Yes, I AM the Upgrade Queen! 8/1 MK Parade

Ok, add me to the list please! I tell my 15 year old daughter that I would be so happy if I could live at Disney World and she just rolls her eyes at me. I believe I'd be happy living at the Polynesian tho...lol. I love that place! I got up early one morning when we stayed there and went to Captain Cook's and ordered the Tonga Toast. It's cheaper to get it there than to eat at Kona Cafe but if you'd rather go to a table service restaurant that's cool. :goodvibes I thought it was good too but it was too much for one person to eat and it was sweet. The good thing about staying there was that I could get up early, get my Tonga Toast and order breakfast for the rest of my family and they would let me carry all of it back to our room on one of their trays. The lady at Captain Cook's told me just to put the tray outside the door of our room when we were finished and someone would pick it up and she was right as it was gone within minutes. I just love the whole atmosphere of that resort. Anywho, I can't believe she was expecting your daughter to pull a fast one on you. That is something to go redneck on her for too! And after that, even tho your husband was so ticked at her, she was enough of a B to delete your pictures. I think my head was spinning just relaying that whole story to my husband. Can't wait for the next post. I don't watch soap operas.....but I do like reading them!:rotfl2:

Me too! Me too! Although I want to live in Mickey's house. Imagine, waking up next to Mickey every morning! (Although I do wake up next to Goofy as it is!) The bed looks a little hard, but I would manage. It is an unusual love I have for Mickey. My only concern...you don't actually have to be male to wear the Mickey costume, do you? Awkward!!
(I did just learn that Mickey is a person in a costume. On our last trip, my 8 year old DS made a comment about Mickey being a person in costume, and my DH told him to keep his voice down because mommy didn't know. He thought he was one up on me.
Months later, while driving in the car, he let it slip that Mickey is not real, just a costume. Being the actress I am , I pulled over, welled a few tears in my eyes, and asked him to please tell me it was a lie. (Academy award winning performance I might add.) He looked firmly at me and said, "Mommy. I thought it was time you know!!!" ):rotfl2:

Are you serious??! I am crushed!

That is one of my dream jobs. Can you imagine what it feels like to make all of those kids (and goofy parents like us) happy?

Hi, Kara's sis!:hippie: (one of her friends from the CFWW thread)

Oh. My. Goodness. I can't believe it. Really can't believe it. Well, I can b/c who would make it up... but seriously, who behaves like that? I just caught up on all the shenanigans and I honestly don't know how you showed such restraint! :worship:

I second that...I'm at a loss for words....:headache:

Hi!

I've spent an enjoyable afternoon catching up with your TR - so much fun to read!

We are very excited to be going back to WDW next year (only 13 months to go!:lmao:)

Unlike you - we have to get on a big, shiny metal bird and fly across the Atlantic to get our dose of magic! But reading reports like yours keep us going!

BSIL - what a B!!!!

Can't wait to read more!

Sharixx

Sometimes I miss the longer trips taken less often. Even though we don't need to rush when we're there for a weekend, I still miss the relaxation that a week or 10 day trip offers. And I REALLY love the anticipation of planning a big trip and counting down!

I wonder how many of us there are out there? :lmao: My DD and I talk about this all the time! We used to plot how we could avoid detection and stay in the parks after hours! Just kidding, tho! No one could seriously do that and not get caught but it was fun planning where you could go and what you could do! But honestly, over by Liberty Tree Tavern and Adventureland is kinda spooky because it is so dimly lit at night even when the park is open.

I have a friend (Debbie......) who said she has visualized herself hiding in the bushes off Main St, just waiting for the park to close and lock her in there! Unfortunately for all of us, I think there's more action that goes on AFTER the park closes!!!!

popcorn:: I first read -- Jeff becomes "That Guy" in the 3pm parade...
I thought that he participated in some way. Hee, hee! Did you see that Disneyland parade proposal?, and if so, do you know if it was real? I don't know if I would want to hear that it wasn't. I loved it, and would be crushed!

That is totally not acceptable about you babysitting while SOMEONE goes on multiple rides! To top it off, getting Ally involved? Totally uncool, IMO.

I have to ask - do you all, who do such wonderful TR's, take notes on your trip? How do you remember all of the details? I love the food and drink pictures.

I am a fellow boo-hooer, especially at WDW, especially at MK, and also believe that all cares and worries disappear in WDW. It's so magical, and only those of us that feel it can understand that. Non-believers just don't get it.

Pam - I do not take notes, but sometimes when something funny happens, Jeff will say, "don't forget that for your TR" - but I remember the sequence of events based on the order my pics are downloaded from my camera. Every once in awhile, I will jot something down that I want to make sure I remember.

OH..... didn't know you could get Tonga Toast anywhere but Kona.... Not overly impressed by Kona - like I said, the atmosphere is very Denny's. And I tried the tonga toast, so I'm good to go. But it was too sweet for me. Next time I'd try the macadamia pancakes I think, if I were to go there again.

I want to be on the list!!! :yay: I would want to live in THE castle.:cloud9:

Too many talking mice for my taste. ;)

Me too! Me too! Although I want to live in Mickey's house. Imagine, waking up next to Mickey every morning! (Although I do wake up next to Goofy as it is!) Mickey needs a sleep number bed. Don't think I'd be comfy in that house. Too "bold" for my tastes. Besides, there's no place to go for a night cap in MK..... :rolleyes1

Uh, my dear nephew said what? Mickey? Costume? WTH???????? Next thing he's gonna tell me there's no Santa Claus!!!!

Are you serious??! I am crushed!

That is one of my dream jobs. Can you imagine what it feels like to make all of those kids (and goofy parents like us) happy?

Hi, Kara's sis!:hippie: (one of her friends from the CFWW thread)

My friend Ellen met a former Mickey Mouse while we were sitting at R&C on our DISmoms trip - the gal still knew the autograph and signed a hat for a little boy there (while he was away of course!). When he came back he dad told him that Mickey stopped by to see him. Way cool!

Mornig Kara !! Enjoying the updates and learnin what BSIL is doing to earn "Witch of the Year "award !!!

"Witch" of the year? Rosie, you are waaaaaay too generous! :rotfl2:

Oh. My. Goodness. I can't believe it. Really can't believe it. Well, I can b/c who would make it up... but seriously, who behaves like that? I just caught up on all the shenanigans and I honestly don't know how you showed such restraint! :worship:

Like my sis said, jail just doesn't appeal to me, so I had to somehow keep my cool.... :headache:

I second that...I'm at a loss for words....:headache:

You know it!

Ooh how exciting .. My brother was "That Guy" when we went last April ;)

Loving the update of course fantastic as always!!
And as for BSIL :headache:

I think it's more fun for the rest of the people in the group when someone ELSE is "that guy."

OMG!!! What a total witch with a capitol B!!!

I've thought about hiding out somewhere in Disney too. :thumbsup2

I always get kinda sad when my TR comes to a close, and we're getting there......

Still in MK and making our way through Liberty Square. When we got to HM, Ally wanted to ride with her cousin so I agreed to ride with them, so Jeff was odd man out, but that would change very soon.

We are trying to take a family photo in front of each and every attraction.... little by little....

P5030064.jpg

Waited in line to ride Cindy's golden carousel - why? Because we could. And we try each and every time but finally.....

the elusive horse. THE horse on the golden carousel.....

Cindy's horse!!!! After trying to get on this horse time and time again, we finally did it!

P5030073.jpg

P5030074.jpg

And I don't mind when another child gets on the horse first, but when they don't even know what they have scored......

So, ha ha, na na na na boo boo! We got Cindy's horse, and Youuuuuu didn't!
1143.gif

Trying to get this pic of the kids on Dumbo was nuts! Why is it that people just let their kids run right up into your picture? Do they not see my kids in the big plastic elephant? Or did they miss the camera? The frozen kids with fake smiles plastered on their faces? Or did they miss the Disney etiquette class being taught outside the front gates? Seriously?

This must have taken me 5 minutes to get a clear shot!

P5030065.jpg

And speaking of big plastic elephants, what is it about this stupid attraction? Sorry, I know lots of people love it, but...... why? And for all Ally's daredevil tendancies, she would ride this over and over. :confused3

Next up was the incredible barf machine, aka the Teacups.....

P5030066.jpg

P5030067.jpg

Even Jeff took a pass this time and let BIL take the kids....

Next up - lunch at Cosmic Rays - it was packed inside!!! The good thing is that we got to eat separately, if you know what I mean. I called it a nice BSIL reprieve.

No food porn though - after all, it was burgers and fries......

Afterwards, we hung outside a bit and watched Push do his thing. I love watching him!!!! So did the kids, although they couldn't quite figure out what was going on....

P5030069.jpg

On to score on Buzz Lightyear - well, we didn't actually "score" ;) but Jeff did rack up some points. Why can't I ever beat him on this? I whoop him every time on TSM, but not on Buzz!!!

P5030070.jpg

P5030071.jpg

OK, so who has been to see Monster's Inc Laff Factory? A show of hands please......

P5030072.jpg

OK, so you know that someone is always singled out before the show to dance, or to be ridiculed in some silly way, right? I think dance idiot gets called out two or three times, the others just once..... unless you are "that guy."

"That guy" is called out before the show, and several times during the show with silly comments directed at him from whichever monster is on stage at the time.

And "that guy" just happened to be Jeff. The first time the spotlight nearly blinded him, he just looked at me and said, "oh, crap" under his breath. Yup, that was only the beginning.

If you look at most of our pics, you'll see a diagonal strap across Jeff's chest - that is his pin lanyard. But according to one of the monsters, "oh, look, that guy is wearing a seatbelt." It was soooooo funny! Especially since "that guy" wasn't me!

A CM came up to us after the show and gave Jeff a sticker that said, "I was THAT GUY at Monsters Inc" and Jeff looked at me and said, "that's it? I don't get a fast pass or anything?" :rotfl2:

Up next, the 3pm parade and why I was soooooo mad (but BSIL wasn't the cause of it!).

Great update Kara!:thumbsup2

We saw Push last year when he asked my eldest daughter for a hug - she was thrilled!

I love the carousel - I'll have to look out for Cindy's horse next time! Fantastic!

How funny that Jeff was 'that guy' - I would hate to be picked out at **** (such a bad acronym!:lmao:) but I'd love it if someone I was with was picked on!!

I'm sad you're nearly finished too!:sad1:

So let's move on to happier times in the Happiest Place on Earth, shall we?

Now just to remind you, Jeff and I want to try EVERY restaurant at WDW, so we decided on Kona to try the much coveted Tonga Toast for breakfast.

P5030039.jpg

This came with a side of strawberry compote....

P5030040.jpg

P5030041.jpg

Personally, I liked the tonga toast, but the strawberry compote made it super sweet - so I only ate a few bites like that.

I wouldn't have been able to do the compote either but sure hope to try it one day with out that part!

I cried.... AGAIN! This time I don't know if it was rope drop, or the fact that we had already checked out and were heading home when we left MK, but it really doesn't matter. I turn into the Epcot dancing fountain whenever I A) first see the castle at MK; B) rope drop at MK; C) watch Ally's face as the characters greet her during a parade; D) just freakin BEING at WDW!!!!

"Good Morning, Good Morning!!!!"

P5030043.jpg

Train arrives, mouse hops out, and all is good in the world. Seriously. Healthcare debate? WHO CARES!!! Bazillion dollar US debt? WHO CARES!!!!!

I'm at Disney World!!!!!

exactly!

We now made our way over to BTMRR where BIL was to sit out with the baby. He wasn't happy about it either. Once we got in line BSIL asked Jeff and I if we would watch the baby so they could ride "just one" ride together. Mmmm hmmmm...... Jeff and I had just had the discussion that we were not going to be babysitters this day, but of course we agreed to "one ride."

When we got off, we saw that there was a 15 minute wait for Splash. We agreed to watch the baby while they all went on and took Ally with them. We figured 15 minute wait, plus 15 minute ride, they would be gone at least 25-30 minutes, so we went off and strolled around Frontierland, pin trading, shopping, etc.

A CM saw us with the baby and said he looked just like us! :rotfl2: And the funny thing is that he doesn't even look like BSIL - he's a dead ringer for BIL so no relation to either Jeff or I in the looks department!

After about 20 minutes, we headed back to the bottom of the drop where the flume comes around the bend, thinking we could snag some good pics of them. We had the stroller poised to keep him out of the sun as it was getting HOT already! I had the camera ready and we waited.

And waited.

And waited.

We stood there for nearly 30 minutes before we see the crew coming up to us finally. Jeff asked what happened because they NEVER came by on the ride....

BSIL laughed and said, "We kinda cheated. The wait was only 5 minutes so when we didn't see you we went on BTMRR again." And she giggled like it was the funniest thing in the world.

Jeff went off this time! "You did WHAT??? So we've been staning out here for 45 minutes while you went on another ride?"

BSIL: "Well, we didn't see you so we figured we had time."

Jeff: :headache:

OH, it was very uncomfortable for a time there. Jeff, under his breath to me, "Can you believe that? Who does that?"

Then I pulled Ally aside and said, "so you didn't see us?" She told me, "yeah, we saw you but Aunt BSIL said to pretend we didn't." OMG! Seriously?

It took Jeff awhile to settle down after this. He was LIVID!!!! We didn't even mind watching the baby. But the lies and deception were the issue. And to include Ally in that????? Nice.
she really is the secret hidden long lost sister of my EXBSIL.

Great pics! I love push, we didn't see him this year :(

I have to admit, I wouldn't have known that was Cindy's horse. This is what happens when you don't have girls! (well I have DS12 but she was NOT a girly girl at ALL!).

I love Jeff's comment!

Perhaps you should accidentally not invite BSIL to the next fun event you throw, and lie about misplacing her invitation. And when she calls you on it, ask her how that feels.

Sheesh, we're obviously biased towards you and your family, but that was the craziest, stupidest moves I can think of for a mother to do. Any mother, anywhere! Even though we love you, no well meaning woman should ever be that...itchy but not itchy the one with a b. You know what I mean. Kick her in the shins for me.

Oh, so THAT's Push. I knew about the talking trash can, but didn't remember that his name was Push!

You don't ride the teacups? Or Dumbo? Oh my!

How funny about Jeff's Monster experience!

Do you post on the food porn thread?!

Fun update! Thank goodness for crowds at Cosmic Rays. :rolleyes1 I've never seen Push but would like to. It (he?) looks cute. I've also never seen Monsters Inc. but now I will forever think of your DH as "that guy." :upsidedow

Great update Kara!:thumbsup2

Cindy's horse is the one with the gold ribbon on its tail. When I saw the carousel slowing down, I saw that it stopped on the opposite side from us. There were only a few people in front of us in line so I thought we had a shot. I ran like a bolt of lightning, well, sort of..... but I did run! Then Jeff ran from the otherside and somewhere we lost Ally. So yes, we were the Parents of the Year sitting on a horse with a gold ribbon yelling, "Ally!!!! Over here!!!" :rolleyes1 But we got the stupid horse!

Great pics! I love push, we didn't see him this year :(

I have to admit, I wouldn't have known that was Cindy's horse. This is what happens when you don't have girls! (well I have DS12 but she was NOT a girly girl at ALL!).

I love Jeff's comment!

Did you hear Push got assaulted? Apparently he went up to a little girl and said something like, "hey, you in the pink dress." and her dad went up to him and smacked him, tried to knock him over, and yelled "What the f are you talking to her for????" Seriously. People have issues.

Perhaps you should accidentally not invite BSIL to the next fun event you throw, and lie about misplacing her invitation. And when she calls you on it, ask her how that feels.

I will kick her in the shins for you!!! Gladly!

You don't ride the teacups? Or Dumbo? Oh my!

How funny about Jeff's Monster experience!

Do you post on the food porn thread?!

Nope. I hate Dumbo. Hate the teacups. Hate Aladdin's flying deathtraps. Hate those super high rocket thingys. I don't do round and round.

Fun update! Thank goodness for crowds at Cosmic Rays. :rolleyes1 I've never seen Push but would like to. It (he?) looks cute. I've also never seen Monsters Inc. but now I will forever think of your DH as "that guy." :upsidedow

Push is cute!!!! It's his voice. I just wanna hug his cuddly square, aluminum, ok so not so cuddly. But he is cute!!!!

The reason he is known as "that guy" is because at several points during the show, the big spotlight goes to the same guy, and the monster says something about "that guy....." like when he said, "Look, that guy is wearing his seatbelt." It's soooo funny!

I can't believe someone would do that. I would understand if it only took 5 minutes to ride BTMRR, but being gone that long. When you have young kids like that you just have to understand there are things you won't be able to do together.

I love that Jeff was "That Guy". Do they ever allow kids to be "That Guy"? Jacob so wants to be "That Guy", was actually thinking of making him a t-shirt saying he wants to be "That Guy".

Maybe Buzz is more for men and TSMM is more for women. I beat Jacob at TSMM and he beats me on Buzz, seems like it is the same for Jonas also.

I wll look for Allys Horse in September and beat down people to ride it for her !!!:rotfl2:I LOVE the Carrousel!! It is one of my all time favorite rides anywhere !!!
So are you planning bewing up Witches Brew this Halloween for BSIL :lmao: Buy her a new vehicle Brooms are cheap !!!:rotfl2:
