Per tradition we got up early, really early! This time we got up at 3am and were beyond excited. We were especially excited because this was the first time in 3 years that we were going to see Disneyland without one of the holiday getups. Don't get me wrong I like the Holiday makeovers but I miss my good old fashioned disneyland. Especially the real Hauted Mansion!
I might lose a couple people out there but I'm just going to say it. I hate Jack Skellington! I especially hate it that I have not been able to see one of my favorite rides in three years because of the holiday overlay that I find way too creepy. People said you have to see the movie again, and I watched and I hated it as much as when I was a kid. But I digress, we got up super early and packed up the car good and tight!
After we got everything into the little Ford Escape that Jackie named Tink we headed off! at 3:47!
After an hour and a half or so we hit I-5
Around 6 we hit our traditional chevron/McDonalds to fill up our stomachs and our car.
A few hours later we hit the grapevine!
Then we saw this tree heading into LA, It kinda looked like a hidden mickey!
After 6 and a half hours, we finally saw our exit
After we got to the camelot inn, we learned that our room wouldn't be ready for a few hours. But we knew that already so we just got our tickets and heading into the park.
Jackie got a quick shot of me looking very happy LOL
Once in the park we did our other tradition, fast passing indy before jumping on pirates! I love doing this! it covers the best two rides in the park right off the bat. But after pirates we headed over to the ride I have been obsessing over, the Haunted Mansion!
After that I got dragged over to winnie the pooh because it was right over there. One the way over we saw something that I've never seen before. Splash mountain drained for repair work
After that my mom and I were getting a little hungary, so we headed over to main street and decided to pick up a couple corndogs because we hadn't had them in forever.
But to our dismay they were ten times greasier then we remember! We didn't like them very much at all. I guess we just expected too much of them. I like corn dogs at the state fair much better. After that we walked around the park some taking in the beautiful day. A little bit into our tour we saw some cute kids from middle school doing a tribute to Michael Jackson. It was fun.
After walking around and going on a few rides we decided that we needed a break. So we went to the best place for a break we could think of, THE UVA BAR!
We also reviewed our fastpass situation to plan the rest of the day out!
And I had to do my Captain Jack face... "WHY IS THE RUM GONE!" even though it wasn't gone yet!
After a couple drinks mom really wanted to ride the Grizzley river rapids, and we where happy to oblige. Its really funny because this ride is themed after the American river which is right by our house. We go to the American river all the time. So our big joke was that we drove 6 and a half hours to go home. HAHA
Here we are on the ride!
We got soaked! But we wanted to go on one more ride before we headed back, so we went on mike and sully to the rescue. A much better ride then the superstar limo for those of you that remember. The cast members we talked to said they used to call it Superlame Labor. HAHA!
After that we headed back to our room. For those of you who don't know the Camelot its a great place to stay. Good clean rooms, its right next to the park, and its right next to the McDonald's which is super clutch for late night cravings.
And we got a room with a view...
After we checked in we settled in for a nap. Coming up..... BACK TO THE PARK!
