Disney Magic 2011 Schedule

Departing out of Barcelona, the Disney Magic will sail 10- and 11-night Mediterranean itineraries for the 2011 summer season - a total of 10 sailings starting on May 28. Once again, guests will be able to explore the culture and beauty of Italy, France and Spain, with a family-friendly experience only Disney can deliver. This itinerary also includes visits to Tunis in northern Africa, the island nation of Malta, and Ajaccio, Corsica, an island oasis off the southern coast of France.

Rates for the 10- and 11-night Mediterranean cruises start at $1,739 per person for a standard inside stateroom, based on double occupancy.

For the majority of 2011, the Disney Magic will sail out of Port Canaveral on seven-night Caribbean itineraries - alternating eastern (St. Maarten and St. Thomas) and western (Key West, Grand Cayman and Cozumel). Both itineraries include a stop at Disney's private island, Castaway Cay.

Count me in on the disappointment. Followed the thread since it started...was hoping for Hawaii or something other than Alaska for my 35th birthday celebration in 2011.

Will have to go to plan b and sail the Oasis. I pretty much think that the Dream 3-5 day Bahamian cruises will be comparable to the Oasis so I'll give that a try. Plus you gotta love that zipline:thumbsup2

The DCL Houseparty returns this November!

I vote for a Washington/BC res discount. :rotfl2:

I have a question about booking now. If I book Alaska on 9/28 when the booking opens, could I cancel and re-book it and get the OBC and re-booking discount when I'm on the Magic in November (assuming it would be cheaper with the discount in November)?

Sure, but you run the risk of losing which ever category/cabin you booked and dinner seating.

Woo Hooo.....we get the Wonder in San Francisco for 2 days in May 2011.
LOL. I've been dreaming of seeing one of the DCL ships in SF.

I'm thinking we'll book the June 14 Alaska, with a possiblity of the Sept 20 Vancouver to LA repo.

Well, I am booking a TA for May and then Alaska in late July. Perfect beginning and end to my summer!:woohoo:

To prepare for the Alaska sailings, a brand-new venue called Outlook Cafe will be added to the Disney Wonder during dry dock in October. Located high atop deck 10, the 2,500-square-foot Outlook Cafe is a stylish retreat for guests to relax and enjoy a beverage or cocktail as they peer out through floor-to-ceiling, curved glass windows at breathtaking vistas. The design of Outlook Cafe is sophisticated with contemporary Art Deco inspiration. An elegant spiral staircase connects Outlook Cafe with the existing Cove Cafe one deck below. The 65-seat lounge has a granite-topped cocktail bar with comfortable seating throughout the space, all providing picture-perfect views of the surrounding landscapes.[/I]

I wonder if they are enclosing the Adult Pool with some sort of Atrium of sorts.

As long as you book directly through DCL on 9/28, they can just apply the onboard booking discount and credit. You don't have to cancel and rebook. You keep you cabin and your dining time. We've done this several times. If you later want to transfer it to a TA, you can.

How do you get a newsletter? I keep updating my CC profile but can't seem to get on the list.

Someone mentioned the possibility of seeing glaciers calve in Tracy Arm Fjord- I don't think the ship can get close enough there that you can see much.

We got fairly close in August - didn't see any calving. But, our waiter had video of it calving a few weeks before - so just depends. We got amazingly close to the waterfalls. Apparently, it was 108 feet depth only a few feet from the waterfall.

If I have an existing cruise for 2010 with a 10% discount and OBC, am I correct in thinking I have to call on Sept 28th to transfer my cruise to 2011 and get the discount too? I will not be able to do it on-line?

I don't know if I can trust a travel agent to be quick enough to do this for me.

HAHA, under "Travel Information" for Vancouver it says precipitation 2-3 inches yearly. They have never obviously come October-February!!!!!:lmao:

Actually they will just re-book what you have already with your 10% and OBC discount. If the price on the cruise has gone up, it will be 10% off that price. You have to hope the price doesn't go up.

Last January I booked a dummy cruise from home before sailing so I get the $25 OBC for booking online. Then on the ship I changed it over to the 10% and $200 OBC, but they said I still keep my $25 as well. I have since changed it to the date we can sail for sure and have $225 plus our 10% off.
I lucked out that the price hadn't changed!

And I am dreaming of being onboard!

I won't do the first Alaska itinerary, as it is too early to really be warm and it will be getting close to finals for my daughter.

However, I was looking at the northbound Repo. It'll be the first time a DCL ship has been in the SF Bay, and the first time in Vancouver so maybe we'll see something special. Furthermore, leaving Victoria at 6:30 the ship should be in Vancouver harbor by 9, unless they take a very indirect route. Hopefully we could be off the ship early enough to get my kids to school on time Tuesday.

LMAO so hard....didn't we get that 2 days ago in that storm?? lol

We sailed Tracy Arm in June. We got pretty close to Sawyer Glacier and saw lots of ice chunks in the water, but no calving. I think you need to take an excursion out of Juneau to get close enough to see calving. Here are a few pictures of Tracy Arm.

Who did you go with? We went with RCI and got closer than that at the beginning of August. I'm pretty sure we were up by that bit jutting out or around it. I know it depends on the ice conditions though. RCI had to do a few eariler sailings up Endicot as Tracy Arm was still blocked with ice.

Inches, meters - what's the difference?

I am in Anacortes today, less than 90 minutes from the border, and I can't believe we have a clear sunny day in mid September!
