Here it is, folks. Our WFD thread until we get the other one back. I will seriously curl into the fetal position and cry if we don't get it back.:sad1:

We are expecting Robin and Kevin tonight. I plan on making the stuffed pepper stoup for them. Not 100% sure if they are coming though. Robin sent Scott the rudest e-mail while at work the other day and we have no idea what's going on with her. Kevin knows about it. We made plans for them to come over while at lunch Sunday. I haven't heard anything to indicate otherwise.

Say a prayer for us. If they do come over, it's going to be really awkward for Scott.

ETA: Here is the link to the original What's For Dinner Thread. I think I may add it to my signature, too.

Lindsay Don't cry I copied and pasted alot of our recipes. I have them saved in my computer. Let me know if anyone is looking for something. I couldn't get all of them.

Last night we had the pork chops and noodles I didn't cook the night before.

I think tonight we will have Pizza

OMG! Lindsay, I'm with you, I am seriously freaking out about our thread! We have to have our list with all our recipes! I saved some of my favs but not all. And all of your time you've spent to keep it up & running.:sad1:

I didn't see that notice & can't find it now. Did they say it would return?

Meanwhile, here's a pic of the Arroz con Pollo (& guacamole salad) I forgot to post yesterday.

IMG_0031-1.jpg

Yes, they said they hadn't poofed forever and they'd be back. Thank goodness!

I'm afraid all those long threads are going away. Just too much drain on the board. :sad1: We will survive though! Maybe we could get an email recipe train going or something.... :confused3

I'm going to make spaghetti tonight. It's cold cold cold here and we could all use some comfort food. I've said it before, I could feed this crew spaghetti five nights a week and they would be happy.

What did she say to Scott to upset you guys so much???

Lindsay, I sure hope it does come back! What did Robin say to Scott?

Loreli, Stay warm & enjoy your spaghetti!

Loreli, it's a very long story. But as you know, Scott works with her. That's how we met. Anyway, she sent him a horribly rude e-mail on Wednesday. It's hard to explain, but the idea of being around her right now is making Scott uncomfortable. I am staying out of it. Whatever goes on at work is between those two.

/
I am already in withdrawal over our thread :scared:! I also never got all of the recipes I wanted becasue they were so easy to access.

Lindsay- I feel badly for Scott. I agree that it is best to stay out of the squabble between the two of them.

I think we are either going to have leftovers or Buddy and I will take Kady out for dinner. Jeff is off tonight so DD wants to go with him to Texas Hold-m night that the K of C is sponsoring so I told her Kady can stay with us. She is going to be upset if I join her and her "Pa" becasue she has been wanting a "date night" with him. She used to go out for breakfast on Sunday with him before her food allergy, just the two of them and once in a while they go to dinner and a movie. She blew him off the last time for a play date with a friend, (he said he is 55 and getting stood up) but is still holding him to their night out. That's my girl!!!!!!!!!:woohoo:

So it was "work" rude not personal rude? You're right, the best plan is to stay out of it.

Hey guys, I hope the thread comes back just for newbies like me that can find so much from it! Otherwise by the time we all pool again we can get them back :) Well we're going out tonight! Yay, I've really been working on cooking in so going out will be a treat for me. I'm not sure if the husband realizes it though! Bring on the Shushi! Have a great day everyone.

I seldom post here, but I sure do love your recipes Dinner Folk!
Hoping it gets restored very soon!

As a poster of another long term thread, I don't mind it hitting the bin, but a thread like yours is a very useful tool. Looks like when it comes back, I'll have to do the smart thing copy more of the recipes~

Jean

Never had the nerve to barge into your previous thread but since this one is new, I'll bite. We're having pork loin roast for dinner. I haven't quite decided yet how I'll cook it (although if I'm crocking it, I'd better make it snappy, eh?). Suggestions welcome! :thumbsup2

I never got too into the other thread either but I feel like this is a fresh start!!

We are having pizza for dinner tonight ... boring I know.

Tomorrow will be good though. I think I am going to make Teriyaki Beef Short Ribs!

Well I glad you finally joined us! I have made this one from Recipezaar adn my family enjoyed it.

Company Pork Roast Recipe #23939

6-8
servings
timer.gif
2¾ hours 15 min prep

4 lbs pork loin roast 2 tablespoons honey 1 tablespoon soy sauce 1 tablespoon wine vinegar 1 teaspoon dry mustard 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon garlic powder 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
  1. Place roast, fat side up, in foil lined roasting pan.
  2. Mix remaining ingredients and brush on all sides of roast.
  3. Cover with foil and bake at 325 degrees for 2 1/2 hours basting frequently.
  4. Uncover the last 45 minutes to brown roast.
Watch your time, reviews indicated that it cooked faster than the recipe stated, I think mine did as well, basting is the key to this one.

Sometimes it's scarey to just jump in, but all are welcome. We were all new at one time. :welcome:

Good morning everyone!

Looks like some new folks are joining us, this new thread could be a good thing!!

Lindsay - When our thread comes back, Ill do whatever you need to help in saving our recipes.

Take-out tonight.:cool1:

Hello and Welcome! I have been doing my pork loins in the crock and we love them! I have a recipe for Balsamic Glazed Pork that I have been using....of course I do not even save my own recipes so I hope the old thread comes back, which they say it will.

Another way is to slice apples and onions, place them on the bottom of the crock, place pork on top and season with salt, pepper and garlic. Add some white wine or broth and cook on low for about 6 - 7 hours...basting periodically.

***********
Also, welcome to all the new posters...come back often. We are a great group!

I had no idea the thread was going anywhere. I'm glad I found everyone again. Welcome to our new contributors!

Dinner tonight is going to be chicken wings two ways: sesame and peanut satay, vegetable fried rice (plain for Caili), and vegetarian eggrolls. We never get to go out for Chinese food anymore because of Liam's shellfish allergy, so I am looking forward to this.

Oh, We're having Earl of Sandwich for dinner tonite! :cheer2:

We'll be in the World!

Jean

Hey all!

Lindsay, I will do whatever it takes to get the old thread up and running too...don't worry. I am sorry that things are a little uncomfortable with Robin. It is really hard at times to separate work and friendship but it has to get better right? She is gonna be your SIL soon...hopefully like Loreli said, it was re: business and not personal even though mean emails should never be in the mix...I think I am rambling and not making sense!!! HTH!

Janice, Are you feeling better?

Sheryl, Your chicken and rice looks great!

Nancy, that pork sounds good! How do you think it would be in the crock? Buddy and Kady's date night sounds great...it really is so sweet that they do that...

Kathy, How is Kyle?

***********
I am in a fog or something today...my body is still adjusting to the miscarriage and I think my first TOM is here...so that may be it. Sorry to give TMI...

We are having chinese tonight. :cool1:

A is going by his dad this weekend so that may be why I am in a funk too...some weeks affect me more than others. I think he will be home early on Sunday though since he has to come back this way for Little League try outs. This is his first year for LL...please send him some pixie dust...I think the other boys will be alot better than my baby...:scared:

Another thing is my house is a disaster becauce of the renovations...been this way since October...:scared1:

Have a great day all!
