Booked my stay at the BWI! Switched from AKL. Got a great deal with Deluxe Dining. Can't wait!

Thanks I did not realize ther were 2 quiet pools. I have also read that there is a store at the BW. Does anybody know if they sell basic stuff like bottled water, milk eggs, cereal. I don't plan on cooking other than maybe a bowl of cereal or some hard boiled egss in the morning. Would I be better off ordering from garden grocer. I did that this year and though it was a little pricey.
I remember seeing Milk and Cereal for sale at the Screen Door General Store and I think they also sold Eggs, however I am not 100% sure about that. They also sold bottled water however they were sold as single bottles from their fridge and were not sold in a case of 12 or 24.

The selection of groceries was pretty decent at the BW. I am near certain there were eggs, but not 100% positive.

Garden Grocer probably has very similar prices as to Disney on property - perhaps slightly cheaper - but they also have the delivery charge, so it might be a wash/even more expensive if you are just ordering a few basic things. GG also has a $40 minimum.

And if you have an AP, they might still be doing the 10% off purchases. :thumbsup2

More pics - sorry if any are repeats!

Not the BW, obviously, but a view from the nearby path to Epcot!

I just read on the restaurant board that Kouzzina will be closed from Nov 29 - Dec 14 for refurbishment and here are all the details.

Kouzzina by Cat Cora will undergo refurbishment from Nov. 29-Dec. 14 and reopening Dec. 15 to add new signage, new outdoor seating and a new merchandise area. During the closure, guests can enjoy breakfast a la carte breakfast at Flying Fish Cafe as well as regular dinner offerings at Disney’s BoardWalk. The pizza window will remain open during the refurbishment. When the restaurant reopens, inside the lobby, a special arrival awaits telling the story of Cat Cora and the interior of the restaurant will showcase a functioning olive oil display.

Getting closer to our stay- 37 days!!.
Still a little worried about the bus situation...
Then I remembered that we are driving, so we have an alternative!

Just switched to the BWV today from the WL. We were researching hotels for a bigger family trip next year with my Grandmother and started to fall in love with the BW.

For the heck of it I checked and with the 40 % off we could get a 1 bedroom Villa at the BW for the week we are down there in Nov. Switched from a Courtyard view at the WL, and dropped the QSDP and decided we will pay OOP this year and see how that goes for us.

I am sooooo glad I found this thread. Getting very excited now. My son is starting to get more into Epcot and Hollywood Studios over the Magic Kingdom so I think this will work out well for us !

I think you will love BWV! We haven't stayed anywhere else. Our first visit in 1997 was booked directly through Disney with no discounts and we had 3 1-bedroom villas - that's when we fell in love with BWV. The next 2 trips I rented points and save bundles. Our upcoming trip was also booked via renting points and even tho free dining is being offered, I saved so much more thru DVC. We will have a boardwalk view in a 2-bedroom and I am so excited!! :woohoo: Hope you enjoy your trip!!

My DS and I will be staying at the BW in January for the Marathon Weekend!
(We wanted to be extra close to EPCOT, and love this resort every time we stay there:goodvibes)

Just booked a split stay for the spring that ends w/ a stay at BWI! So excited to stay at a new resort and in a different part of WDW (we usually stay at a monorail resort). DD looked through resort photos and decided that she wanted to stay where she could use the clown pool - yes all you clown-fearing people, the 10-year old wants to be spit out by the clown!

Heres one I hope this is how to post I am trying to remember from awhile back when I posted some pictures

Do any of you make room requests when staying at the Boardwalk? Or are all of the rooms equally as good as the others. For instance, are certain rooms closer to the lobby/ entrance to the Boardwalk than others? I would love to hear if you request certain rooms and for what reason, or if you just wing it and take what you get! :goodvibes

Staying at BWV on 12/12 - 12/16 with Garden/Pool View. Is there any partial views of the boardwalk in a 1br. I've heard there are partial views of the boardwalk if your staying in a studio.

Will be at BWV with the whole family (10 of us) from 7th - 13th of November :cool1:

Anyone else going to be there?

Dan

In my planning, I had written down a room request that I'd seen someone else mention here -- courtyard view facing Epcot (this is for a standard room). Time got away from us before the trip and I never got around to sending in the request - my bad! We ended up on the third floor in a room just above the Garden Suites so our view was the roof peak of that. It wasn't all that attractive. As we settled in I started to notice some housekeeping issues with the room so long story short, we later went to the lobby to tell them about it and they switched us to another standard room, this time on the 5th floor and as luck would have it, with exactly the view I was planning on requesting and never got around to! This room was also much closer to the elevators (the initial room was a bit of a walk -- the halls are quite long and windy so if you want to be close to the elevator you may want to request that). Next time we stay there we'll definitely put in a request in time.

P.S. Our stay at BWI was fantastic and I can't wait to go back!

Awesome! Thanks, I will put in a request to be close to the elevators. After a long day at the parks, its always nice to have a closer room!

Staying at BWV in a 1br on 12/12 - 12/16 with a preferred water/garden view. I'm currently on waitlist for BW view. My question is are there any partial BW views that you can get that are considered water/garden view. I know they have the Village Green views that have partial view of BW but am told only studio's are in that area. I also heard something about being above Wyland Gallery with high floor garden view was really good too. Anyone have any info on this.
