I thought it was a dinner jacket. It looks like it was the Prince and Princess dinner.

I couldn't see the picture that Sarah was referring to when I responded on my phone. You're right, it was the princess dinner, I thought she was talking about the one where the waiter was carrying him.

I'm loving all these intros :)

It will be my mother Jeanette, 56, and myself Pam, 29. She is my official Disney buddy. It is actually thanks to her that we have fallen in love with cruising. In 2011 she convinced me to take time out of our WDW vacation to see a DVC presentation. I had always just walked past the booths, who wants to take time out of vacation... Well of course I joined that day. I had extra points and asked her if she'd like to go on another vacation with me and it was her that suggested a cruise. I had never ever been interested in cruising but she wanted to do one so we did and absolutely fell in love. That first one was March 2012, a 5 night on the Dream. We just did a 4 night on the Wonder 3 weeks ago, and will be on the Fantasy in three weeks for an Eastern. A 5 night on the Wonder is scheduled for next January and this lovely WBTA will be our 5th. So our love of Disney started with WDW but has quickly grown to embrace DCL. Mom is an events organizer/party planner and I am a nurse. This is going to be a fun 18 months of planning!

So I was thinking(something I do... not often) those who did Ta's before and newbies, and we have LOTS of time, why dont we introduce ourselves.
looks like I go first:headache:

Im Ann ... married to Howard(time of sailing 44years).
we are both LMT's( licenced massage therapists).
Howard is an Asststant Director of a Massage school. I work at the same school but... Im the Bodywork Instructor. Have 3 adult kids with lots of grandkids.
Live in Lake Havasu City, AZ. Middle of the hottest desert in the US !

My signature says the someone I love has Parkinson's... it's Howard. So, if you see him a bit wobbley, or a bit unsteady and see his tremors... it's Parkinson's. He was diagnosed 3 months before our WBTA 2010. Im telling this because some people dont know how to handle it.He's fine...a bitslow or wobbley, and makes the best martinis... "shaken" not stirred !:lmao:
And looking foward to meeting everyone....again !

Ok Ann... move along !!!:rolleyes1

I'm Lorri, married to Pete (6 weeks shy of 22 years at time of sailing). We live in Kingston, NY - 90 miles north of New York City and 45 miles south of Albany in the historic Hudson Valley. Pete has lived here his entire life, I grew up in Queens and moved here 24 1/2 years ago.

I've been the accounting manager for a collectible doll company for 12 years and Pete is a police officer for the city of Kingston for the past 24 years. We have one son, Joe, who just turned 18 this past Friday. Joe will not be sailing with us.

This cruise will be our 6th. We love the longer cruises, especially the sea days! You can usually find me at the adult pool with the rest of my group.

We love all things Disney! The first time either of us ever went to WDW was on our honeymoon and fell in love with it. Most of our vacations are Disney of some kind. We have made some awesome friends that have become family through cruising on DCL.

Ann, my grandfather had Parkinson's, I know what that disease does and how it affects those who are afflicted with it - hugs to you and Howard.

We are Joe and Maureen from Upper Chichester, PA about 5 minutes from the DE state line. We will be married almost 38 years when we cruise. We have 2 adult daughters which some of you meet on our 2008 double dip. Joe and I are both still working he is a supervisor for the water company and I do payroll for a a school district. Hoping to retire within the next 4-5 years :cool1:

I am the chatty one Joe is the quite one after all opposites do attract don't they?

This will be out 8th cruise our 7th on the Magic. We are DVC members since 2008 and have been to WDW several time with a trip planned for this April.

Looking forward to seeing old friends and making new ones.

Yeah but is he life size???:lmao:

Nope, he's quite small! And I won't be taking him everywhere with me either. ;)

I mean, look at him, will you - he's almost as tall as that bridge! :rotfl:

LOL! He looks like Godzilla, ready to destroy the city.

I recognize that gorgeous guy in the picture in your signature, he was the love of my life until my Hubby came along ... I still love him though

Karen where have you been hiding? Glad to be sailing with you again! :goodvibes

I am the chatty one Joe is the quite one after all opposites do attract don't they?

Yes they do! I would say the same for me & my husband. I am as outgoing & extroverted as they get and he is the exact opposite. His idea of a perfect night is going to a hockey game....alone! :confused3

I often joke that if we ever broke up he would become a recluse. ;) But truly, I love him just the way he is! :lovestruc

Ok I am not good at this....
My name is Crystal (41 currently will have birthday on the cruise) & my husband Trent (42). We have been married for 6 years. We are from black hills of South Dakota. This will be our 5th cruise...gold finally! We have no children except for our 3 dogs (Disney, Siberia and Chestnut) and our cat (MGM). We lost our older dog (Magic) this last year.

We are so excited to see everyone again :cool1:

Chris, I've never seen this side of you. Is this the beginning of a kinder, gentler Chris? (For the newbies.....No sarcasm EVER comes into play in these DIScussions! :rotfl2::rotfl2: Just saying.........)

Haha, never fear, Deb...there is no such thing. :rotfl2:

I lost my filter years ago - my guess is it's sitting somewhere at WDW, maybe under the track at Space Mountain or in the basement of the Tower of Terror.

You should know by now that my thoughts go from brain to mouth in a matter of milliseconds. :)

I went along to see Donny & Marie show at Glasgow, and my friend and I were chatting to Donny's staff (i saw he had a badge of Donny with AAA) and the staff realised that we are deaf and took us to backstage to meet Donny!before the show started. I was gobsmacked and when I met him and he used ASL, it was best night ever!!
What a sweet story!

Woody

Im Ann ... married to Howard(time of sailing 44years)....

Great idea, Ann, and I'm really looking forward to seeing you two again! It's great to get a profile of everyone!

My name is Kimberly (to save you the ask, yes, I do go by Kimberly, not Kim), and as you may be able to figure out from my screen name, I live in the four seasons of Ohio.

My first DCL cruise was the 2008 Double Dip Delight. It was very special as we made it a three-generation cruise with my at the time 76 year old grandmother and my mother. Grandma had so many firsts on that cruise, including cruising, seeing the Caribbean Sea, and eating lobster (who knew?!). I think the highlight for her was being with the dolphins at Discovery Cove in Mexico. She's always had a fascination for dolphins and always loved watching them in the ocean when she used to go to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina annually. Although my grandmother and I are pretty close, especially after I had to temporarily move in with her for 9 months to care for her, as a whole, my family isn't super close, so to have had this quality time with the three of us was indescribably precious!

A few weeks after getting off of that cruise, the 2010 WBTA bookings opened up, and I knew I had to go, and it was a delightful way to commemorate my 40th birthday! It was such an amazing experience, and I cannot wait to have yet another spectacular holiday in my memory bank!

Several of us were trying to have a 2008 Double Dip Delight reunion on the Fantasy last year. Unfortunately, I lost my job, so I had to cancel. Well on the 2010 WBTA, I had two "friends" who traveled with me to be playdates with our fellow DISers. Twin sisters Anita and Ivanna Cruz would hang out at my Fish Extender, then they would be picked up for some unknown adventures. They were so popular that they were gone 85% of the time! They may have had a better time than *I* had! Well since I couldn't go on the Fantasy cruise, Melodie (MagicMe) took Anita in my place. Here's a picture of Anita with Mickey Mouse from that cruise. It was a nice feeling to know that although I couldn't be there, I wasn't forgotten. The twins may make a reappearance in 2014 to play with you, too.

For this cruise, technically I'm solo, but with already knowing so many people here and knowing I'll meet so many new and wonderful friends here, it's next to impossible to feel alone! :grouphug: Now just so you think I'm crazy, I'm also thinking my Elf on the Shelf, Marci, may have to tag along. She's not your typical Elf as she's a bit naughty at times. I promise she won't eat any Mickey Bars! :mickeybar

As for my personal bio, life hasn't turned out as desired, so unfortunately I'm DH-less and DKid-less. My favorite Disney character is Tink because she is has a little spunk in her yet she's sweet. :tink: I am addicted to Pinterest, like to cook, love to do crafts and scrapbook, and thoroughly enjoy recreational cake and cupcake decorating. A friend of mine who loves owls just had a birthday, so I made her some owl cupcakes. For the non chocolate-peanut butter lovers, I also made raspberry-filled lemon cupcakes decorated as a flower. The owls came out so darn cute, if I say so myself!!! Thank you, Pinterest!

I just got my first DSLR camera in December, so I'm trying to learn the art of operating that as I love to stage beautiful photographs. My friends make fun of me that I cannot just take a picture of an object, rather I have to stage it with an appropriate background or with other related things! (Pictures above prove me to be guilty as charged!) I don't mind them laughing at me because I do it to myself! Is it bad when you have a title of a scrapbooking page in mind to correlate with an event and require your friends to use props and pose for a photograph to bring the title to life???:confused3 ;)

Professionally speaking, I'm a project manager for technology-related projects. That is I am a project manager when I'm working! I'm still looking for a job from the loss last year. So my intentions are 1000% to go on this voyage, yet there is still an unknown about having a job in place and having the time off approved. So prayers for all of that to happen....SOON...are welcome!

Okay...who's up next for an intro?!!!

So I was thinking(something I do... not often) those who did Ta's before and newbies, and we have LOTS of time, why dont we introduce ourselves.

OK, I'll play :wave2:.....We are: Pat (turning 53 tomorrow :crazy2:) and Larry (a very young 66). We live in the Pocono region of NE PA. Larry retired about 10 yrs. ago from his job as a civil service electronics specialist (DoD), but I still work (part-time by choice) in admissions and social services in a rehab/skilled nursing facility. Most of my career involved working with adults with disabilities, but I really love working with the elderly now. Larry's mother is 91, with Alzheimers and Parkinsons, so we can certainly relate to what many others are going through.

Our daughter, Jessica, is 28 and has lived in Austin TX for the past five years. Larry and I love Austin and may relocate there someday; however, we are not in the position to move while his mother still needs our oversight. Jess accompanied us on the last WBTA but isn't sure if she'll be on this one...:lmao::lmao::lmao:yeah, right. I can almost guarantee she will be! ::yes:: She is single, works for a major video game company, and has no interest in settling down anytime soon (rotten kid...she knows I want grandbabies :flower3:). Actually, she's a wonderful daughter, and at least I have grand-gerbils.

This will be our 9th cruise and 4th Disney one (two other TAs and the 2012 EBPC). Although you could probably consider the Big Red Boat as our actual first Disney cruise (I think Jess was 5). Larry and I were married almost 33 yrs. ago in St. Thomas while on a Carnival cruise, back in the Dark Ages before destination weddings were called that! Clearly it was a good move, as we have been happily cruising through life together ever since! (I know, soooo sappy )

We're going away for a few days to celebrate my birthday....I can't imagine how many pages I'll have to catch up on by Sunday! :surfweb:

Happy Birthday Debra!!!

Hi, I am Susan and I am a DISaholic..:thumbsup2

My DH is Scott and I have 2 sons ( who will NOT be on this cruise) Geoff (oldest) is a political organizer..which is fancy words for work for a canadidate when one is running then sits and rests and waits for the next campaign. We have been DVC members since 1993..Old Key West. So many, many times to WDW - we are also AP holders and very hooked on the game in MK, DL we have been a few time. What a wonderful experience and memory for you guys!!! That's simply awesome!

Lorri, I've seen you around the DIS for years, and to this day, whenever I quickly glaze over your avatar, I think it's a backside photo of a woman in a bikini bottom!! :rotfl: It's quite a trick to my eyes!

We're going away for a few days to celebrate my birthday....I can't imagine how many pages I'll have to catch up on by Sunday! :surfweb:

Also, we might have to hook up on Pinterest to share Pins! Thanks for cupcake compliment, too.

And to think, for 3+ years, I thought it was K-I-I-I-M-B-E-R-L-E-E-E-E-E-E-E

:)

Oh yeah....I'm that too! :goodvibes

I'm not surprised, as if I know my Osmond stats correctly, one of the Osmond brothers is Deaf.

I'm also glad you asked to have the shows interpreted. :) Hopefully I'll be much more fluent by then.

Hi, I'm Glenn. I'm the quiet half of su_kraft and Buckeye Goofy. Well, quiet until you get to know me, then i often don't shut up. My DW Sue has been writing the formal intro for 45 minutes now, with all the details from birth until now. Well, at least all the details since our first Disney trip. Stay tuned. :)

And like Kimberly, I'm proud to be a Buckeye!

Glad to see so many friends from 2010, looking forward to meeting new ones!

Hmmm, i wonder; how much flak am I going to catch?
