~ºoº November 27, 2010- Western Magic! ºoº~

Wowsa! Sounds like Friday couldn't get over soon enough for several of us!

Congrats to everyone who has received documents, FEs, gifts, cameras, etc. It really makes it seem like the cruise is just around the corner...oh wait! It is!

For those of you still waiting, pixie dust for weekend deliveries!

My (very inexpensive) waterproof camera arrived at Best Buy yesterday. I picked it up and tried it out last night. Let's just say a mixing bowl of water with an object dropped in it is not the best gauge for how well this camera will work. :rotfl: Guess I will have to hit the pool or the beach this weekend. Also, one of my FE goodies arrived today! Other than putting the bags together, I'm ready to go with these now. Now, I'm just waiting on my FE, which I do not expect until just prior to sailing since I just ordered it (talk about last minute!). (Pixie dust to myself for patience.)

Have a great weekend everyone! Good Luck to the football team, Darcy!

Rum runners are basically plastic liners that hold any non-carbonated beverage. I love Patron and don't want to have to pay a kings ransom on the ship to have a shot when I want it. They have all different sizes of bags depending upon your need.

I'm at home on a Friday night working on paperwork to make my day go faster tomorrow. Its the last day of soccer and there will be a HUGE snoopy dance when the day is done and I turn in my last payroll for the season and year. Yippee.

I will check in later. Have a great evening.

:banana::banana:

And now for more fun (and planning!)....

I was just accepted to host a Wii "Just Dance 2" House party to test out the new game that is coming out! It will be on November 20 (just one short week before we sail!)....they will send us the game for everyone to play.

WOO HOO! :dance3:

That sounds like loads of fun! That will help eat up the time before we go! :dance3:

Good Afternoon:

It's been Christmas at my office this afternoon when the mail man came. Got my camera, wristlet for my camera, FE and my rum rummer. My boss came in with his arms full of boxes.

I'm so excited. Now only a few more things and a few more days and I'm ready to go.

YAH WHO.

TTYL.

:banana::banana:

Wahoo!!! It's so much fun when stuff you order for a cruise starts showing up!

no documents and no room assignment yet for me. getting impatient!

Me either. Sorry, but they are going to assign us very very last. :(

They are just waiting to give you guys the BEST rooms on the ship.... :goodvibes

I agree, best room! :thumbsup2

I have a room assignment, we booked this cruise last year while onboard...but still NO DOCS!!! I'm starting to get paranoid......:scared1:

happy Saturday, everyone! I know it was a rough week for a lot of us!
We are at 38 degrees this morning....a big change and our lowest temp so far!
Hope everyone has a great day today!!!

Darcy - Good luck to your DS and his football team! Have fun at the tailgate! I think that’s the best part :)

Tonya - glad you received all your deliveries. The rum runner is the most important item IMHO.

Cindy - have fun with your new camera this weekend!

I hope everyone waiting for documents and room assignments gets them soon!!

I’m so glad it’s the weekend! DH had a poker night fund raiser last night (men only). I came home had a couple glasses of wine and went to bed by 8:30. I slept until 9:00 am!! I feel much better today.

DD has her last outdoor soccer tournament this weekend. She’s having a sleepover tonight. DH and I have a Halloween party to attend down the street. My mom will watch DD and friends - I’m sure lots of pre-teen giggling and drama.

All for now!

Gailyn

We are bummed....our Colts lost today. Good game, but bad reffing. sigh.

DS caught a TD and had some great defensive flag pulling though.

Oh well...at least now my weekday nights are free - no more practices until basketball starts in JANUARY! Maybe I can get my FE gifts done!

Oh bummer, Darcy. But it sounds like your DS had a great game...congrats!

I took a drive down to St. Augustine this morning (only Eddie Bauer remaining in our area, in the outlet mall...and considering DH is 6'7" and EB is one of the only stores that carries tall...not big, but tall...clothes, I typically shop there for him). So, as I'm driving it hits me we will be taking that route in just under four weeks for our DISNEY CRUISE!

While I was out that way, I decided to run over to Character Premiere in the other St. Aug outlet mall. They had one of the t-shirts I have had my eye on at WDW on the past three or so visits...marked down to 7.99. Yes!!! Another item to add to the packing list. ;)

Hope everyone has a good weekend! Don't eat too much candy!

Darcy,
Have you hosted a House Party before? We hosted a Clone Wars House Party in September and it was REALLY fun.

For those of you not familiar, google House Party and sign up. It's free and when you meet the demographics a company is looking for, they give you a bunch of stuff to promote their product.

Head in a Post-Halloween-Party-Can't-Sleep Fog Question: Will our cruise be entirely in the Eastern Time Zone? (Yes, it is 5 am here.)

no, I believe we change twice if I am remembering correctly. I know at least once. Not enough to cause any real problem since we change back right away.

I have a few friends coming over tonight for Halloween. They don't have kids and live in the country so don't get trick-or-treaters, so they asked to come over and hand out candy at my house.
Upside: I've outsourced a part of Halloween.
Downside: My house is clean EXCEPT my dining room table covered in FE stuff. Do I clean? Do I make them stand at my island to eat my soup tonight? Will they understand my insanity?
Decisions, decisions! :confused3:rotfl:

I say eat around the island!! ;)

Maybe in between handing out candy, they can help you finish your FE's?

You might even create a couple of converts who will want to join you on your next cruise! :rotfl: We've cruised both just as a family AND with friends. Definitely more fun to have friends join you. Although I'd never turn down a family-only trip, either. :lmao:

Don't let the fact that they have no kids dissuade them - some of our friends without kids are the ones who have enjoyed the cruise the most! Although it is hard to convince some to give it a shot.

Nope - never had a House Party before, and have only applied to 2 others that I wasn't chosen for (Disney Cruise and can't recall the other). REALLY wanted the DCL one. This one popped up in my email so I said why not, and then we were chosen! Don't th ink DH is that thrilled, but oh well. It will be a blast and we get a new Wii game, so all is good.

Bad side? I have to make sure the house is clean (similar to your issues for tonight) and DCL-free! I usually have the dining room as my staging area for packing, and one week out, it would be full, but apparently tha twon't happen this year! Not sure how many people will come between adults and kids, but we invited 11 families with anywhere from 1 - 3 kids in a family :scared1:

Perhaps this is why DH isn't thrileed. :confused3

Any tips on hosting the party or just wing it and have fun?

Well, you see my dilemma is kind of the same. Due to the small size of our house and areas other than where the Wii will be for food and stuff, the dining room will probably have all the food/beverages. However...you only have a few friends over, I'm sure they will understand the FE station (and as someone else said, maybe they will help!).

Happy Halloween to everyone....I am trying to get motivated to go out and get pumpkins (yep, last minute over here) so I can clean/carve and roast seeds all today...

Oh, and of course there is the :laundy:, and all the other Sunday things that happen here (including trying not to stress about the upcoming week at work). :scared:

 the 'outsourcing Halloween!" I agree, around the Island is great! Someone is bound to have to jump up and down to answer the door anyway! And I also say that cruising Disney sans kidlets is wonderful too! We always have a blast!:goodvibes

We have the kids bringing the grands over for Trick-or-treating....DGD is almost 4 and very excited, she's Tinkerbell while her 18 m/o brother is Capt. Hook! He just likes his hat....:rotfl:
DS2 is bringing the baby who will be dressed as a monkey while DS is trying to find a banana costume to wear. They are going to help give out candy to the trick-or-treaters. However, my FE station is the breakfast table, which we are using for dinner tonight, so I have to clean it off. :scared:

Happy Halloween, everybody....and BOOO to you!

Darcy - I am right there with you. We got our pumpkin last night. Will need to carve, clean and roast the seeds today in between all the other “Sunday” stuff!! We were very last minute this year!:)

So sorry about the Colts. But your son had a good game and best of all, the season is over.

I think the house party sounds fun. A little stressful due to the timing, but it will all work out.

Lisa - I agree, eat at the island. Leave the FE stuff in the DR. Maybe your friends will help:worship:

Happy Halloween everyone!! Off to the store.

Gailyn

Just wondering if anyone here has either heard of or used phonezoo.com ?

I stumbled upon it thanks to another board here on the DIS.

It has the DCL horn, Wishes music and more.

Guess I'll have to get some of them soon. Ok. So, like right now, maybe? :lmao:

I assume they're free. But has anyone ever heard of any problems with them - like your number ends up on some list somewhere ... :confused3

Have any of you started putting out your Christmas decorations yet? :santa:

So far, we have 2 trees up! :lmao:

My friends think I've completely gone round-the-bend, but as we always travel this time of year, the Christmas decor goes up EARLY. We once made the mistake of getting home Dec. 15 or later and then having to hastily get the tree together, plus the Christmas letter, wrapping, baking, cards, etc. That was NO fun! So, now the trees go up in late October - as the next few weeks will just get more and more crazier (experience tells me). :rotfl:

I am also hosting a "Christmas Swap" this year (for the first time) before our cruise - where people bring Christmas decorations that they've grown tired of and swap them for things other friends no longer want and have brought to the party to swap. So, the trees had to be up in time for that.

I've got 2 Christmas trees up, oodles of stuff ready for the cruise, and yet no Halloween candy for tonight. What's wrong with this picture? :lmao: Actually wasn't planning on being home tonight, but since it's so cold, I think I will send my DH and kids to the (outdoor) party later and I'll just stay here where it's warm. ;)

ohh, a Christmas swap sounds like a lot of fun!!! I haven't put anything up yet, but Sulley has been warned. We usually travel a week later than this cruise, and Christmas goes up the weekend after Thanksgiving....but this year I will be earlier. I don't want to come home on the 12th and try to rush getting the house ready. It usually takes me a week at least to get things the way I want them! So I'm giving November a week, and stuff will start making an appearance shortly after. No lights will be turned on, however!
