TR: My 25th During Disneyland's 55th

Jason and I went low key this year - just some Mexican food and some margarita's. Here we are enjoying our non-virgin margarita's! :cool1:

28610_600346199540_29906113_34635087_4149631_n.jpg

Cheers! Please excuse the ponytail and running shorts - I went for a run and hadn't cleaned up yet! :scared1:

28610_600346204530_29906113_34635088_6676604_n.jpg

"You better not be eying my drink - get your own margarita!"

Anyways, more updates to come, I promise!

Congrats Jason on the job! Jobs are nice, if you gotta.

That's cute that you celebrate Cinco de Mayo. We love Mexican food, so we totally should have... and margs. Actually, I had the best margarita of my life on our honeymoon at our hotel in San Diego, and only $2 during happy hour.

Getting close to your trip now. The only one of those restaurants we've been to is ESPN, and oddly enough, my Jason didn't love it. I think we kinda got a bad seat, and then he ended up not really liking his meal, but I loved mine! But that's ok, tons of other restaurants for us to try.

TWO MORE WEEKS!

I'm so exicted, Jackie is even more excited she needs a vacation.... BADLY

She also came up with a good idea for her birthday morning. Last time her mom came down she missed out on going on peter pan:headache: So this time we'll get up early and go strait to peter pan so this doesn't happen again. And then we'll do the Fantasyland tour. And after that we'll all go have brunch and mimosas. I'll probably just have coffee, because they don't have irish coffees over there and mimosas are not really my thing. They are a little too girly for me.

That's basically why we celebrated - margaritas! haha You can't beat a cheap awesome drink, $2 is SO cheap! :cool1:

I think I remember that your Jason didn't like ESPN from your TR. Didn't you guys go on a game night where there was an hourly minimum or something? Maybe you can give it another shot the next time you go - I promise it's a pretty fun place to hang out!

I'm so happy our trip is only 13 days away. I've been so overwhelmed with homework and regular work and life that I'm really looking forward to being away from it all in the Happiest Place On Earth for 4 days! :goodvibes

2 weeks from now we'll probably be chilling in the room, taking a nap, eating some snacks, having a few beers and getting ready for an evening in the park. I can't tell you how important these mid-day breaks are, especially when the park is open late. I think the Thursday we are there the park closes at 9 for a grad night. That's ok though. It's open until Midnight Friday and Saturday so getting some extra sleep on Thursday night will be much needed!

Jason told you all a little bit about our plan for my birthday. On Saturday morning we are going to head out early to the parks. My mom really wants to do Fantasyland that morning since she missed out on a lot of those rides at Christmas (including her favorite, Peter Pan!). So we'll hang out in Fantasyland in the morning, maybe do Nemo, perhaps the Matterhorn until brunch at 10:30. I still have to make reservations - I should probably do that tomorrow! We'll have a nice birthday breakfast and then head to DCA. I think we will probably fastpass Soaring and ride Toy Story Mania, maybe see Muppets and a Bugs Life. I know we'll want to hit up the Cove Bar before getting on Grizzly River Rapids! When we get off GRR I think it'll probably be time to head back to the room and rest up for birthday dinner at Naples and more fun in the park! I can't wait!!! :cheer2:

Jason was having a rough, blah day today so I decided to make Mickey pancakes to cheer him up! I reminded him that a week from now we'll be down at his parents house getting ready to leave the next morning! This will be our Disney Eve in 7 days! Here are a couple of pictures of my Mickey Mouse pancakes.

The first side...

Flip!

31200_602504554180_29906113_34695887_3226872_n.jpg

Cheese! Mickey was delicious!

Can you see our Disneyland vacation and my 25th birthday marked on the calendar in the background? ha ha :lmao:

I can't wait for this vacation! Only a few more days to go. :goodvibes I'm going on the kindergarten field trip with the kiddos from school on Friday which should be a ton of fun! Even better, I'm taking Friday as a vacation day so I only have 2 more days of work this week, then Monday and Tuesday of next week, then we're in the Happiest Place on Earth! :cheer2: :cool1:

ONE MORE WEEK!:cool1:

The mickey pancakes were awesome! Just the thing I needed to cheer me up a bit. But next week will be the ultimate cheer upper, a trip to D-land. Nothing really new to report. Jackie has made some awesome word documents for our trip, stuff like checklists on what to bring and do. What made them really cool is that she was able to download the Disney font and install it onto word. She also did a great job of putting tons of cool pictures on there as well. Wish there was some way of posting a file to the board. Oh well.... But we still have a week left so we'll start putting those checklists to good use as we pack everything we need. The next week will be fun, exciting, and excruciating! :rotfl:

I have found this report late but I can't wait to read the TR! You are close to going! I'm about 58 days away from my trip! I just got back from WDW so I'm recovering before we go to DL for the last time for a long time. :(

I'm happy to see other people as excited about Disneyland as I am!! Most people only get excited about WDW. Hope you guys have a fun time! I can't wait for my birthday trip in November. :)

We are so close now! Only two days of work to get through and we are home free! I've read your PTR a couple of days ago and saw that you were in WDW - do you have a TR for that trip? We hope to get to WDW someday...

I'm sorry this next trip will be your last for a while. You never know, things always change and you may be back sooner then you think. :goodvibes

We are so excited! I know we'll have an awesome time and I'm sure time will fly by and November will be here before you know it. :goodvibes

I saw in your signature that you were engaged in Disneyland last November! Congratulations! My husband and I also got engaged in Disneyland and honeymooned there in October of 2008. Check our our honeymoon TR if you are interested.

So we are T-minus 2 days and counting! :cool1: :cheer2:

As soon as I leave work at 4:30 Tuesday afternoon I consider my vacation started!! We are driving down to Fairfield to Jason's parents house and will hopefully get to bed early (haha good luck with that :lmao:). We'll probably watch Finding Nemo and possibly the Bird Cage. It's kind of a random movie to watch I know, but it was on TV the night we packed for our honeymoon, plus it's a hilarious movie, so it's kind of become tradition. :rotfl:

In other news, Jason got his Disney gift card in the mail on Friday. We put enough on his Disney credit card to have $37! :scared1: A lot of that was tuition so I don't feel so bad....But we have $37 more dollars to spend in a few days which is always good! :yay:

I can't wait for Tuesday night!!! :)

Whee you are almost there! So you leave tomorrow!

I know! Its so exciting, right now I'm watching Pirates while packing up. I'm using Jackie's handy dandy checklist she created. It really helps so that we don't forget anything. Especially when I'm helping to pack up. I'm am the most forgetful person when it comes to packing up. We can't wait to get going. jackie has work till 430 so I'll pick her up then and head down to my parents house to pick up my mom. Then we'll leave there bright and early at 4am tomorrow morning! We'll get there around 1030 and the good times will commence!

Sounds very awesome! I can't wait to read your trip report! Wow you guys live pretty close to DL I think about the same as me only north. Tucson is on like a 7 hour drive. I'm so happy for you guys! I love to read TRs!

Per tradition we got up early, really early! This time we got up at 3am and were beyond excited. We were especially excited because this was the first time in 3 years that we were going to see Disneyland without one of the holiday getups. Don't get me wrong I like the Holiday makeovers but I miss my good old fashioned disneyland. Especially the real Hauted Mansion! :hmghost: I might lose a couple people out there but I'm just going to say it. I hate Jack Skellington! I especially hate it that I have not been able to see one of my favorite rides in three years because of the holiday overlay that I find way too creepy. People said you have to see the movie again, and I watched and I hated it as much as when I was a kid. But I digress, we got up super early and packed up the car good and tight!

32100_604414022590_29906113_34769194_5363902_s.jpg

After we got everything into the little Ford Escape that Jackie named Tink we headed off! at 3:47!
32100_604414052530_29906113_34769198_1079827_n.jpg

After an hour and a half or so we hit I-5
32100_604414062510_29906113_34769199_1989912_n.jpg

Around 6 we hit our traditional chevron/McDonalds to fill up our stomachs and our car.
32100_604414067500_29906113_34769200_7009141_n.jpg

A few hours later we hit the grapevine!
32100_604414092450_29906113_34769204_2836028_n.jpg

Then we saw this tree heading into LA, It kinda looked like a hidden mickey! :lmao:
32100_604414152330_29906113_34769212_304976_n.jpg

After 6 and a half hours, we finally saw our exit:woohoo:
32100_604414162310_29906113_34769214_2879770_n.jpg

After we got to the camelot inn, we learned that our room wouldn't be ready for a few hours. But we knew that already so we just got our tickets and heading into the park.
32100_604414177280_29906113_34769216_7448354_n.jpg

Jackie got a quick shot of me looking very happy LOL
32100_604414182270_29906113_34769217_5497673_n.jpg

Once in the park we did our other tradition, fast passing indy before jumping on pirates! I love doing this! it covers the best two rides in the park right off the bat. But after pirates we headed over to the ride I have been obsessing over, the Haunted Mansion!
32100_604414222190_29906113_34769222_7535571_n.jpg

After that I got dragged over to winnie the pooh because it was right over there. One the way over we saw something that I've never seen before. Splash mountain drained for repair work
32100_604414227180_29906113_34769223_3420505_n.jpg

After that my mom and I were getting a little hungary, so we headed over to main street and decided to pick up a couple corndogs because we hadn't had them in forever.
32100_604462425590_29906113_34772284_6376509_n.jpg

But to our dismay they were ten times greasier then we remember! We didn't like them very much at all. I guess we just expected too much of them. I like corn dogs at the state fair much better. After that we walked around the park some taking in the beautiful day. A little bit into our tour we saw some cute kids from middle school doing a tribute to Michael Jackson. It was fun.
32100_604414257120_29906113_34769229_4087017_n.jpg

After walking around and going on a few rides we decided that we needed a break. So we went to the best place for a break we could think of, THE UVA BAR!
32100_604414262110_29906113_34769230_2829826_n.jpg

We also reviewed our fastpass situation to plan the rest of the day out!
32100_604414267100_29906113_34769231_658265_n.jpg

And I had to do my Captain Jack face... "WHY IS THE RUM GONE!" even though it wasn't gone yet!
32100_604414272090_29906113_34769232_6681373_n.jpg

After a couple drinks mom really wanted to ride the Grizzley river rapids, and we where happy to oblige. Its really funny because this ride is themed after the American river which is right by our house. We go to the American river all the time. So our big joke was that we drove 6 and a half hours to go home. HAHA
Here we are on the ride!
32100_604459511430_29906113_34772023_5472870_n.jpg

We got soaked! But we wanted to go on one more ride before we headed back, so we went on mike and sully to the rescue. A much better ride then the superstar limo for those of you that remember. The cast members we talked to said they used to call it Superlame Labor. HAHA!
After that we headed back to our room. For those of you who don't know the Camelot its a great place to stay. Good clean rooms, its right next to the park, and its right next to the McDonald's which is super clutch for late night cravings.
32100_604459526400_29906113_34772025_7063468_n.jpg

32100_604459541370_29906113_34772027_5878805_n.jpg

And we got a room with a view...
32100_604459556340_29906113_34772030_5419565_n.jpg

After we checked in we settled in for a nap. Coming up..... BACK TO THE PARK!

I'm in! Soaking in all of your trip details to try to make the time before my trip go by a bit faster!

Ahh, haven't been on the dis much lately, too busy studying :(

Anyway, true to form, I see alcohol is present, lol. I like your Mickey tree, although, it's a bit of a stretch. Must have been getting a bit delirious from the long drive!

Haha, those kids performing are so cute/nerdy, but I bet you they think it's totally awesome.

Your hotel looks nice, might have to try it next time! Hope to hear more soon :)

So we all took a long nap, because we had been up since 3am! It was really refreshing. For those of you who go often taking a break in the middle of the day is really good. Its the only way that I can get to the end of the day at disneyland. If I don't I'd never make it, I'd just pass out right in the middle of main street. But after we showered and were refreshed we decided to head back over to Downtown town disney in order to get some early dinner. On the way over we saw some cute duckies!
32100_604459576300_29906113_34772033_5873427_n.jpg

Jackie was worried because they were so close to S. Harbor Blbd. But I assured her that mommy duck knows how to keep them safe and that made her feel better :)
So walking over to DD we decided to eat at our favorite place down there, the espn zone
32100_604459601250_29906113_34772037_2185830_n.jpg

And I was excited to learn that espn zone had add new bigger tvs above the bar. Exactly what that place needs! MORE TVS!
32100_604459606240_29906113_34772038_3868411_n.jpg

For dinner we all split sliders and Cheese fries. The appitizers there are so big we can all split them very easily. And they are sooooo goood too. After filling our bellies with food and drink we decided to head back over to Disneyland. And we used the monorail.
32100_604459611230_29906113_34772039_4247426_n.jpg

And we took the orange monorail. I liked it because it was San Francisco Giants colored :)
32100_604459621210_29906113_34772041_7418079_n.jpg

Our hotel from the monorail
32100_604459641170_29906113_34772044_3392737_n.jpg

After we got back into the park we decided to head over to BTMRR to use our fast passes. On the way over we got cut off by the end of the celebrate street parade.
32100_604459671110_29906113_34772048_6362465_n.jpg

We have never like this parade at all, it not even close to the parade of dreams. And we hate the anime style disney character balloons. If you've seen the parade you know what I mean. Plus getting kids to come and dance just seems like they are trying too hard. But after getting through the parade we finally got over to BTMRR.
The classic T-rex :)
32100_604459676100_29906113_34772049_4645560_n.jpg

We are on the train!
32100_604459681090_29906113_34772050_7898645_n.jpg

Needless to say we had a blast! This is one of my favorites, the goat with dynamite is awesome! After that we headed over to the jungle cruise because we hadn't ridden it yet.
32100_604459696060_29906113_34772052_3369880_n.jpg

And as everyone here knows, the Jungle Cruise is kinda a crap-shoot. You can get a good captain, or a bad captain. In this case we got the worst captain I've ever seen! He didn't talk very loud and wasn't into it at all. He just went through the motions. I swear I felt like jumping up and stealing the mike. "let me handle this dude, I know the script..." LOL
After that is was off to the Haunted Mansion! God I was so happy to have my original Haunted Mansion back!
32100_604459701050_29906113_34772053_8219294_n.jpg

OMG it was sooo fun! "this chamber has no windows... and no doors...." HAHAH I LOVE! After that we head over to buzz light year because we had a fast pass.
32100_604459711030_29906113_34772054_5071046_n.jpg

Let it be known, That I am the master in this group. outcome of a video game upbringing. But for some reason, for the first time ever... MY MOM WON!:scared1: HAHAHA she took it really seriously and we were just having fun I guess! After that we had to ride star tours simply because they are changing it soon and we need to get our fill. I have to say it was kinda depressing in there because I remember when it first opened the line was like 90 minutes. Now its always empty and you and always walk onto it.
32100_604459735980_29906113_34772058_4091216_n.jpg

Oh well, I guess that is why there are updating it. But change sucks! LOL
