I saw her last year. She did the sign language while a friend (Jack?) read the narration at a podium off to the side (he's on the bottom right of the castmember green section). Here's a picture:

Hi, DebbieB. Can I put your picture on the front post of this thread? I haven't found any pictures to of the CP to post.

Sincerely, Ray

How exciting! So again, for the second year, we know the narrators before the packages go on sale. That's great!

I now have to move my schedule around to avoid Phil Donahue! :earseek:

I will shoot for Thursday to see Haley Joel Osment instead! :goodvibes

I was thinking the exact same thing when I saw the schedule. Since I've never been to CP I was wondering if there was any reason you're avoiding Phil (mine is he's old and a talk show host and Haley is HOT :rotfl:). Not good or informed reasons so curious on your thoughts.

Thanks, Calie

Sure, go ahead. By the way, this picture was taken from a standby seat on Thursday, Dec 9 2004. Shows that you really don't need the package on weeknights early in the season to get a good seat. I don't think we got in line more than 30 minutes before. We thought our seats were better this night than when we saw Jim Caviezel on Sunday night with the package when we were in the front section but off to the left.

Haley Joel Osment sounds familiar, could someone tell me a little about this guy? Thank you.

Thank you, Debbie. I'll put a credit to you below the photo.

I have done the same thing when I do standby. I watch the 6:00 P.M. Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony and then try to take a boat launch to Germany and then head to the standby line, with usually only 10 minutes before the start of the show.

But I am prepared that I may not get in because of a large crowd and being so late to get in line.

Sincerely, Ray

We (DH and I) just don't like him and if I have the choice between him and Haley, I'm gonna pick Haley!!

Haley is from "The Sixth Sense"...."I see dead people"...

How do you coordinate your advance dining times and the times for the show?
Are you able to see the show first and then eat? Vice Versa?

When you make the package reservation, they will coordinate your times. You can eat either before or after the show. You tell them the restaurant and they will tell you what dinner times are available with the show you want to see.

We liked to do the 6:45 show with dinner at 8:00-8:15. We've also done dinner before the show but prefer after because we stay at BWV and can take our leftovers back to the room, plus you don't have to worry about rushing through your dinner if you are seated late.

Yes, you can eat first and then do the show or do the show and then eat.

We will get to see Jim Caviezel

Ooooh, we loved Jim Caviezel last year! He was amazing. Looks like my family will be seeing Haley Joel Osment.

Wow thanks for the info. This will be our lst trip at this time of the year. My dh conference at the swan ends dec. 1st so he will be able to start spending the real vacation with us starting this night and I think my 3 ds would like Haley Jo. Also I was thinking of Germany and its the cheapest, so I am thinking of seeing the show lst at 5 and then eat. I dont like it cold out, so that should take care of that problem. It looks like a wonderful program.

I should add that does any one know where the narrarators stay. I think it would be awesome if my ds ran into Haley Jo at the Hotel.

I'm disappointed that our favorite James Avery is not there again this year. We saw him 2 or 3 times, we loved him.
Jack Jason is the certified sign language interpreter that Marlee Matlin always works with. I am sure they are friends at this point but he is not just a friend.

I just called to see if there was a reason the buffets were so much more then the regular price meal. Dessert/Drinks etc to make up the differance was told you pay the extra upto $10 for concievance(sp?) of seating. So told DH I wasn't doing that going back to Rose & Crown now. Dining CM said the CP dining package goes on sale Aug 12. I don't know but that 2 days might make a differance. So here's the game plan now.
6:00 Tree Lighting
6:45 CP Show
7:45-8:00 R&C Dinner (Patio please pretty pretty please)
9:30 Illumations(sp?)
Looking at my dining plans I'm planning another night in EPCOT so if I don't see Illumations on DEC 1 I'll see it then.
Where is the tree lighting?? Easy walk to show??
Thanks again

Hmmm. Okay, so we were going to go to Epcot on 12/6, but I'd love to hear Jim Caviezel. If we change to Thursday, 12/8, would doing the
6:45pm show and eating at Rose & Crown after, would be have a pretty good shot of waiting until seat was available outside to watch fireworks? Assuming they would be about 9:00pm. Show would end about 7:30pm, we'd get to restaurant about 7:45pm and could wait around for an hour or so, for a seat outside. We'll have two boys, 6 and 4 years old. Please give me your opinions. DH and I were at Epcot in July 1992, but that's it, so it's all new to us.

During my time at Disney, the narrators will be Harry Hamlin, Marlee Matlin and Gary Sinise. For those who have seen any of these three, how was it? Which would you choose? And does Marlee Matlin do the narration in sign language? Does she speak or does someone else speak (sorry, I just don't know).
Marlee Matlin signs the narration and her interpreter Jack Jason voices for her. And another interpreter interprets the music.

Who is Haley Joel Osment? Am I a geek for not knowing this? What can you eat with a dining package? Same choices as Dining plan (App, Meal, Dessert) ?

I just used that reference because I believe that night she introduced him as "her friend", they didn't mention his credentials. I also loved watching the woman who interpreted the music.

Hi, nasmith. I have been trying to think of the name of that event for weeks..."Media Event".

That darn Media Event.

To answer your question directly, no I don't know when the media event will be held, but I wish that I did.

Every year, I remember everyone talking about media event at Epcot, or MK or MGM, etc.

One way I can probalby tell is last year the 5:00 P.M. CP on Sunday, December 5, 2004 was not available to the general public.

If you look in the times link below at the 2004 CP, you will see that there was not a 5:00 P.M. CP show because it was a media event. I think that they have even changed other events at MK, and MGM, too.

I don't think that Sunday is a media event. I forget the actual name of it, but it is for local "do-gooders" that Disney rewards/recognizes with a thank you of having a show just for them.

mcbj:
Haley Joel Osment is the kid (well, he's probably not a kid anymore...) who was nominated for an Oscar for his turn in The Sixth Sense. Don't know if he still sees dead people.
I'm excited though. We'll have Cicely Tyson, Jesus and Catwoman to choose from!!! :maleficen :maleficen :maleficen
VERY cool.
Cheers,
