we are going sept 18 to the 22 in a 2 bedroom at BLT we are just going up for MNSSHP and to relax at the pool and yes to eat:)

Can Universal STudios and Islands of Adventure both be done in the same day? My 7 year old dd (who will be almost 8 when we go) wants to go while in Florida. We're adding a day so we can do this ,but we'll only have one day.

We have done that and were able to do everything. We did this December 2011. We even didnt get to us till almost 11 and we walked over to iOa and stayed till close

I have a question for anyone who can answer. We will be planning a trip in Sept/2015 to celebrate my son's graduation. I usually go every other year with our most recent trip this past November. I have never been in September before so not sure what to expect as far as crowds, discount, weather and so on. I know that is hurricane season and they usually offer discounts such as room discounts or free dining but has anyone gone and the weather was horrible? When was the last hurricane down there. Is there a better week to go during Sept? I know it's early to start planning but I usually start about a year and a half in advanced.

Ok so I think I may be a bit crazy as I'm already trying to think of a costume for the MNSSHP. I think this may be due to the not so nice weather we are having. Is anyone else thinking about this or am I really the only one.

Also since our actual anniversary date will fall while we are there we would like to have a romantic dinner as it is our 10th wedding anniversary. I'm thinking California Grill or Jiko but not sure. Does anyone have any suggestions?

TIA :)

I have only gone once in September (2013) and we bounce back in 2014 for September as well. We had great weather in early September, but it was still very hot (90's each day). Rain and hurricanes were not an issue, and I hope it remains the same this year! (knock on wood)

Rates are reduced also because people with children (target demographic) are typically busy in school in September. We found crowds very nice - walk on or short waits everywhere. Things to plan around (either avoiding or accommodating, your choice): Epcot food and wine festival starts typically mid-late September and Magic Kingdom closes early many nights for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party (MNSSHP). Lots of other posts and info on those events to research on this and other websites.

There are typically a lot of conventions in September as well, to off-set the reduced family visits. That seemed to keep crowds at Downtown Disney pretty busy, about the most crowded place we were at the whole week. Just my observation only.

Finally, because it is a down season for Disney, some shows and attractions are closed or limited. It's hit and miss, but for awareness.

For my 2 cents, it was a fantastic time to visit.

I'm daydreaming of anything warmer than 10 degrees... you're not alone.

We enjoyed the Coral Reef in Epcot - had a table right up against the aquarium. Strongly suggest booking one meal there especially if you like seafood - but their fillet was outstanding too. If you're on property and staying in September you might get lucky with free dining offers later. I suggest making reservations for a few nights at different places when dates are available and cancel as your trip plans take shape.

Thank you for the suggestions. Coral Reef is actually my DH's favourite restaurant on property.

So two things that I did today: 1. Changed our Auto train date by one day (leaving VA on Sept 6 instead of Sept 7 ) and saved us 423.90:banana:
2. Changed from AKL- Savannah view to POR RR - Garden view AND added a day and saved $520.86!! Total savings today $940+:worship::cool1: Plus, we already have FD for our stay:thumbsup2

I just worked a 16 hour shift and I can't go to sleep because I'm watching a Disney video and I'm so excited about it! At least I have 3 days off and I'm child free this weekend!!!!

:offtopic: Does anyone know how to resize a photo for a new avatar? Trying to load a new one and it won't :confused3

Ok since it's Friday night and I have some time to relax/sit down, I thought I'd get on here and get some opinions from some more experienced Disney planners. What are your favorite tools to plan your vacation? So far I have the dates we are going, where we are staying booked, and paper/plastic tickets purchased and sitting in our safe.

What different websites/tools/etc are your favorites for making a Disney World plan. It will be three of us, two adults and an (at the time) four year old. We don't as of yet have any "must do's", but obviously we have quite a few months so that will change. I know I want to do MNSSHP and one character breakfast. That's all I know so far.

I use this website and also allears.net. Then I go back and forth between easywdw.com and touringplans.

Allears.net, touringplans.com, and disneyfoodblog.com is what I use and it works fantastically it has everything menus wait times and reviews so those are the best to go with in my opinion

Anyone know how accurate touring plans is? It has park recommendations for September, but not sure if I should go by that yet.

Man I am late to the party.... Didn't realize that the September 2014 page had been started.. I'm here now!! Going to POR September 27-Oct 4 Royal room. Celebrating our DD 5th birthday (did her older brother's back in 2010) Fist time I will be at a moderate resort, and only my second time staying on site. Planning on her birthday dinner at CRT, as well as a birthday trip to the BBB, and 100% doing MNSSHP. Hope free dining is available while we are there. We do a 24h straight drive to get there, coming from the Niagara Falls area in Canada. I CAN"T WAIT!!! I Love Disney. I was even bugging my kids when we were 365 days away saying "did you know at this time 1 year from now we will be in Disney!!" Booked the trip already back in the summer when 2014 rates came out. Can you tell I'm excited???:yay: At least I know everyone on the DIS would understand my obsession/excitement!!

So change in plans...we'll be there no from the Sept 28 - Oct 3 at POP. We're taking a bit of a detour on the way down ( a 3 days detour to DC to be exact :lmao:)
