Your December trip plans sound amazing! We've never been at Christmas and are looking forward to it, hopefully in 2014. The DIS meets sound great as usual. I love the pictures from DL!

Yes I did watch the 20th anniversary episodes! They were so fun to watch, as I never watched Conan until he got on TBS, so it was fun to see him back in the day. I especially love the episodes where Triumph the Insult Comic Dog was in them :lmao:

Just in case you didn't see it on my TR, CONGRATULATIONS on your Thread of the Month badge! :dance3::dance3::dance3: That is so great! I bet you were shocked and then so happy when you saw that!

Your plans look great for December! That will be so fun. And thanks for sharing your pictures at Disneyland :)

I'm disappointed about missing you, too. We fly out on the day you arrive. I blame the 2013 bounce back offer for this fiasco! Why did they have to make the discount period so short. :crazy2:

I was thinking about bringing a second suitcase so I have room to pack the stuff I want to buy for Christmas presents. Do you just call for extra luggage tags?

Our MB's arrived last Friday. We had fun giving them a little customization of our own. We trimmed the bands and are reshaping them with rubber bands so that they fit the shape of our wrists better. ;)

I noticed that you are staying at one resort for the majority of your trip. BWV should be really nice. :)

Hi there lovegrumpy! Ha ha! I think they've had a lot of practice with that O. That is their thing on the ride photos. :)

Please say hi if you see us! :wave2:

Yes, we're super excited to see all the lights and decorations for the Holidays! And that's not even mentioning the parades and parties.

That would be so awesome to have you be a drunk li'l cucumber with us! Indeed! We start around noon so get crackin' on getting your plane ticket Dani!! :upsidedow

Oh my gosh!! You'll be there too - awesome! We have some overlapping FP+ with Rob as well so we may be at the same places at the same time. Please, please, please say hi if you see us! (Feel free to PM me as well if you want to compare plans.)

I'm glad you liked DL - at least well enough to return so soon. Early Jan is a great time to go with the light crowds.

Hi Pimama! Thank you for reading this one and the last one! We have just been very lucky and blessed. Seriously, I'm so glad that you are here. :goodvibes Thanks for joining!

Thank you. I'm grateful that we are able to make these memories together. We'll be able to reminisce for years to come.

Thanks Jennifer! I completely understand. I do rather think I want to retire some day so I have to pace myself with the Disney trips.

Ahhhh I can't wait. That holiday tag line sounds very familiar. It reminded me that I saw a new Holiday sign when exiting the parking structure at DL the other day:

Hi Sarah! Sounds like you've been there during the Holidays before. At least you'll be there next year. (Will they still have the holiday overlay when you are there in Jan?) I'm looking forward to experiencing it all myself.

Thanks! I think Em's a cutie too. She loves babies and they seem to love her. :goodvibes

Ha ha! Google Disney! Sounds great.

Argh! So many issues and we haven't even received our MBs yet. :rolleyes2 I hope it all goes well for you.

Silly Disney. If there are females traveling they should automatically send more than one. It will save them mailing costs in the end you know!

    Thank you so much Bob!

Thank you very much! We'll say hi if we see you guys. (I'm refreshing my old decrepit memory by going back to one of your TRs!) :thumbsup2

That was hilarious! Too bad, we have to spend the night in the suite!! :rotfl2:
Be sure and let me know when you start your TR. :) I would love to follow along.

Hi Sar (Sarah?) I'm so glad that you are here and joining! Welcome! :goodvibes

We will be there at the same time!! Have you been during the holidays? I'm definitely looking forward to that extra festive spirit of the season.

I'm sure in the years to come you will be building some great memories with your daughter. This is a great start while she is still young.

Thanks Camille! You are very sweet!

There's definitely more to stun and amaze at WDW but DL does a beautiful job during the holidays. Does Cinderella's castle have snow like at DL? I know they both have the lights.

Ah yes, I remember that you lived in OC.

I love how Em loves on babies.

    Thanks again!

I'm probably not going to win any awards for first TR! I haven't decided how I'll do that but I will be doing a joint DR so that will unfold as a group.

    Thanks!

Thank you Judy! We're pretty excited. This is a first for us. Definitely feeling blessed to do this during my favorite time of the year.

Hi Marissa! No worries. I'm just glad that you are hanging in there with this one!

Thanks Melissa! It will be pretty exciting to see the parks during this holiday season.

    I'm glad you liked them.

Ha! That was awesome!! Conan is my favorite late night guy.

Oh, thank you! I couldn't figure out why someone else' signature was on my thread at first. It was very surreal.

I know you've had some DL trips so you are very familiar with how wonderful it is there.

I completely forgot about the bounce back offers when we were there in August. I'd already booked December but still....

Exactly. Just call Disney and they will transfer you to the ME dept who will mail you additional tags.

How exciting that you received them already. I'm waiting... You are clever to re-engineer yours.

We were only going to be at BWV but then we added on the 2 nites at BLT. We stayed BWV last summer for 4 nites so this will be a return visit to that lovely resort. I'm looking forward to seeing their Christmas decorations there.

    Enjoy your trip!

Thanks for letting me know! You are definitely my Podcast bearer of good news. I expect to hear from you again next month!! :lmao:

Thank you! I'm glad you are caught up. It's too late for me to update again tonight so lucky you, you'll stay caught up! ;)

The bounceback offer wouldn't have helped you, anyway, since the December dates are Nov 30th to Dec 4th and Dec 15th to Dec 19th.

I can't wait to see the resort decorations. We have an ADR at Cape May so we will be sure to check out the BWI and YC decorations while we are over there. The BC is our favorite resort, but we also like the WL and it just seems like the right place to be at Christmas time. We haven't been to WDW at Christmastime in years, so we are really excited about our short five night stay. :)

Hi Brenda! I think I'm caught up again!

Your night in MGM looked like so much fun!! I love the parks at night! They're just so pretty!

Tower of Terror is definitely my favorite, too! Though RnRC is a super close second!! It's great you got to enjoy both!

Your next trip plans sound wonderful!! How exciting to not only be seeing the parks during the holidays, but to have so many plans for Dismeets! I can't wait to read all about it!! :-)

    Loved the Disneyland pictures, too!

Hi Brenda! I'm so insanely behind on everything Dis-related, but I noticed your new badge while skimming the Live Update Thread and wanted to say congrats! Also, I see from the comments that your son made it home safely - that's such great news. :goodvibes

Finally, your holiday plans sound awesome - so many meetups and events to look forward to (plus an entire crew of dining reporters)! You've probably heard this already, but you have to see the holiday decorations at Grand Floridian, WL, AKL, and Beach Club. The displays at those resorts are fantastic (especially GF and the two lodges). :thumbsup2

Yay, I'm all caught up!! Really enjoying your TR so far. I love how you were able to incorporate so many DIS meets already...and it's only day 4! That's pretty impressive. :thumbsup2 I have to say, I think it's really awesome that you and Emmy are able to take these mother-daughter trips and have a wonderful time with each other. :goodvibes Anyway, I'm looking forward to the rest, and of course now that I'm caught up I can have more specific and interesting responses. :rotfl:

Oh, yeah, and congrats on being one of the top threads!! I am SO behind on my DIS Unplugged episodes, so I didn't hear the announcement but I saw the badge pop up under your username. Pretty awesome how trip reports are starting to get so big now!! I used to spend a lot of my DIS time on the theme parks board, but now I pretty much just read TR's.

Darn! Well I did get an AP discount so I'll take that.

Thanks for the suggestion, I plan to see as many resorts as we can.

Now whenever I see 'Mater I'll think of Rachel! :)

Hi TM or rather fellow ToT lover! Ha ha! MGM - you don't buy into the new name I see! A night of ToT and RnRC is good in my book.

Thanks! I've been so busy that I haven't had time to really focus on it yet. I'm excited about meeting new Disers and reuniting with old ones. :)

I hope you have enjoyed your time in Penn. :goodvibes

Hi Kristen!! I'm so THRILLED that you updated your DR! And even more EXCITED that you dropped by to say hi! I was excited to have you in this TR as well. :thumbsup2

Thanks so much Alysa. Welcome back. :goodvibes

Mr. DDW!! No worries, I know life is insane right now! I'm just glad to see you pop in! Seriously. You have a special place in this TR same as last year.

Thanks, yes Chad is "home" back in Texas now. A much better place than overseas for sure.

Just wait until they let us ladies lose on that live dining thread. It should be a great finale!

I'm looking forward to seeing the resorts decked out for the holidays. I've not looked at a lot of photos since I want it to be fresh and new. I know we'll see GF, WL, BC, YC, and BW but I don't know about AKL.

Take care and I hope life is treating you well.

Thanks khertz! I was excited to meet up with some old Dis pals and make some new Dis friends. Definitely a highlight.

Funny that you mention the theme park boards since it's been a long time since I've hung out over there but I've gravitated more from the resorts board to the TRs as well. :)

Again, I'm glad that you are joining. I've followed some of your stuff and we have some of the same Disers that we follow as well. :)

    Tuesday August 20, 2013: Day 5, Part 1

This was resort transfer day we were headed to Yacht Club. Em had accidently set an alarm for 6am oops! We went back to sleep until nearly 7am when we had to get up since we had an 8:30 ADR at Boma and those bags dont repack themselves! But first, the compulsory photos from the balcony.

I went up to the CL lounge and took photos but I didnt partake in anything since I was looking forward to Boma. We've eaten breakfast here 4 times I think. I love the theming for this restaurant. You can check out my dining review here.

    Here's some photos:

Following breakfast Em returned to the room to finish packing while I toured the pool area and the Mara food court. I certainly wish that we had an opportunity to eat at The Mara since it really looked good.

Before heading out for the day we called bell service to transfer our luggage to YC. Oh, and a few more moments on the balcony to enjoy the view and any animals that happened to be out and about.

My photo of a tree with a savanna creature lurking in the back. I meant to do that you know!

Our destination once we left AKL was Epcot. We caught the trainee bus driver vehicle which had a driver and his instructor. I sure hope he told him he didnt need to be so hard on the brakes. We were dropped off in the trainee driver zone Im sure the official name which was quite a distance from the other bus stops. Im a fan of caution so this was fine with me.

    See, Bus information.

First stop, Innoventions for Sum of all Thrills. It was a 30 minute wait but that was completely fine considering it was inside with a/c. We designed our Electric Twister virtual roller coaster and enjoyed the simulated loop, top hat and corkscrew. I dont mind being enclosed in a video hood for the minute and a half simulated ride but if you are claustrophobic you may want to reconsider.

Here's what the ride looks like without the hood and without the thrill!

Edited to Add the video of Em designing the roller coaster here.

Headed to yacht club eh? I'll miss all those beautiful animal and AKL pictures! Oh wait... 3 more days and I'll have the live view! In that case I'm looking forward to yacht club very much. :D
    I love breakfast at Boma!
Adorable pic of you guys at the Epcot entrance.
DH loves the Sum of all Thrills. I have never tried it because gwarsh those pods are tiny! Just seeing you sitting in an open one makes my claustrophobia flare up!

Time for another resort switch huh? You're an expert at it I'm sure!

I tried Sum of All Thrills in May. It was cool but not something I feel the need to do again. I guess I just prefer the real thing!!

Such a bummer about having to leave AKL... But I am sure that YC is just as nice!

I had to sneak over and read your dining review of Boma breakfast. We have eaten there for dinner and enjoyed it - but never breakfast. I have heard great things about it. We almost always do Tusker House breakfast twice during our trips - and I have heard that their offerings are similar... If that's the case, not sure I could do 3 of the "same" breakfasts in one trip? Anyways - thanks for the tons of great food pictures - and making me so hungry this early in the morning. LOL

I don't think I could do sum of all thrills - incredibly claustrophobic here... But I am glad you had a great time!

Looking forward to hearing about your YC experience and seeing that room - so far you've made me have an extreme desire to stay at WL and AKL... LOL

Thanks for the great update Brenda! :)

Wow, I am so behind on everyone's threads. Congrats on being Thread of the Month!

Love the AKL pictures. I love that place. Did you see there was a baby zebra born there the other day? So cute!
