You should try a solo trip; it is so unique and fun. Oh my little Stacey. Watching her is part of the experience I think. She needs to add "watching Stacey" to her "Must Do Disney."

Hahaha so glad to you to the "other side" Glenn. Yeah, I've been a busy Disney beaver, that's for sure. I wasn't sure about running 2 at the same time, but so far it's been doable. Day 3 – April 29, 2013 Part 3


Before I begin, I wanted to share the following photo sent to me by Brenda (emmysmommy) in honour of my "washroom experience".

This made me laugh so hard and will now, as suggested, be the mascot of this Trip Report.

I will call her Tammy.




After the tour had ended, I had to decide what I would do with the rest of my day.

OK, it didn’t take me too long to at least find a starting point…

In fact, when I went in to get my Fastpass, there was already one sitting there, so I didn’t even have to use my ticket.

This left me with the ability to get another one right away, so I hoofed it over to Tomorrowland and got this…

Two Fastpasses in hand, I had just under an hour to kill before the first would become useful.

So I spent some time with some ho’s… or more accurately… yo ho’s.

Which once again enforced…

It was actually after riding that I remembered the newly installed mermaids that I had wanted to see.
How did I miss it?

That would remain a mystery for the time being as it was getting close to my Splash Fastpass time.
Incidentally, try saying “Splash Fastpass” five times fast. It’s fun!

Gawd… Almost forgot about safety.

Definitely not a ride photo I would have gotten if it wasn’t essentially free.
Apparently I should have leaned right, not left.

I of course grabbed another Splash Fastpass (still fun to say) for later on before heading to the other side of the park.

Day 3 – April 29, 2013 Part 3 Cont.


After Splash, my Space Mountain Fastpass was in full effect, so back across the park I went.

I was doing a LOT of walking on this day.

Space was great and thankfully I was ready for the photo…

Space has the potential to provide some really funny photos just because, well, nothing has happened yet so most people are usually just sitting there picking their nose and what not.

Anyway…

I left here at this point looking for some refreshment and to take care of a little something that had eluded me on my trip in October.

This would involve making the “supreme sacrifice” of going into that New Fantasyland place.

Oh, the sacrifices I make.

I am really excited for the Mine Train to open because I think it’s going to be fantastic.
So I snagged some construction pics as I headed towards the entrance of New Fantasyland.

It actually looks a bit like Space Mountain with the lights on for those fortunate enough to have seen that via the Peoplemover.

It was upon entering New Fantasyland that I decided what I wanted to refresh myself with, snagging a couple pics on the way.

Look, one of the TWO NEW CASTLES!!

I had really loved the Butterbeer at Wizarding World, so I really wanted to try LeFou’s Brew

Be mindful of your screen as you lean in to try and take a sip…

You know what?

This is freakin’ awesome! Like nectar of the God's awesome!

If you like apple juice, I think you’ll LOVE this.

Get yours today… Or the next time you're in Magic Kingdom.

Now it was off to fulfill quest number two.

Back in October, I was fortunate enough to be among the very first to enter into and experience New Fantasyland.

I rode The Little Mermaid on its very first day of operation…

But made a HUGE error at the same time.

You see, one photo I have always wanted was with Ariel in her fin.

Little did I know at the time, but she was meeting… in her fin…
Just around the corner from where I stood at the entrance to Under the Sea.

When I realized this AFTER the trip, I was a little upset.

I mean, I wasn’t check into the nearest insane asylum, pick people off from the top of a bell tower, disgruntled postal worker, or “this guy” upset…

But I was upset nonetheless.

Now… finally… I would rectify this mistake

I asked if it was OK to take my LeFou’s Brew into the queue (it was A-OK),
So I joined the line to meet that elusive mermaid.

The wait time was somewhere in the 20-30 minute range, but I’m not completely sure.
I had no where to be anyway, and this was one of my priorities, so whatever.

Finally it was almost my turn.

One thing I really like about this meet, other than the setting, is that they only take 1 or 2 groups in at a time so you have a little interaction without a ton of people gawking at you.

When I entered, the handler noticed my shirt immediately and told me it was awesome.

I thanked her and she followed with,

“That’s right… there will be No Dancing… No Smiling… No Fun Whatsoever.”

My reply was simply,

“Wait… Am I at Universal??”

Then…She Lost It.

I mean, if she was enjoying a LeFou’s Brew, it would have been coming out her nose.

There is little more enjoyable than making a girl laugh until a frosty beverage flows from her nostrils,

But alas it was not to be as she sadly had no frosty beverage to flow.

With that, it was my turn to finally… finally… FINALLY meet the mermaid.

I can't believe someone abandoned a perfectly good Splash Fastpass (I confess to saying this out loud a few times as I read along, and you're right -- it IS fun!) Having Fastpasses for 2 mountains at the same time is some AWESOME pixie dust

I can't wait to try Lefou's brew, sounds so delicious! I loved the Butterbeer too, although I could never drink more than one cup of it in a trip probably. It was tasty and unique, but just toooooooo sweet for me..I actually kinda preferred pumpkin juice! Sounds like Lefou's might be a bit lighter tasting than the HP drinks though?

And I'm glad you finally got to meet the finned Ariel! Do you remember what you two chatted about?

Splash Mountain is my absolute favorite ride so I appreciate the virtual ride through! Great pics!!

Lefou's Brew is my everything. My mom and sister tried it before I did and they didn't like it, but I had to get one, and it was just...wow. Heaven in a golden goblet with a Belle sticker on the side.

Yeah, I agree that Mine Train is going to be great and will indeed have crazy lines. Hopefully FastPass will help with that. Of course it will probably be Fastpass+ and I don't have a good feeling for it yet.

I was absolutely in shock Suzi! But I certainly wasn't complaining. I made sure to look around to see if someone was coming back to get it.

Yup, having both Fastpasses simultaneously was seriously awesome!

I'm with you on the Butterbeer; Really tasty, but one is enough. LeFou's Brew is definitely lighter than Butterbeer and much less sweet. It's still sweet of course, just not as sweet as Butterbeer. I found it really refreshing.

I was pretty happy to FINALLY meet her as well. I honestly don't remember much of the specifics of our conversation. Certainly the standard "Where did you swim in from?", but I know we chatted about more than that. When it comes to face characters and being solo, I tend to try to move through quickly so as not to make them feel awkward, but she was truly delightful, that I remember.

It was wonderful. I had been waiting so long for it since they took her out of regular Fantasyland to start construction on NFL. There was no way I wasn't getting in that line.
