FINALLY caught up! I haven't been on BTMRR in years, and then only at Disneyland... think Jose will give me a Mickey bar if I ride it again in November?
It was really neat to see both the fireworks and the water pageant at the same time.Wow, you sure got some great pictures! I especially like the CBJ and the fireworks ones. So cool how the water pageant was going on too!
Glad you liked BTMRR. I usually put my arms up in the air and am always afraid they're going to get ripped off going under some of those caves. LOL!
Disney food is amazing....mmmm. You are probably eating some right NOW. Nope I lied...you just sent me a text message.I love how you spent your last full day and morning at the park!! You can just tell reading that you had an amazing time with your mom!!
You got stuck on HM...holy moly I love when I get stuck on HM its amazing...my wish is to be stuck in the attic of course I might have to sneak off the doombuggy and then I might get kicked out...so maybe its a good thing I have never gotten stuck in the attic LOL!!!!
Did I ever mention I have never seen the Country Bear Jamboree I just might have to do this in 2 weeks on my solo MK day!!
Awww you got to meet Anita...I only missed her by a couple of days...bummer...oh well next time LOL!!!
Ughh to the annoying family...if the kid kept kicking me I probably would have said something...that is just beyond rude!!
Now you're done so that means I'd better finish up my last day...you have inspired me LOL!!
Can't wait for your final thoughts!!!
Is it just me or does Disney food just always look amazing???
I am really looking forward to seeing Spectro in January. In fact I'd like to have a viewing spot like Brook's when she got the Castle into her Spectro photos!what a wonderful last evening. When we stayed at the Poly, we never got see Wishes from the beach, I am just too much a fan of Wishes on Main Street. And in January the crowds are really tolerable, especially on a non-Spectro night!
Yes you do! They are like little pieces of heaven. MMmmmmmmm!I have been axiously awaiting an update and was SO excited to see one announced in the title! As I started reading and you referenced shoplifting, I realized your previous update was during my vaction and I had somehow never read it so I got 2 updates at once
Sounds like a wonderful final day in MK and a great ending with drinks and fireworks on the poly beach!!! (I have GOT to try one of those pretzels next chance I get!)
Yeah, I was over my trip by the time I got to the airport. So UNmagical. UGH.Your last day was filled with some fantastic favorite things - mickey bars, cream cheese pretzels, classic MK rides, a DIS meet and Wishes. Sounds perfect to me!
Your airport experience? Not so much.
So sorry that there was so much rain and foot pain that you doubted the Disney magic even for a minute. Super glad you have reclaimed it and are planning to go back!!
Looking forward to final thoughts!!
It did have great moments. I think my expectations were set too high and then when some things didn't go as planned it just was too much for me.Sounds like the perfect last day of your trip with Mom, LL! So sorry that this trip was an unmagical one for you, but it did have some great moments!! Thanks for sharing them with us!!! Love all the DIS meets, the time with Mom and all the great Disney food! YUMMY!!!
Looking forward to your list!!
Oh, we should start a We hate Balloons club.I swear that cream cheese pretzel is going to be my FIRST snack next time!!! You are killing me with these pictures!
I share your hatred of balloons...FINALLY someone who hates balloons as much as I do!
Love the idea of Pina Colavas on the Poly beach! Great idea for your last night!
You are the 2nd trip I've read recently that people were granted late check out! Never thought about doing that!
Sounds like you had a great last day. I'm so happy for you
Thanks Heidi! I knew you had mentioned these things before. I'm writing them down for January.I have a couple suggestions that might help with checking your luggage at the airport with SW for your return flight. Any one of them or all of them together should help, it has for us.
1. Try to fly out of Orlando on a weekday...you'd be amazed at the difference.
2. When you get off the ME bus look for a porter to move your bags...they know where to go.....quickly.
3. Use an outside SW Skycab to check in your luggage if all at possbile.
Yes you have to tip the porter and skycab but boy is that money well spent!
Thanks. I like passing on a little bit of pixie dust!Glad to see your update!! Sounds like you had an awesome last day at MK. I LOVE those cream cheese pretzles!! We usually get at least one every trip. The fireworks looked great from the Poly. Sounds like you had a nice morning by the pool on departure day. That was sweet of you to give your arcade card to those boys. Boys love the arcades. I know mine do!! Great update LL!!
No it doesn't. I think I'll be better prepared for it in the future.LL I am glad you can look back on the trip fondly. When you love WDW like us DISers do we want it to all be magical, but it does not always work out that way does it?
It was a fun read, I am glad you did BTMR, and saw Wishes from the Poly. I think we will have to see it from there next year....
Seriously! There were many people asking those types of questions at our gate too. People need to chill. I mean it's not like they are going to let kids be separated from their families. I've seen flight attendants shuffling people around to accommodate families before. It sounds like your last day at the MK was great. It was so great you and your mom got to spend some great quality time together.
I know exactly what you mean about the flights home from Disney. Just waiting in the airport in Orlando starts to get me a bit edgy just from the kids running around. The last time I went with my BFF we had to laugh at this one woman who was all put out with the AirTran boarding attendent. She was yelling at the poor guy because flying out of Orlando they don't board families with kids first, they go strictly by zones. I had to laugh when he told her that nearly everyone flying from Orlando was traveling with kids, it would make no sense.
It was really nice. I think I need more relaxing time throughout the trip next time. I think I was too ambitious in May.I can't remember what Mom had but she had something.
That just made me laugh so hard!!
I love the sound of your last day - relaxing, fun, good food and beautiful pics of the fireworks with the EWP going on. I want to do that someday too!
It was a good end. I love my Pool Time!Oh LL I just loved this final update on your trip and look forward to your final musings about it as well! Love that you met Anita, that you road the "wildest ride in the wilderness" and that you saw Wishes from the Poly beach!! Truly a nice day and what a nice relaxing morning at the Pop before departure! Okay so if we "forget" about the other stuff, with the airport, etc., it sure seems like a good end to a great trip.
I enjoyed hearing all about it!!
They will be coming up soon!I'm sad this one is over but happily following along on ur PTR. Interested in your final thoughts.
You are so right! It's not always the kids. George was seriously awesome. It was a great flight. What beautiful pictures of Wishes! It seems lke you had a very nice last day! Sorry about the kid, I know what you mean about just having enough with kids. It's sometimes not even the kids but the fact that the parents are oblivious to the fact that their children are annoying people around them! At least you had a good flight! I bet George was hilarious after 7 free beers!!
He really was a lot of fun.It was great meeting you too! Your pictures from the Poly beach are amazing, I love the fact that you get to see the electrical light parade as well. I'm so sorry you had such a tough time with the rain and your feet then to top it off with rude parents and children at the airport. Not the best way to end the trip, but George did sound like fun!
It was! What a great last two days! Relaxing by the pool on departuer morning sounds like heaven.
Yes, it is hilarious. Something she does often too whenever Disney comes up.What a wonderful update, LL! (Even though it is the last update for this TR, and you know how I feel about that! )
I would love to hear your mom imitating your yelping on Big Thunder! That's hysterical! I am very proud of you for riding it though!
I love, love, love the picture of the Mickey Bar!!!
How cool that you got to meet Anita and gang! Your picture together turned out very cute!
You're right -- watching Wishes from the Poly beach was a great way to end your vacation!
Of course I had to squeeze in one last pretzel!A great ending to a wonderful TR I love that you managed to squeeze in one last cream cheese pretzel I can't wait to try one!!!
Yes, a nice flightmate makes a world of difference!!Mini Dis Meet with Anita-very cool...
I know there was something I forgot-cream cheese pretzel......add to list...are they anything like the fried wontons (filled with cream cheese) at Yak & Yeti...?
I always think I'm going to hit my head on BTMRR too...
I wouldn't mind getting stuck on HM...
I think your last night sounds lovely...watching wishes from the Poly...
Wow-nice guy on your flight back-everyone should have such a nice flighmate...
That is so true!Sometimes it takes a little time and distance to get past the disapointment (in your case the weather and your foot pain) to focus on the good times. It is amazing how we take our health and the fact that Florida is sunny for granted isn't it?
I really do enjoy having a car at Disney. I never thought I would but it's so much more convenient and I felt like I had more flexibility.Oh LL, I'm sorry about your feet.
The rain was pretty bad that week, but I had been spoiled. My first three trips only had one day of rain between them.
It was really great meeting you, and I had never been on CoP before so it was really great getting to experience that with a fellow DISSER.
The first trip I took I drove there but used the Disney transportation the rest of the time. The kids got pretty cranky by the end of the day (and so did I!) Since then on my subsequent trips I have used my own car and I don't think I will change that. Even if at some point I decide to fly down instead of drive I think I will rent a car, it is just so much more convenient.
They were playing the Wishes music I believe. I know for sure it wasn't the Water Pageant music. What a fantastic last night! Wishes and the Water Pagent at the same time? Amazing! What music do they play on the beach- the Wishes music or the Water Pagent music?
Glad to head you conquered your fear of Big Thunder. It's one of my faves. (Nice going LL's mom )
I think my taste in food might be closer to your mom's than yours. The cream-cheese-filled prezzle looks nice, but the ice cream sounds more my style.
Looking forward to your final thoughts.
Yes, George was great. And the anticipation for the ride is the worst part. I had a meltdown in the Space Mountain line when I was 13.What a great last day!
I'm glad to hear that your mom treated you to a Mickey bar after your harrowing ride on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. I don't care what anyone else says, I'm with you. The longer I have to wait for a ride, the higher the anticipation, the more nervous and scared I get. Quite frankly, if I could walk on to half these rides, I'd actually ride them!
Sounds like you really had a wonderful last day and I'm glad to hear that you had a great seatmate on the flight home. That makes all the difference in the world doesn't it? Yay for George!
Yes. Tell him I said so.FINALLY caught up! I haven't been on BTMRR in years, and then only at Disneyland... think Jose will give me a Mickey bar if I ride it again in November?
Thank you! What a FUN last day!! Watching wishes from the Poly beach looks so nice. I hate being stuck in the crowd.
Sorry your trip report is over, it was a great read.
Thanks. It was a fun ride! That was ONE FUN LAST DAY FOR SURE!!!! I am so proud of you for riding BTMRR!!!! Way to go girlie!!!! Now, if you were riding with Megan, you would be giggling the whole time at her enthusiasm on that ride!!!! Just remember that next time!!! Can't wait for the final thoughts!!!
Thank you. I had a lot of fun getting those firework pictures. A lot of them came out really nice!I enjoyed hearing about your final day, it sounds like it was a lot of fun. You got some good fireworks pictures.
Thank you. It really did make the flight go by faster! I was so ready to be home at that point so it was nice.Hey Leslie! Glad to see you finished the report, even though I'm a bit late getting to it.
Laughter is so contagious, isn't it?
Awesome fireworks pictures!
And how great that you had an entertaining seatmate on your flight home. Defintely makes the trip pass quickly.
*I'm so glad that I was able to go with two wonderful gals, Jen & Mom. It was so wonderful meeting Jen and exploring Disney with her. I was a little disappointed in Mom & I's time but that is mainly because of my stupid feet. I'd love a re-do trip with Mom someday.
*My feet. My stupid blister filled sore hurting feet. I have this tendency to buy bandaids and blister blockers everytime I go to Walmart. I will never ever ever ever EVER have feet like that. What I should have done was rented a scooter sooner. My feet needed the rest badly. Walking on blisters is not fun at all. I haven't quite decided what my plan of attack is going to be for January in regards to foot care but there will be a plan for sure!
*All Star Music. I can't say anything bad about ASMu. I liked it. It was a great value for your money.
I think I will plan on a rental car from now on. I never thought I would think a rental car was important but you can get so much more done and you have greater flexibility.
