01/04/05 4 Day Magic Roll Call

Hi everyone.

We just put a hold on this cruise. It would be DH, me, DD who will be 7.5 and DS who will be 3.5 at the time of cruising. We were booked on the 10 night 12/18 cruise on the Magic but we had to cancel yesterday due to DH work schedule. The 1/4 works better for him. DD will miss 4 days of second grade. We put a hold on a cat 8 on deck 7 forward. We stayed in that area last August on the 4 night Wonder in a cat 10 and liked it very much. We could go with a balcony for $250.00 to $300.00 more after the TA discount but we will not be in the room that much with the children so I think we will pass on the Balcony. It was very hard to let go of that 10 night cruise and all the wonderful people I would have met from the DIS but work comes first. We all still will keep in touch which is so nice. DH owns his own contracting company and he is on a large job at the moment which will go through the holidays. It would be to long of time for him to be away. I hope there are children booked on this cruise as it is after the winter break up north. We will be flying in on New Years day as DH would be off on that day so it gives us time to do WDW for 2 days. Looking into airline tickets. We are flying on Delta Song from NY. I also want to leave a day or two before the cruise as I worry about snow storms. We got stuck in one going to St. Marteen two years ago and I never want to go through that again. The children are so excitied to go. Looking forwrd to meeting you all.

Andy, I have heard your name several times on the DIS-all nice stuff. I look forward to meeting you and your wife.

Thanks Robin. I just got the ok from DH to change the airline tickets and put a deposit on the Cruise. We will be joining you all for sure. We are looking forward to it. Can't wait to sail on the Magic!!!!!!!!!!!! Gail

Happy Friday everyone. I will be in chat tonight if anyone of you want to join us. It is nice to chat with the DCL cruisers and I would love to chat with you all. TTYL-Gail

Hi Gail, I'm glad you could join us. No kids for us this trip, just a mom and dad cruise. We're also coming from the Northeast and we'll be flying in the night before. The past few winters have been pretty mild at that time of year, but you never know.

Hey everyone, the trip counters are looking pretty good. Only one problem, that means the final balances are going to be due very soon. :faint:

Luckily, I paid our cruise in full when I made the ressie the other week. Since it is just DW and I sailing, we already have enough Disney Reward Dollars to cover our tips.

Hi everyone. We actually have a very small balance to pay as we had $1000.00 on the other sailing that will go toward this sailing. We are flying in on 12/31. The ticket change fee on Delta Song was only $25.00pp. Our tickets were only a few dollars more than what we had originally paid. We own two weeks of Marriott timeshares so I just moved one of the weeks that we had booked from the other sailing from mid December to the end of December. We will be staying at the Marriott Grand Vista near Sea World for 4 nights. We got a two bedroom with a lock off for one of the bedrooms as the in laws will be coming up for 2 nights to stay with us.
We have MVMCP tickets to get rid of. The date is for Friday 12/17. We have 4 adult tickets and one child ticket. I guess I could try posting them on E Bay?? I would like to post them on the boads but I do not want to get in trouble. They are non refundable. Next time I will not buy in advance. Any other suggestions how I can sell them??

We are in a Cat 8- room 7504. Out TA quoted us $328.00 more for a Cat 5 and $270.00 for a GTR cat 6. I was back and forth if it would be worth it to spend the extra $$ as we will have the children with us and we will not be in the room that much. What do you all think?? I know the only difference in size between the Cat.'s is the balcony. I am so confused on if I should spend the extra $$$ that can go to a shore excursion.

Our children loved the children's program on Carnival this summer. We took them on a 4 night cruise out of NY to Canada. They are going to have a blast in Disney's program and we will have some time for ourselves. I really look forward to a few hours on the Adult only beach and a massage in the cabanna.

Andy, you have a great website. I enjoyed looking at it.
I also checked out Dave's website.

Hope to see you all in the chat room tonight.

Oh I wanted to mention that I was on DCL site today and rooms opened up on the 1/2 sailing. They are a lot more $$ than our sailing. Our Cat 8 even with a TA discount would be about $550.00 more. I guess final paymnet was due today. Gail

Good morning everyone. Sunny and beautiful day on Long Island, NY today. We are going out east today to enjoy the day.
Have a great day everyone. Where are all the cruisers sailing with us??? This sailing is almost sold out. Gail::MinnieMo ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo ::MickeyMo

:wave2: I'm around.

It was Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada. We were away for a night, camping with some friends. Yesterday we had Thanksgiving dinner at my parent's house and today I have been doing as little as I can get away with :teeth:

We generally will book a Category 11 room because we find that we don't spend time in our cabin except to change and sleep. We have been upgraded a couple of times though, once to a cat 8 and once to a cat 9 and once to a cat 10. Maybe we will get an upgrade again this time :D , that would be nice.

Hi Robin.
How do you get upgraded?? Does it happen at the port??
We wanted to book a Cat. 10 but there were none left. I was lucky when I called that they had someone cancel a cat. 8 on deck 7 and I grabbed it. I would of taken one on deck 5 as well.
When we were booked on the 10 night Magic we had a SPH room on deck 5. That would of been nice if I could of gotton that again.

Hi Gail:

We have always gotten our upgrades when they send us our documents.

Last time we did get an upgrade from Cat 11 to Cat 9 because someone had been smoking in our Cat 11 room and when we first went in it really, really smelled bad, even the room steward agreed with us. He said he had tried to get the smell out but couldn't do it.

They upgraded us and our friends who were in the cabin right next to us to Cat 9 porthole rooms on Deck 2. We were on the Wonder and ended up just under the hall way entrance to Wave Bands. We could hear the bass of the music in Wave Bands but it didn't really bother us since we were out most nights until after midnight anways and were part of the noise going on at Wave Bands :teeth:

Robin, does your TA request an upgrade or do you request the upgrade to be noted on your reservaton ??? They just automatically upgrade you without notification??? Just curious. Thanks Gail

I believe they have always just upgraded us without notice.

I don't think the travel agent has ever requested it or made any notes on our reservations.

Usually when we book our cruise the travel agent tells us our cabin number right away. When the documents come with a different cabin number on it, then we know we are upgraded. I do believe that it is possible that they will upgrade you at the last minute and that you find out at the port. But that has never happened to us.

 Hello all,

Only 84 days to go :teeth:

We have "main" on our dining request on our confirmation form - what does that mean?

Thankyou and greetings to all new passengers!

Julie.
