Anyone have any info for Thanksgiving dining this year? I was hoping to book the one in the Grand Ballroom at Disneyland hotel but haven't seen anything about it for this year. I know last year reservations went up the last weekend of September (ie this weekend).

Thanks for any help :cutie:

No info yet. The reservations might open up (quietly), but you wouldn't know unless you kept checking with Disneyland Dining (or online, if the option to book the Ballroom online is available). The Disney Parks Blog will do a piece -- probably sometime in the first few days of this upcoming week -- to list off the restaurants having special meals. Last year there was some confusion as to when the reservations opened up. At first people thought they opened up in late September. Then the Parks Blog corrected it and said that the reservations opened up in early October. Then it turned out that their correction was incorrect, and the reservations actually opened up in late September. :lmao:

In any case, the whole reservation situation for dining has been strange this year (for October and early November, specifically), so I wouldn't be surprised if the opening of the Thanksgiving booking window is delayed.

According to my travel agent (who is AWESOME!):

It looks like the thanksgiving DL Hotel buffet is from 12:00 to 5:00 (they extended the hours to 7:00 pm last year due to popularity). There will be character meet and greet at buffet.

They will not have reservations online at all for this meal, but phone reservations open up on Tuesday 9/29/15.

COST:
76.99 over 9
27.99 ages 3 to 9

In our Disneyland at Christmas/Holiday Season Superthread, DIS'er Orbitron shared photos of his Thanksgiving meal last year -- http://www.disboards.com/threads/di...i-november-13th.3358217/page-57#post-54303737.

We also have links to reviews of the Thanksgiving feast (in the DLH Ballroom) in this post (look under November 2014) - http://www.disboards.com/threads/di...egin-fri-november-13th.3358217/#post-52730335.

And there are ideas for other Thanksgiving meal options linked in this post (under Thanksgiving Day Dining) - http://www.disboards.com/threads/di...egin-fri-november-13th.3358217/#post-52730328. The links to Jazz Kitchen, Catal, Knott's, Naples, Tortilla Jo's and Uva Bar should not be active yet as those sites are probably not updated with Thanksgiving menu details, but all of the links to other blogs and info should be working.

Hey all! Thanks for this info... I was just looking for when and how to book the Disney Family Thanksgiving Feast at the Disneyland Hotel. Anyone know what, if any, the discount will be for Premium AP holders or DVC members? I thought I read somewhere that it is 20% for PAPs, so that's what I told my DH to sell him on the idea, but I can't find that tidbit, or anything official that confirms it. Anyone know? Thanks in advance!

PAP's get 15% off. I don't know if DVC gets a discount. I wouldn't expect reservations to open until the first week of October.

This page is "live" but you can't book anything yet. https://disneyland.disney.go.com/dining/disneyland-hotel/disneyland-hotel-thanksgiving-dinner/

Down in the page it states "For reservations, please book online, or call (714) 781-DINE or (714) 781-3463 between 8:00 AM and 9:00 PM Pacific Time daily. Guests under 18 years of age must have parent or guardian permission to call.

It's technically 9/29 so i'm thinking the online page won't be bookable until phones open however. I was hoping to do it before bed but no luck.

So I have a question I've been thinking about this and we are planning on going to the park that day what's the best time for reservation are there any special parade or events that we should be aware of inside the parks?

My family has visited DLR over Thanksgiving weekend for the past five years, and dined at the Thanksgiving Feast for the past four. Historically, there have not been any special events or parades in the Parks for Thanksgiving. This year, you can expect Paint the Night and probably Disneyland Forever to run at Disneyland and World of Color to run at California Adventure.

One way to answer your question is to ask yourself, when does your family enjoy a Thanksgiving meal if you were celebrating at home?

We've always made reservations for the latest seating available (this year it's 4:45 PM) because we like the idea of having our Thanksgiving dinner at the Feast. The ballroom is always beautifully decorated and the food is traditional (heavy) holiday food. I personally think getting rides and other activities out of the way earlier in the day helps to work up an appetite. After the Feast, you may not feel like moving too much and taking in a nighttime show has always been a perfect way to end the day. If the Feast doesn't fall too far behind its seating times, you should be able to get out in time for the nighttime shows in either Park.

You can book online now go go go
Made our reservation too yay!!

I think earlier is better for a reservation and it's always been tradition for my family to eat Thanksgiving early around 1-2pm but this may vary for your family.
I'm very weird about buffets I like being there bright and early and would rather snack the night away than return too early feeling heavy.

Thanks. I was really hoping they had some special thanksgiving day parade or something lol.

They used to have a little Thanksgiving cavalcade around 10 AM. It featured Mickey and Minnie. I think it also featured one of the "pardoned turkeys" that for whatever reason was sent to Disneyland. Disneyland doesn't take in the turkeys anymore, and I don't think the cavalcade has run for several years now.

where have ppl got reservations at I'm trying to do Storytellers and still doesn't seem to work

Reservations are available at Storyteller's for Thanksgiving too. Here are the hours and a direct link - there's no seperate "Thanksgiving" ressie for storyteller's however.

I hate calling on the phone, so I was super excited to log in and find reservations for the Disneyland Hotel Thanksgiving Dinner pop up! Since there are 2 toddlers and 5 adults in our group, I booked at noon for the earliest reservation. We have APs, and we're planning on spending the first 3-4 hours of the day in the park, going to the feast for lunch, then driving home while our little one naps in the car for the 2 hr drive home. We'll be within 45 minutes of Disneyland the night before for our extended family's Thanksgiving dinner, which we're doing Wednesday because a long distance family member is flying home early Thursday morning. We'll drop him at Burbank airport, then hit the parks first thing. I understand it gets busier as the day wears on, and as we were there on the Fourth of July, we feel no need to fight the crowds and watch the evening entertainment on Thanksgiving day.

Oh, and thank you for telling me we get a 15% discount! That will be helpful for my group to better justify the cost. I told them to think of it not only as the biggest, most beautiful Thanksgiving buffet they've ever seen, but a character meal for the kids to enjoy. (Not to mention NO COOKING and NO CLEAN UP and NO WAITING for long overdue turkeys!) It is pricey, but for us, possibly a once in a lifetime event. SUPER EXCITED!!!
