There are so many great snacks in WDW!
In Epcot I love the pretzel from Germany, the crepes in France, and if we are there on the right day we try hit up the FREE wine tasting at Tuto Gusto wine cellar where they also give you complimentary cheeses to pair. This year my hubby and I made up our own food and wine fest and picked drinks and snacks at every pavilion to try I'm super excited for that. :cheer2:

In Magic Kingdom we have to hit up the Turkey leg (Which we share) a dole whip float and the corn dog nuggets at casey's corner cuz they are amazing to name just a few of our favorites there.

In Hollywood studios the carrot cake sandwich is our must try at the writers stop and in Animal Kingdom I must grab an egg roll. lol did I mention I like to eat at Disney World? lol:rotfl2:

What exactly is a Dole Whip? They seem to be all the rage!!!!

Question of the Day!

Are you into getting to the park of your choice at rope drop or are you into a vacation mentality and sleeping in? Do you utilize touring plans for the parks, or use a play it by ear style?

Dole Whip is pineapple (or there is orange as well) ice cream. You can get a float with pineapple juice...delish! There is normally quite a line for them in Adventureland at Aloha Isle near the Magic Carpets.

By nature I like to sleep in and stay late. However, I have a toddler now so we aim more for rope drop so we can take a break mid afternoon. (We have only actually made rope drop once...we do not move quickly in the morning no matter how early we're up!) We have a few pre-park opening breakfasts in August so hopefully we'll be able to make those times!

I don't have much experience here so I will say the frozen Mickey ice cream bars which I think you can get all over the resort, right?

Really looking forward to trying:
Butterfinger cupcake
jalapeno cream cheese pretzel
Mickey Icecream bar

(I don't think we snacked when I was a kid in Disney, I have no memory of snacks whatsoever, not that 28 years might dim my memory...)

Where so you find the Butterfinger cupcake? My DS would love that! ;)

The Mickey Ice Cream bar! And I'm excited to try the dole whip and the cinnamon roll from Gaston's!

You can also get them at Captain Cooks at the Poly. I plan on enjoying one on my resort day :)

I always get so excited for WDW snacks, and then in the heat of August, I am never hungry for one! There used to be this caramel popcorn at Sleepy Hollow that I loved. I think they still have something like it, but they changed the recipe or whatever it was about ten years ago. My DS16 loves the chocolate covered bananas. And we always pick up a few Mickey head rice krispy treats. A funnel cake in Epcot, and the boys get the chocolate from the UK shops before Illuminations while I walk to the Patisserie and get coffee. Reading these threads though, I am going to make a concerted effort to eat more snacks :lmao:.

No rope drop, although we do AM extra magic hours at AK.. We don't use a touring plan at all, never did.

I plan every vacation very specifically before we go, but then over the course of the week, things tend to go to the play it by ear vibe.

We used to hit RD daily. Now the boys are older and honestly, everyone is much more pleasant if we aren't up at the crack of dawn running, running, running. So the plan is to alternate early days with late days.

I do use Josh's site to pick which park which day that we start with. We then hop to a different park later. We may or may not take advantage of EMH - that's on a whim. And since we always get hoppers, we have no problem just picking up and going where the wind takes us.

I have ADRs for each day, some twice a day, but we won't hesitate to cancel if we are up for something different.

So I guess we start out all rigid and commando-like based on the appearance of our plans, but in reality it becomes a much more relaxed vacation.

This is a tough one I am thinking about doing rope drop on some mornings but getting is never easy at times. However I will be using a touring plan because it makes it a little easier, in theory

If we are there for rope drop, it'll be by accident! It's my first time going with my kids, so we will play it by ear. No touring plan for us! I do have what parks I want to visit what day, but we have park hopper so it can change if we feel like it.

We definitely try for rope drop as often as we possibly can until exhausted! I use Josh's site as well for planning which parks on which days, but as far as an actual touring plan, I just make sure we hit up the headliners first then the rest of the rides we just do what we feel like.

Has anyone else had trouble with ADR times not matching up? I made a reservation over the phone for CP at 5:15 on Aug 26. I went to change it to a later time. My MDE page shows 5:15, but when I clicked a different time the pop up says "You already have a reservation for 6:15, do you want to change it?". If I don't change it I don't want to show up an hour early!

No theme parks for us on this trip, just the waterparks, however.....

....we plan to be there for park opening at least once for each waterpark (BB & TL). We are purchasing annual waterpark passes for each of us, so for the remainder of our stay, we will come and go as we please. Having a teenager, we will enjoy a few days of sleeping in and hit the waterparks later in the day, staying until park close. We enjoy incorporating some relaxing into our getaways, so there is no way I would even attempt to force everyone up each morning of our trip.

Now, if I had small kids who were early risers........I would totally do rope drop daily!!! And be in bed by 9!! :rotfl:

This happened to me. I called and double checked it to make sure it was the right time and they told me it was. I think it's a glitch with MDE.:confused3
