02/01/2014 7-Night Western Caribbean - Fantasy

More Canadians hopping on board with you all.
We are Roxanne, Mike, Mikhaila (13 by sail date) and Dannan (9 by sail date). We are from Southern Alberta. This will be our 5th Disney cruise, all of our others have been on the Wonder. We just returned last Saturday from B2B's on the Wonder (9 days, Bahamas and W. Caribbean) and booked 2 dummy dates on board.
We LOVE the Wonder so much we had no intention of sailing the new ships for a while yet. Once we came home and really looked at itinerary/pricing/dates it seemed that a 7-day on the Fantasy made more sense, and there would be so many new things to do on board. We ended up on this sailing after a FB friend (that we met on our last MR cruise) mentioned that her family would be on this sailing. And we figured 'Why Not?" It's always nice to see familiar faces on board!! My only regret is that we won't get to see our many friends who work on the Wonder... good excuse to do the Panama Canal crossing I guess ;)

We have no plans to visit DW on this vacation. Harry Potter is a must for my DD13 so we'll spend a day there pre-cruise.

Finally another 13 year old girl!! Let me know if she's interested in getting to know our daughter prior via email or FB!

We just booked today and are so excited for our second Disney Cruise on the Fantasy. We would really like to participate in the Fish Extender so let us know how to sign up! Can't wait till February.
CanadianB:)

I think it is so funny how many Canadians there are on our cruise. And it is not a bad thing. I hope that a hockey game breaks out on the ship.

Another Canadian couple here! We are from Ont. Hubby is looking forward to watching the SuperBowl on the screen by the Mickey pool!

Our first cruise was on the Fantasy February 9 - 2013. Our FE groups was kept to 12 which was great as many packaged items are easy to find in sets of 12. Pinterest has some great ideas and we loved the "local" things people gave. We are:
Paul, Mary, Kaleigh (11) and Ashlyn (8)
No room number yet just 7A
No allergies:cool1:
We love all disney characters!

We will be escaping the cold and the snow from Riverview, NB Canada

Hello fellow Canuck! How did you book GTY this far out? I'd totally do that if it meant saving $.

Grr. Forgot this cruise was over Superbowl! Not football fans in this household. Our very first cruise left on Superbowl Sunday. Safety drill and sail away party were postponed (!!) until the next day when we were in the middle of the ocean. It was dumb. Hopefully the Fantasy has LOTS of other activities going on at the same time!

GTY and the restricted *GT are different things.

Please explain :) We've only booked the regular, pick a cabin when you put a deposit down way. :)

GTY--you pick the category, DCL picks the room...often in a higher category than you chose :) but never lower.

IGT, OGT, VGT (inside, outside, verandah)--these rates usually become available after the paid in full date to fill up the ship. These have lots of restrictions and must be paid in full at time of booking and you will get I/O/V and have no say in where you are...no upgrade from O to V, etc. You can get the crappiest room and too bad, you're stuck with it.

Not sure how we got a GTY room. We were 7170 last time and loved the location so we wanted something similar. :)

If you already picked your room then you're not GTY :)

We are GTY and are hoping to be around our last room. Really liked being in the back and the elevators were not as busy.

Gotcha!! Read that last post wrong...thought you meant that's the room you do have! Duh me!

Since we sail on Saturday, the safety drill and sail away won't be affected, and there are plenty of other things going on around the ship that day.

Have you ever cruised on Superbowl? Top decks are completely insane with noise! Thank goodness the Fantasy is a big ship... Lots of places to go :)

I am so excited for this very reason. Lets go EAGLES!!!

This is definitely a case of different strokes for different folks!! My family will be as far away from the game as possible. Judging from how crowded the decks got on our last cruise/Superbowl combo we might be the only ones running away from it! Though if it was hockey, my husband would be right in the thick of things!
:woohoo:
