Taste of Africa was part of Summer Nightastic and was only at Ak for a few weeks last summer. That was the first night and it was clear that the managers were out and watching to see how it went. I wonder if they will try it again??? I think a cooler time like Oct may work better.

I'll have to see pictures when I get home, but I wanted to comment on this. I just saw a couple of days ago that it is being held the 9th through 24th of July. Sadly, we will miss it.

i was gonna say i cant believe she pretty much took a picture of that ladies rear without her or someone else seeing her.


wonder what she would have said if she turned around.

OMG, OMG!!!!!! See that word: "Tamasha"???? That is a Kazakh word!!! It means "wonderful" or "reallly amazing"!!!! How cool!!!!! While perhaps some African word, or not, it IS definitely one we know and even still use at home!!

That is about the same time they did last year. I guess they felt it was successful.

It would be nicer if they did during cooler weather. Some of the cooking vendors were soooo hot it was ridiculous.

Maybe if they do it in 2012 I will try to make it again, the AP side effect may be in full swing again.

ETA- It is exactly the same dates. I wonder if the dates are significant in Africa???

The beauty of a zoom lens. She really was far enough away that if she did turn around she would not see me.

It first ran last year as part of Summer Nightastic. It does sound like it might be an annual summer event.

i think it would be fun,and the food prices seem pretty good...wonder how big the portions where.

They were appetizer portions kind of like Food and Wine. Enough for a taste but you would need several for a full meal. If you use the links to see 2010 Food and Wine I have food porn there so you can see portion size.

It is so great that Disney puts so much into every event. All the CM managers hanging around were checking it out carefully to make sure everything went smoothly. It was Tamasha.
