How was internet service on board? Wifi from the staterooms while in port? Hope it was better than our med in '07.

Can anyone post navigators when you return.

We're on the July 13 with Greece so we'd appreciate any tips you can give us.

Well we got back yesterday. It was a great trip! I saw many of the fellow DISers on board. I was in the cabin next to a couple. I was in 7562. Hope everyone made it home safely.

Regarding WIFI as usual it was slow but it was not as slow as our last time on the Magic in Sept out of NYC. The other thing that changed for me was that you first log on and then go to another screen that asks if you want to "connect" or add additional time. You are not considered logged on until you click connect unlike before which was once your password was accepted you were connected. Also you can log out by just typing logout.com which is also faster than the instructions on the sheet. Have a great trip!

Has anybody looked at their Shutters DVD yet? I just "unlocked" the photos and all the borders are there...but there doesn't seem to be a way to use the photos WITHOUT borders. I'd like to be able to do both since some of the borders crop funny....

Am I missing something?

Just got home yesterday!

Great to meet all of you and sorry if I didn't recognize/greet you during the cruise - I'm really bad with names/faces! I wasn't snubbing you!

Thanks to all for the FE gifts! They are so clever and are a great reminder of a wonderful trip!

Everything fell apart as soon as we touched US soil.

Our flight from Newark to Des Moines was cancelled Friday night.
We couldn't get a flight back home for 2 days - and ended up spending an additional $700 for 2 nights at the Hilton Penn Station in Newark and meals.

My suitcase was lost in Newark after we cleared customs and still missing.

We were routed through O'Hare yesterday, where our son's bag was left.

So when we finally got home yesterday afternoon, we only had 2 of the 4 bags we checked. And I'm still calling United to try to locate them!

Sadly, I packed all the FE gifts in my suitcase. I am really hoping we get our bag back, because I hate to lose them. And I am so mad at United right now- I will NEVER fly with them again!!

Wow, maybe it's just because I know more people on this cruise than I've ever before but travel to and from Barcelona seemed incredibly difficult for so many people this trip.

And wow .. 2 days in Newark??? Yikes.

We had a few families not make the June 27th until the next day in Villefranche, and some luggage was still arriving at Civitavecchia. Also reports are one family had their hotel room broken into in Barcelona and their passports and $7k stolen. We left late from Barcelona apparently because they were getting things sorted out.

Lots more kids is sailing... Halls are noisier but adult areas less busy.

I am so sorry to hear about your experiences. I hope United finds them. Ask them if they shipped them off to Atlanta where all the lost luggages are sent if they cannot locate the "owner".

I totally agree with you, disfamilyfun. We only booked United because we were able to do 2 of the tickets on frequent flier miles, but it is not worth all the grief and the terrible attitude we got from their Customer Service - blech!!

Happy to hear about your luggage. Sorry to hear about United because they use to be great. DH's brother retired from them several years ago and now would rather pay on another airline than risk what happens these days on United.

Just back last night after our Paris post-cruise adventure. Made it with all of our luggage so sounds like we ended up better off than some of you!

Many thanks for the wonderful fish extender gifts - everyone had really great ideas! The kids got a huge kick out of checking our FE whenever we returned to the stateroom (usually after DRAGGING them out of the kid's club!) I hope everyone got ours as well - I got a bit confused by some staterooms not having FE's hanging outside - maybe some random people got gifts too!

Our favourite ports were probably La Spezia (we did Pisa on our own) and Mykonos (possibly just because of the relaxed atmosphere in contrast to Kusadasi the day before). DH enjoyed Italy the most overall so maybe we will swing a trip back there - so many other regions to explore in that lovely country! Plus my picky eater could find stuff to eat there- let's jut say Paris was a not so pleasant adventure in that regard and we ended up just looking for Italian trattorias...

Malta was incredibly beautiful and very interesting history I had not known before (learned a lot at the historian's lecture on board), but too much brown for me being so arid and using the limestone on everything! I think I would get depressed after a while - much preferred the bright white of Mykonos.

LOVED our dining staff (Pairoj and Julia) and thoroughly enjoyed the food - loved getting all the specialty menus during this cruise. REALLY missed knowing where to eat every day when we were in Paris so spoiled on that ship...

Thought we would have way too much time to kill at Barcelona airport with a 12:55 flight to Paris on debarkation day. Not sure if this was the case with all airlines, but Air France check in was a JOKE. Complete chaos and some very useless people working (one guy checked in 2 people - individuals not groups - in 40 minutes). Ended up with very little time before boarding. How did those with earlier flights fare? Also got ripped off by a cab from port to airport. Still cheaper than transfers for 4 of us, but wish we had arranged private transport.

I'll try to do a proper trip report and post for others on the July 13 and Med planning threads.

Deb- So sorry to hear of your travel woes. That must be so frustrating! It's Dean from Michigan. Hope your son had a good time with the 18-21 yr old group. They seemed like a good bunch of kids and my daughter had a great time with them. They already have a bunch of pictures up on FB. We almost missed our connecting flight in Frankfurt because we were delayed leaving Barcelona because of the baggage handlers. Only had 30 minutes to make it but luckily there was a rep at the gate holding a sign for our Toronto flight and they escorted us and 4 other families the back way through customs and to our plane. Ended up being delayed another 40 minutes because of strong tail winds so our luggage made the connection luckily. Then had to drive home 4 hours to Michigan. Up traveling for 24 hours total so pretty exhausting but I will not complain after reading your post Anyway I enjoyed meeting you and talking with your husband. Take care!

Hi Dean! Great to see you again, and it was really nice to meet you and your family on the cruise!

Mark has been on Facebook, and I think he was catching up with his new friends. He really had a good time with the 18-21 group! We were on the same flight as one of the guys, and we saw several of the group at the Barcelona airport, so he was able to hang out with them a bit more. This was a big contrast to DD's experience last year - the others in her group were more interested in finding booze and a place to smoke (at least, that was her impression). Mark had oral surgery today though (wisdom teeth out), so if he is posting on FB, he may be a bit loopy!!

Wow, you had an exhausting trip too! 4 hour drive - we had a 2 hour drive, and that was bad enough!
