

Good night everyone, sweet dreams !!!

Wish me luck, I've got a meeting with the BIG boss about my vacation time tomorrow !

Michelle

First, thanks for your PM Feist. I tried to write back but it wouldn't send it for me. Something about my post number being too low. So, THANKS!

and hi officially to everyone else. My family is so excited to be going on our first cruise. We're taking this trip through the Make-a-Wish foundation for our four-year-old son.

I have some questions...can we bring in our own snacks or are they available on-board? I'm talking about pretzels and chips, that type of thing. Ryan, the wish kid, is a demanding late night muncher and I need to be prepared.

Hello and welcome back!!!!
Yes you can bring your own munchies onboard....and yes there is PLENTY of food onbaord, they have hot dogs, hambugers, nachos, pizza, ice cream etc. all day long and into the night as well. You can also order room service at any given time, fruit, cheese & crackers as well as pretty much anything...

Welcome! This is our first cruise, too -- so we've been absolutely bombarding the cruise vets with questions. I can't answer any questions about what happens on board, before board, on islands, in Palo, etc -- I seem to have one of the corners on packing and over-organizing, though:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I agree, however, I can't remember having any pretzels anywhere on board, so if that is a specific request you may want to pack those. My girls love room service! I bring a bunch of $1.00 bills so that I'm sure to have enough money for tipping room service. The only snacks I've ever brought on board are movie type snacks (milk-duds, juji-fruits and so on)to have during the shows. Other than that I agree there is plenty of food available everywhere!

You let your kids have candy during the show -- you're kids must love you! My kids would love to have you as a mom at the movies -- Truth is -- I would let them have candy sometimes if the candy at our theaters didn't cost $8 a box!

We'll have to sit thisclose to you during the shows!

:welcome: :welcome: :welcome: :welcome: WISHMOM :welcome: :welcome: :welcome: :welcome:

What a great wish! My neighbors went to Hawaii in the fall of 2006 for their 5 yo sons MAW. His mom tried to talk him into a Disney Cruise but he wanted to learn to surf. The family had a wonderful (and much needed) trip!

I must ask you about your profile - What does "living among oddly sized men" mean? I can only wonder...

Now it's time to bombard you with questions, How many in your party, what are their ages, what category stateroom are you in, do you have late or early dinner seating, when are you arriving in Florida?

We have a really good (and fun) group here. I don't want to pry, and I don't want to appear insensitive, so please feel free to share as much or as little as you would like about your sons illness. :flower3: :flower3: :flower3:

Sailaway February 2007

The ejkj family was there that day as well!! I remember it was a bit chilli ..but that didin't last long....Can't wait till we are at the sail away party again, for those of you first time Disney Cruisers...The sail away party REALLY is a GREAT WAY to get the PARTY STARTED (that's one of the songs they sing)!!! It really is alot of fun...alot of people as well. But it dosen't get in the way of the fun & excitment, we found that we like being on the top deck over looking the party, rather then in the middle of it all, but I think that no matter where you stand you are going to have FUN!!!!

Great Photo!!!! Norm & Kim

Fieste...Love your pictures as well...keep them coming! I will try, or should I say, I will have Emily try to post a pic today...she is home sick today:sick: , last week a bug started going around the schools, so I guess we were doomed... Better now than you know when  !!!!

Speaking of which, do any of you get the flu shots???? I had never none it before, but decided the last two years before our MArch trips that we needed to do so...so we now( about this time) take a family outing to the family doc for our flu shots...needless to say, I am not very popular w/ my family on that day LOL!!!!!

Adding LUCK AND PIXIEDUST for Micday today, with her mean boss!!!!!

Hi again new friends!
We're in a category 9 on the second floor and have late seating for dinner. The MAW folks are trying to change that for us because I can't drag Ryan to a dinner that late at night. He's a night owl, but gets really cranky and ornery. We arrive in Florida until the morning of the cruise.

Feist, about my profile...I wondered if anyone looked at those. My husband is 6'6 and my son, at 4 years, is only 35 inches and 30 pounds (he still wears 2T clothing but it saves a lot of money on clothes). He's incredibly petite so people assume he's younger and that he's actually really tall for his age based on my husband's height. It's funny because people often say "wow, you're going to be tall just like daddy" when he's only in the fifth percent of height for his age.

Ryan has a heart defect called hypoplastic left heart syndrome. People should have 4 chambers in their heart, he has 2. So he had a series of open heart surgeries when he was younger to allow the one half to do all the work. It's why he so small and also causes reflux, so he has eating problems. But he's doing very well. We're very lucky that he's on track developmentally and hasn't had a lot of the complications that many kids have.

If you can't get this switched (a lot of people are actually able to do it onboard so don't stress too much) you could always do the late snack by the pools to fend off until dinner time. There are burgers, chicken tenders, pizza, sandwiches (wraps really) salads and piles of fruit available at the stands by the pools. My kids will be at the never ending self serve ice cream machine several times a day. Another option if your son ends up enjoying the clubs, the kids can go with the club to dinner. They go in a group to the buffet around 5:30. Ryan could pop in and go with them, and then still join you and dad for late dinner seating. This would however mean that he is missing your scheduled show time. If that's an issue there is usually a matinee showing as well that you could choose to go to.

:goodvibes :goodvibes I thought you were making a veiled Snow White reference! :goodvibes :goodvibes

Glad to hear he is doing well. You must have one smart kid to have picked a Disney Cruise for his wish!!!

Ryan actually first requested a boat, but he was talked out of it. As if we have a place for something like that :rotfl2:

And I forgot to mention, it's just the three of us. Husband Kirk, Ryan, and me (Holly).

Sounds like your son and my daughter have the same delusions of grandeur. Every year (for the last 3 years) on her Christmas list to Santa Grace asks for " A Mansion". She is 7 now, but it begs the question, how does a 5 year old even know what a mansion is?:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: Welcome Wish-Mom and family !!!!!!!!!!:dance3:

I'm so glad you decided to join our small but happy group !:grouphug:

would it surprise the board to find out that i shop for chanukah all year long, keep a spreadsheet of who gets what on each night and am usually done by august?

I thought not.....

Rani

No !!!!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Rani,

I've got to show James this. He thinks I'm over the top but you Rani
