~ºoº November 27, 2010- Western Magic! ºoº~

What do you mean the values are $141 a night? At Disney? We are coming in late on Friday (or that is my plan), so staying at the Hyatt at the airport is just convenient....I just don't want to chance flying in the day of the cruise in case of bad weather between CT and FL.

Pop right now is showing me $141... :surfweb: AS Sports, AS Music (and they have family suites avail too), AS Movies...

We were thinking about coming in Friday afternoon... so we have the time to get to WDW, just :confused3 We have never stayed in a value, so to try it a night is actually really appealling- and might save us a bit too. ;) My son is a Toy Stroy freak- so to stay in Movies' Toy Story building will be such a thrill for him!

Sorry that I didn't get back about the Hyatt Certificate. I just got back on the DIS tonight. Thanks for the information!

We have done priceline twice before to get the Hyatt but we don't want to risk having to take a shuttle with our 1 year old and 4 year old. Sometimes we just pay for the convenience.

We will be flying in Friday afternoon. The Hyatt was a great choice for us on our last vacation. My husband checked in on-line at home before we left for the airport and when we arrived he just got his key. We then went right to our room. The great thing about the Hyatt is the convenience. It is also very quiet. The rooms are tucked back away from the busy part of the airport but you still have places to eat.

We have looked at excursions. I think we are booking them on our own as we can save a lot of money that way. And if for some reason we don't make port, our travel insurance kicks in.
Key West--Shipwreck and Pirate Museum
Cozumel--Dolphin Encounter at Chankanaab
Grand Cayman--Boatswain's Adventure Marine Park

We were looking at the Dolphin Discovery in Grand Cayman, Key West we were going to rome around on our own, and we are torn on what to do in Cozumel. Xcaret looks amazing- just $$ and far away. :surfweb:

Is anyone else stuck in the crazy snow of DC. we are in the burbs here and can't wait to get ride of this 40" of snow and get on this cruise already.

It just started snowing here in CT...kids are off from school for the impending Nor'easater which is expected to give us 10 - 14" of snow today and into tomorrow...

Dreaming of being back on the cruise right now...

Love going this time of year but always have that fear that the weather will mess up the flights! So far we've been pretty lucky over the years, only one hiccup. :thumbsup2 This sure has been a crazy winter.

We aren't in DC but Dallas. We have had the most snowfall ever here (over 9 inches). It was so beautiful and it was nice because the roads were not bad. I will be looking forward to the warmth of the cruise in November though!

Hi,

Excited about this cruise, our 3rd ever and second Disney. We sailed on 4 night Wonder Cruise Thanksgiving last year. My DS was 12 at time and will be 13 this trip, fell in love with cruising (his first). We barely saw him, he loved the kids club so much.

This cruise will be myself, DH, and DS. We are excited as we have never been to Cozumel, Key West, or Grand Cayman. I am wanting to let DS swim with dolphins and trying to decide which excursion. Any advice?

We are so excited, and please too see Magic will be dry docked shortly before cruise which means super clean if not more.

Glad to meet everyone here!

Anyone have any insight into the 11-13 year old group? Son was looking forward to the teen group but appears on Magic he will back to a lower age group.

:dance3:

Welcome alady89!

We have a kind of quiet group here (but it is still far away), but if you want to join our FE group, please send me a PM with all your details.

Room #
Last Name (The XXX Family)
Email Address
Names of people in party
DD/DS and ages for kids with their names
Celebrating anything?

I am creating the master list and then will email out to everyone who has signed up by the deadline (about a month before we sail).

I don't have teens, I have a DD and DS that will be almost 9 when we sail...

Hi! DH and I are booked on this cruise as well! It will be our 6th DCL cruise, and our second Western Caribbean cruise! We will be celebrating our 32nd wedding anniversary  with this cruise, then we will be joining our children and grandchildren for a week in WDW! (thank goodness for DVC! ;) )

Our greatest joy is lounging poolside with a good book!

we will be staying at the Hyatt at MCO the night before the cruise as we are taking a late flight in.

I've never done FEs and not sure I understand, though I have seen them on our previous cruises....I'd be interested in learning more!

Glad to have you along! This will be our 2nd western with our 2 DS's. Our 1st was Jan 09. The boys will be 13 and 15 this time around. They loved Ocean Quest, but we'll have to see how this goes as our oldest will be able to venture towards The Stack. A friend of ours will be traveling with us and she has a 12 yo boy as well, so no shortage of pirates on this cruise! pirate:

Welcome to our meet thread and congratulations on your anniversary!

The FE is a gift exchange between the staterooms that sign up on our cruise. You make a Fish Extender (or buy one or use a stocking or something to hang on the fish outside your cabin). I am creating the list of rooms and who is in them. You then leave a gift in each FE on whatever day/night of the cruise you choose.

There are lots of threads about gifts that people have made or given, and about making an FE itself. I am not that crafty, so I used a Christmas stocking on our last cruise (in December) and may use that again for this one.

Some people leave one gift per stateroom, others leave things for the kids and adults separately, or a combo. It's all up to you. We received so many nice gifts from our cruise, I really enjoyed getting things that were from where everyone lived (ornaments or magnets, etc). It was just a blast to come back to the room to find little treats for us at our door.

I am checking in as well.

We (myself, DW,DS5) booked this cruise last April when we were on the first Tortola cruise. Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Chris

DLW8 - i tried to send you a message, but since I recently joined, it says I can't send you a message yet. When do you put together the list? We took our first Disney cruise in January, and the kids thought it was great seeing all the fish hangers around and wanted to make sure we participated this time. thanks,

thanks for the welcome, I look forward to learning more. I'm still 'earning my ears' here, so please bear with me! :earsgirl:

I can't send private messages either.

Don't worry- you have plenty of time, we won't make the list final until about a month before we sail, that gives you many months of posting to get enough to send a PM. :cool1:

If folks are not prone to sewing or making their own fish extenders there is a woman named Tiffany that has the username gradysmommy on eBay that does an incredible job. Here is ours.
