Guess what guys! Just googled. There is more than one Kirby Bear out there! Same size, but not the same! One has his own FB page...
Haven't pasted link as not sure of forum current rules....but am getting concerned

There could be a whole sloth of Kirby bears out there, that we don't know about

Scared!

:-)

So I was thinking(something I do... not often) those who did Ta's before and newbies, and we have LOTS of time, why dont we introduce ourselves.
looks like I go first:headache:

Im Ann ... married to Howard(time of sailing 44years).
we are both LMT's( licenced massage therapists).
Howard is an Asststant Director of a Massage school. I work at the same school but... Im the Bodywork Instructor. Have 3 adult kids with lots of grandkids.
Live in Lake Havasu City, AZ. Middle of the hottest desert in the US !

My signature says the someone I love has Parkinson's... it's Howard. So, if you see him a bit wobbley, or a bit unsteady and see his tremors... it's Parkinson's. He was diagnosed 3 months before our WBTA 2010. Im telling this because some people dont know how to handle it.He's fine...a bitslow or wobbley, and makes the best martinis... "shaken" not stirred !:lmao:
And looking foward to meeting everyone....again !

Ok Ann... move along !!!:rolleyes1

Really looking forward to sailing with you lovely amazing people again :grouphug:

And cafe con leche helps too!! :drinking1
My absolute favorite

I was thinking more of a "go to" list rather than a set time. Like, if you had a math problem you were stuck on, you could call Mandy or me.

This was about tutoring help-
I was thinking more along the lines of office hours/availabilty. I don't mind being able to help, but do not want to be on call. I know dd12 will have to have some time for schoolwork, so was thinking about just posting when we would be doing ours. Then off for fun.

I know Brent Davies was on the Fantasy in December. Husband and I had our picture taken with him. I love his voice! Would love to see him back on the Magic!

Which cruise were you on? Maybe we have already met?

Brent was really nice. On our cruise he mixed up his days and got ready for pirate night the day before.

We actually had some kind of real Princess on our cruise. Special cast member with her all the time and she brought her two dogs out late one night. Sat and played with her kids and them before she was "protected" and escorted up the lifts. I must have looked dangerous. Nope- just missing my dog.

DD12 missed her so much that she has declared she doesn't want to go on vacation ever again. Counting on her getting over that in the next 1 1/2 years.

That is very funny! Chuckled for quite a bit over that one Woody :-)
I am amazed at Kirby.

But sad to say it seems not unusual, as I have heard similar stories.
Can't believe how the aeroplane allowed it. Did they pay for a third seat?

Ryanair would not allow it, would they UK peops?!

Lyn

I wonder about that too....

here's a photo of kirby and hazel at dinner. We're all in the background watching her as she asks if she can take a photo with him. Lol

Lyn, that is the one and only Kirby Bear from our cruise. He set up his own facebook page after his WBTA. Although I think he set it up with a little help from another cheeky WBTAer but that is another story!!,

So fear not, he is the only giant bear that I know of that likes to annoy people in the middle of the Atlantic!!!

I'm Chasity. Gus and I will have been together over 14 years by this cruise. We are in our mid 30's. Have no kids yet but take care of my 92 year old Gma, who lives with us and has dementia. We own a small pizzeria in Southern California which Gus runs and I have worked for local government for the past 13 years.
This will be our 2nd WBTA and 6th Disney cruise. We have been DVC members since 2005 and are also Disneyland annual passholders! Oh, we are also members of the Magic Castle in Hollywood if any of you are ever out this way and want to go. Gus is a total magic nerd and will perform on demand. :wizard:

I'm Pat, my DH is Dennis, and we celebrated our 3rd anniversary back in October, though we've been together almost 13 years.

We live in Warner Robins, GA where Dennis is a civil service wonk at Robins Air Force Base. He is retired AF, with something like 30+ years of service (active duty and reserves). My "career" is more complicated. I have a Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology, emphasis on learning and memory. I taught at various colleges for over 10 years, taught middle school math for 11 years, and currently work as a receptionist for a veterinarian. I've worked lots of different jobs in between, over the years, but my true love is dog training, though I don't get a lot of calls for that around here for various reasons. Anyway...

We have six canine kids (no humans), all rescues and all different breeds - 3 from rescue groups, one from a high-kill shelter, one whose people went into a nursing home, and one who was a stray brought into our clinic. :dogdance::dogdance::dogdance:

I was born and raised in Orlando, so I'm a native Disney junkie. Dennis became one after he met me, but he has been hooked from the first moment he set foot there. We try to go to WDW at least once a year for our anniversary. We took a 4-night DCL cruise for our honeymoon and loved it! The 2014 will be our 4th cruise (all DCL) and our 2nd TA. We had such a fabulous time in 2011, I knew we'd have to go again, somehow, some way.

We have some family issues going on (my mom, who, next to Dennis is my best friend - has early stage Alzheimer's :worried: ) but I'm hopeful that the planets will align in our favor for this trip. ::yes::

So I was thinking(something I do... not often) those who did Ta's before and newbies, and we have LOTS of time, why dont we introduce ourselves.

I am Chris (35, soon to be 36) and post on behalf of myself and my DP Jeremy (34, soon to be 35). We have been together for almost six years and currently live in St. Louis, MO. Jeremy was a Disney fan before me and has somehow managed to turn me into a bonafide freak. :lmao:

We have been on 2 cruises previously (both DCL) - our first ever was the WBTA in 2011. As you can see by my signature, we spend a lot of time at Disney Parks when we can and someday hope to become DVC members.

I was in marketing for over ten years and last year made a great leap and completely switched careers. I am in healthcare IT now (work in building and maintaining electronic medical records). Jeremy has worked for 12 years in mutual fund operations for one of the country's largest brokerage firms, headquartered here in STL.

We have booked the WBTA in 2014 with every intention of going - there are some personal issues that may put a crimp in that (a possible relocation in the coming year or so), but as of now we are going full steam ahead as if we are about to board the plane to Barcelona this afternoon. :)

As I mentioned, the WBTA in 2011 was our first DCL cruise (well, cruise period) and we made a lot of great friends on the journey that we still keep in touch with today, as you have been able to glean from posts here. It's a great group of fun people and we are looking forward to sailing with old friends and new ones again soon.

This post likely does not reflect my snarky and sarcastic nature, as PFlamingo and others can attest to. You'll have to wait for that in person. :)

You guys all make me very nervous. I don't know what I am having for dinner tonight, much less what tastings I want to do or what hotel I want to stay in 18 months from now (if we wind up going at all)!! You all are freaking me out! :scared1:

I am Annemarie and my DP lurking around here somewhere is Hazel. We are 37 and 35 and we will celebrate 12 years of being together next month and live in Kent in the UK with our two cats Bob and Poppy.

Hazel and I have both worked in childcare for past 18 years or so and for the past three years have run our own home daycare business, where we look after 6 small people under 2.5 years every day !!!

We have been visiting WDW for many years for our holidays, then two years ago discovered DCL with our first ever cruise, which was the WBTA 2011. Since then we have been hooked. I think it was partly because the Disney Magic is a beautiful ship, the WBTA was a wonderful journey, but mostly it was made magical by all of the people here that welcomed us not the group before the cruise and during the cruise we met some amazing people that we have been friends with ever since.

We have now taken two Disney cruises plus a RCI cruise, with another two DCL cruises to take this year.

We became DVC members in September 2012 and are looking forward to being "Welcomed Home" for the first time in September.

That's pretty much us, work, rest and Disney is our lives and we love every single minute of it and the best bit is that we get to share it with all of you :) :)

Gus will definitely have to put on a show for us.

I know, I didn't plan our Miami lodging post cruise until about a month before last time. I love the idea of staying in the same place and bussing over to the ship together for convenience, I have no idea how much time before the cruise we will be in Barcelona so don't want to reserve anything.

We are Jenn (43 at cruise), Jim (44) and Billy (6 at cruise) from Northern California. We took our first Disney cruise in December on the EBPC and loved it. Billy wanted to stay in the clubs the entire time, didn't even want to go swimming much.
I have loved Disney for a long time, but we only visit every 3-4 years, even with Disneyland being just a 7hr drive away.

We are traveling with my father, Bob (83) who lives in Virginia. He says he has always wanted to see Barcelona, so I convinced him to join us. He is retired Navy MD, worked admin his entire career but did some interesting things like submarine medicine, Antarctica station, and research on Deep Sea Living (SeaLab) He can find a topic of mutual interest with anyone, and loves to meet new people.

We are down on deck 1, 1039 and 1037

Chris, I've never seen this side of you. Is this the beginning of a kinder, gentler Chris? (For the newbies.....No sarcasm EVER comes into play in these DIScussions! :rotfl2::rotfl2: Just saying.........)

That's pretty much us, work, rest and Disney is our lives and we love every single minute of it and the best bit is that we get to share it with all of you :) :)

Everyone who has met you and Hazel feel the same way! :thumbsup2

My name is Debra (55 years young this Sat.), live in N.C., and have been married to my husband and very best friend, Rick:lovestruc, for almost 32 1/2 years. We are so truly blessed with two wonderful sons (28 & 23 years old), and two awesome granddogs!!!!

Our first venture into the "Disney" world was on our honeymoon where we visited WDW (when it was only the Magic Kingdom then!.....I'm kind of dating myself!) I was immediately hooked! Since then, we have been to WDW too many times to count. We've been on 7 cruises (all with DCL) with the WBTA 2014 bing our 8th!!! Undoubtedly, WBTA 2011 being our favorite! This DIS group being more than half the reason why we had so much fun (a special shout out to Table 18!)). We have been DVC members since 1996.

My husband is retired from law enforcement as an criminal investigator. He had one week of retirement before he had to go back to work (because our oldest son was starting college!). He is now an investigator with the Medical Board. I have been the secretary at our local police department for 17 1/2 years, and am so lucky to have a job I enjoy so much!

So looking forward to a repeat experience n the WBTA 2014, as we had on the WBTA 2011, reuniting w/old friends and making new ones!

hi

i am Deborah, born at Aberdeen at North of Scotland, had been married for 19 years but will be 20 years on Oct next year. My husband is Ian, he is from Sunderland, England. We met at the party 22 years ago and we got married 3 years later at Edinburgh where he stayed with his parent.

We have two teenagers, first is Keith, he will be 16 next month and he is hearing in the family. I forgot metioned that we are deaf family apart from hearing son.

My daughter Olivia is profoundly deaf and she got an cochlear implant when she was 2 half and now she is 13 years old and love her cochlear implant. She is going well with it and she can talking, and can sign to us.

I work for Marks and Spencer at foods hall., my husband work for Glazing Techincal for glasses etc.

When I met Ian and one year later he took me to Florida and WDW... it was awesome holiday. After that, we had been on Disney Wonder, then Disney Magic for 3 times. As we went to Med 07, Panama Canal 08 and Dover to Barcelona. It was so awesome holiday. We had been to WDW for five times LA twice and twice to Paris Disneyland.

Ian's mum and dad came with us to Med 07 and Dover to Barcelona. Ian told me no more cruise until 2015 because we are going to Venice to Greece & Turkey Venice with deaf passage group on July.

so Ian changed his mind after saw this cruise and told me to booked it I was so surprised and happy. And he asked his mum Lilian to come along too.

Ian know that I love Magic Disney as best ship ever...

so 5 of us are coming to this cruise and looking forward to meet old and new friends.

Okay – here goes….

I am Melodie and let’s just say, I’m up there (??) :). No? :upsidedow Too vague? :rolleyes1

So I am a mom to two grown sons (Dave – 37 and Eric – 31). We’ve added to the family with my DIL – Amy (Dave’s wife) and Stephanie (Eric’s significant other). Of course, I’ve done my job as a Disney enthusiast to ensure that they were indoctrinated the Disney way!! :thumbsup2 I’ve been to Disney World numerous times and one trip to Disneyland.

My first DCL cruise was a 4-day on the Wonder in 2000. The teenage boys were not interested :confused3 but I did travel with extended family (a group of 22). We had a blast!! We tried a couple of times to take a 7-day but they kept shipping the Magic to CA, etc. Finally in 2006, we gave up and took another 4-day on the Wonder (this time the group was only 15 and my sons were young adults who couldn’t see cruising over WDW)!! Finally in 2008, I cruised for my first time on the Magic. I cruised on a double dip cruise with my Mom and my oldest and his fiancée (okay girlfriend until the week before when they were at WDW and he proposed!!). We met some wonderful DIS’ers on this cruise and I’ve cruised with several since then!! We left the ship from the 2008 cruise and booked the 2010 WBTA as soon as it was released (me along with my son and his, by time of sailing, wife). Can’t say enough about that cruise and the wonderful friends I made.:cheer2: After that blissful 14 days, we again hit the Wonder but for a 7-day Alaskan cruise in 2011. Followed that up with a 4-day on the Dream in Oct 2011. This is significant since I finally got my youngest on a cruise ship (after hearing for months – what is there to do? I’m going to be bored!! :scared1: - and by the way – he LOVED it!!! :woohoo:). Last year I took my mom on a 7-day Fantasy cruise to the Eastern Caribbean which means I’ve been lucky enough to experience all four ships!! :cool1:

So outside of my DCL obsession :rotfl2:, I work full time as a Computer Maintenance Management System Administrator which just means I’m in charge of the software system that tracks the work done on all of the building and the equipment in our Biological Pharmaceutical pilot plant. My other smaller obsession is scrapbooking which I’ve done for over 15 years. So I have wonderful pictorial journals of my travels.

I am so looking forward to this 2014 WBTA cruise as I will hopefully be traveling with my oldest and his wife along with numerous fellow DIS’ers that I’ve cruised with previously both in 2008 and in 2010!!! It’s going to be like old home week on the Magic!!!!!! :dance3:
