The "I've Waited Forever to Go Solo" Mom's Leaving Everyone Behind Trip! Updt 3/11

Your trip is soooooo close! 2 days! AHHHHH! I'm so excited for you and doing a "Tropical Storms/Hurricanes Keep Away Dance" up here for you. Just bring your ponchos in case but I'm hoping you'll have a nice dry trip!

There was no Express in my Magical Express! LOL! But it was a nice freebie and at least I can say I gave it a try. I do prefer my towncars but to save a little $$$ I would use this again on some trips I think.

Your son cracks me up. I told Bashful and she got all, well Bashful. :rolleyes1

Here is a recent photo of Bashful on our way to Boston a few weeks back:

And first day of school for us was yesterday. Here are my annual in front of the door pictures. I've got to share the one of Goofy too. He was NOT happy to be going back to school. It was bad. By the time he came home he said he had an awesome day but in the morning, oh my he didn't want to go.

OMGosh!! My DS will be so thrilled! Thank you for sharing the pics of your beautiful children! ;)

And sorry your first night was so wet - I do hope it gets better... and thanks for doing the 'Keep Away' dance for me - I may need it!! :goodvibes

Yeah, for MK the first night!!!
Magic Kingdom looks beautiful, even in the rain.

Love the shop photos! I really want to stop and look in every window next trip.
And I am really looking forward to hearing about the Keys to the Kingdom tour.

Sorry you didn't see many photopass photographers. :sad2:
I am planning to preorder next time, had not thought about them not being out in the rain.

The back to school photos of the girls are cute! :goodvibes
Goofy's picture is so funny! :lmao:
My kids don't go back till Tuesday. :sad2:
Then they are in school so late in June!:headache:

I'm here from Maine. Love your trip report! You're DH and kids had a much better week in Maine last week. The best week of the summer I think. Looking forward to reading more.

Martha

:scared1: Wow! Can't wait to hear about the rudeness.

I'm glad that even with the rain, you were able to have a good time.

Can't wait for more!

Hi Allyson!! This will be so cool, I like reading the solo TRs so I can get the confidence one day to actually go myself.

Great start and that was the only good thing about the rain, the slightly empty parks. ;)

Hi Allyson!
Fantastic update!!! Hope to read another one soon!
Jen :)

P.S. I hastily wrote my post above while I was at work, then the boss suddenly walked in! Bingo! Caught red-handed sneaking on the Dis with a long line of patients waiting behind the shut office door! I had to cut it really short! LOL! :rotfl:

Anyhow, what I really wanted to say was that I loved your resilience and positivity.

Last October, our last day at MGM was a wee bit rainy, and it was no fun to miss the HSM show and Stars and Cars parade. They had an extremely abbreviated Indy show, and almost cancelled Fantasmic! We did our best and had fun, but would have enjoyed more without the rain. I can definitely sympathize with you.

Hope to see another update soon!

Hi Allyson,
Really enjoying you're TR so far! Sounds like it was an interesting experience ;)
Can't wait to hear more!!!
Love the kids photos! :cutie:

Oh, how I love the idea of walking slowly down Main St. and poking around in the shops. Even in the rain! :cloud9: How can people be dropping f-bombs in IASW? What is wrong with them? :confused3

I love that picture of Goofy! My new first-grader happened to be looking over my shoulder at the time and thought it was pretty funny! :lmao:

Wow, there's nobody there! :thumbsup2

Its a girl! So now I knew I had to buy something girly for her while I was here.
Congratulations! I know you found something very cute and girly! princess:

I love this! Next time I'm going to take more time to look. :thumbsup2

Side Note: On the Keys to the Kingdom tour which I took a few days into the trip we learned a lot about Main Street. I can't recommend this tour enough, it is FANTASTIC!
I really want to do this too!

Good job!

Cute!

:lmao:

Hi Allyson!! This will be so cool, I like reading the solo TRs so I can get the confidence one day to actually go myself.

Um, there are several people who would be glad to meet you there! :rolleyes1

So glad you're back safely ~ Love the first 2 updates, sounds like such a great, relaxing, stress free trip (besides the rain that is).
At least it made it better crowd wise.

Can't wait to hear more!

Oh boy. Goofy did NOT want to go to school at all!! :scared1: Poor kid. Glad the day turned out ok for him.

Now onto your trip. I am so impressed that you didn't let the rain get to you. I'm afraid that I would pout. :sad2:

TTA as a first ride is great. And LOVE the mickeys on your toes!

The f-bomb on IASW??? Yikes!!

Welcome home Allyson! I'm glad you are back safely and am looking forward to reading your (wet) trip report! Love the green Mickey heads you painted on your toes!! :goodvibes

Great start Allyson!:thumbsup2 F-bombs on IASW:scared1: Not so magical indeed! I cracked up when I saw your DS 1st day of school face:rotfl: poor kid! Also wanted to add that on Wed. I will officially have a 3rd grader and
1st grader too:goodvibes Looking forward to more!popcorn::

Hi There Allyson!

Thought I'd pop over and see what you're up to! :surfweb: I read all your updates! OMG. Girl, you can write! Like I can talk....:rotfl:

Bob's outta town so I'm bored. Glad you got started to keep me entertained. Your kiddos are SO cute. And, I love Maine too. We usually rent a house in Gloucester in the summer, but we ALWAYS visit Maine while we are home.

We did end up going to MGM/AK on the Tuesday. It was the day Fay was to hit so the parks all opened up at 8:00 I guess they figured they would end up closing early. When we finally got to the park at 9:00 the fast passes for the Toy Story ride were 5:00 return time, so we missed that, :sad1: . It did not rain until we were leaving at 3:00 so we were very luck.:thumbsup2

Love your back tos school pictures, I will have to steal your sign idea, I love it and it is so hard to remember what year it is when you look back at the pictures.

Lisa

Awesome. Just too cool. Even in the rain, she manages to find the adventure! Glad you were happy with the first bus that came along - very lucky! Seems like it was just the ticket! I can not believe your first ride was TTA. Peoplemovers. Actually, I can - it's a pretty nifty-cool ride AND no wait, AND out of the rain!

I imagine the Baggalinininini over the shoulder thing with the poncho and I think - wow. Did you get soaked each time or did you manage to take the poncho and bag off and replace it while under the little security roof?

And LOVE the 1st day of school photos. Good ol' Goofy - that kid has spunk, for sure. Your girls look really excited and I can not believe how much they have grown since your super-secret-surprise Christmas trip!

You are a very prompt reporter - it's impressive. :thumbsup2

It's so nice to read a trip report froma different perspective! I especialy love how you stop and notice the little details about things; I'm a lot like that too. Can't wait to hear more!
Thank you! I did find it was a lot easier to notice the little things when I wasn't busy corraling 3 kids! LOL!

Great update Allyson.....sorry about the weather, but it seems like you are going with the flow, so to speak. How nice to do the things you want to do without having to worry about anyone else.
ewwwww to the F-bombs
It really was a treat to be able to wander wherever I wanted without consulting anyone or boring anyone or making anyone whine! LOL!

OMGosh!! My DS will be so thrilled! Thank you for sharing the pics of your beautiful children! ;)

And sorry your first night was so wet - I do hope it gets better... and thanks for doing the 'Keep Away' dance for me - I may need it!!
You are thisclose to being there now! Have a wonderful trip!

Yeah, for MK the first night!!!

Thanks and yes the windows are incredibly creative. Take a few minutes to really notice them! And I hadn't thought about that with the Photogs either. Kind of a bummer.

I'm here from Maine. Love your trip report! You're DH and kids had a much better week in Maine last week. The best week of the summer I think. Looking forward to reading more.

Martha
Maine, we love Maine! Yes my family said the weather was a delight and they had awesome waves for boogie boarding too. They had their fix of Amato's Pizza as well, one of our favorite Maine treats!

Wow! Can't wait to hear about the rudeness.

I'm glad that even with the rain, you were able to have a good time.

Can't wait for more!
You know, you have to take your lemons and make lemonade sometimes!

Hi Allyson!! This will be so cool, I like reading the solo TRs so I can get the confidence one day to actually go myself.

Great start and that was the only good thing about the rain, the slightly empty parks. ;)
Oh go alone, I really think everyone should try it once. It is a different kind of trip! Thanks for riding Splash with me!

Hi Allyson!

You know I think had I been with my family it would have been a lot more difficult to just slosh through. I was really glad I was alone. I wasn't going to let a little Tropical Storm ruin my long awaited solo adventure. ;)

Thanks! It will be a trip I won't forget!

I don't know but this family I'm about to share with you all is just an example of the most ignorant, rude group of folks. It was lovely to see that they are raising their children to be like that as well. :sad2: And thankfully Goofy had a much better 2nd day at school!

Wow, there's nobody there! :thumbsup2

Congratulations! I know you found something very cute and girly! princess:

The store windows are very creative and fun if you take some time to check them out. It would be a fun job to have I bet just designing the window displays!

So glad you're back safely ~ Love the first 2 updates, sounds like such a great, relaxing, stress free trip (besides the rain that is).

Yes it really was low crowds. Only diehards put up with that kind of rain I guess! LOL!

Oh boy. Goofy did NOT want to go to school at all. Poor kid. Glad the day turned out ok for him.

Now onto your trip. I am so impressed that you didn't let the rain get to you. I'm afraid that I would pout. :sad2:

Thank you on my toes! The are still on there! And Goofy did have a good day once it was over!

Welcome home Allyson! I'm glad you are back safely and am looking forward to reading your (wet) trip report! Love the green Mickey heads you painted on your toes!!
Thank you for coming along!

Hope your kiddos have a great first day! No, and the irony was that it was at IASW, the ride about how we really are all very much alike on this very small planet and peace and love and all of that. It was a shocking thing to witness in Disney World.

Hi There Allyson!

Well so glad you came over Mel! Welcome! I'll be happy to entertain while Bob is away! :dance3: Isn't Maine just great? Love it! Grumpy and I had our first date up near Gloucester, in Rockport actually. He took me to dinner there.

I love using the sign, it is cool to look at them year by year. Kids think its geeky but they humor me, usually. :) Glad you got a rain free park day! All the reason to go back if you missed TSM this past time!

Love the picture of your toes and hidden green mickeys.
Why thank you!

Awesome. Just too cool. Even in the rain, she manages to find the adventure! Glad you were happy with the first bus that came along - very lucky! Seems like it was just the ticket! I did get wet even under the security roof. The wind would just blow the rain. The ponchos (mine were dollar store) do keep you dry but still your face, your legs, feet, you still get pretty wet. It was pretty much a bunch of poncho'd people with wet squishy feet and flat hair. Bunch of lookers. :lmao: And thanks on my kiddos pics, they have grown. That trip was almost 2 years ago now which man that shocks me. Time does fly!

Hey Allyson just found this thread and thought of you???

http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1935429
OMGoodness, that might be me?! I just wrote her back. I was there a smidge earlier but you know how in Disney your sense of time sometimes disappears. I wonder if it was me? How funny! Thanks for pointing it out!

I hope to get the infamous IASW update up tonight. Need to run to the bus right now. Grumpy and I went to "the" casino today, the one that funded this trip. Let's just say Lady Luck was not in the building with me today.

Allyson:surfweb:

Okay, don't ask me how I did it, but I got through the 39 pages of this PTR/TR today and my butt is only a little numb!!

Allyson, in the past week I have read your other TR's and just now caught up with this one. You are such a riot, have a lovely family ( characters and all and by that I do mean Papa, Belle and that darling photo of Goofy's pic the morning of school:rotfl: !!). I have really enjoyed your TR's and your solo one is sounding great despite the rain. I too am a DF ( that is Disney Freak ) and would love to do a solo one day. In the meantime I live through you.:worship:
