It's as close to perfect as you are going to get, unless the unlikely or unfortunate event of a hurricane.
It's warm enough to swim if you want but not beastly hot. I live in east Texas and when I say beastly hot, I mean a hundred degrees with humidity equaling a heat index of 110 and over. Which is what you get in Florida in the summer My friends from "up north" consider 90 degrees to be brutal and 40 degrees to be "shirt sleeve" while I haul out the woolies, so it's going to depend on your perspective.
But the average in October there is delightful. IMO anyway. Certainly compared to summer.
